SUPPER CLUB Tuesday March 10th

Post by gershwin64 » Tue Mar 10, 2020 9:02 am

Good morning everyone!
Not much happening here yet,.....well that's a lie LOL I just about had a heart attack! I lost a quilt top and was getting panicked! I found it! It was a stressful 30 minutes though!
Now I have to clean up my mess from my frantic search!
Carol, I buy my TP online and started over a year ago. When our Walmart did their redo inside they quit carrying the one I buy. There's a few things that I can only order online, it's free shipping over $35 so I buy a couple big packs and paper towels too.....I can only get the select a size in this store so I order the full sheets along with the TP, DH's coffee pods too. It makes it easier anyways. Just something to think about.
Jana, congrats on less worry! My daughter doesn't get why I worry  there are days ..... :?
Supper tonight I think will be something simple, I'm thinking tacos or possibly Schwan's chinese......just need to decide. It's Dad's night to eat over.

Good morning!

No rebel today. A luscious corned beef jumped into my cart yesterday, so that will be dinner tonight. My niece Sandee cooks hers a bit different - in the crockpot using half beef broth, half water and a layer of thinly sliced sweet onions, then the potatoes on those. Sarah tried it and said it was the best she has tasted, so I will try it today. Oh, it is cooked on low for about 8 hours.

I have my uglies going and then will head to the Batt Cave and finish up some sewing.

Tina - so glad you found that quilt top! I know that feeling, having misplaced a couple myself!

Hugs,
Jana

Good morning! We are chilly and gloomy today… but, it’s not raining! Yesterday when I walked the dogs, the radar showed no rain anywhere, and there were no raindrops hitting the pond or puddles from night before. When I came back from walking, I was soaked. I guess it was liquid sunshine, since there was no rain on the radar.

My liver was yummy last night! Somehow, Mary got service long enough to read my menu and scolded me a little for it. But, rebel that I am—and several of you are my partners in crime—it will be all the goodies my freezer has to offer while she is (supposedly) off-line.

Q7—the nearest Costco to me is over 100 miles, and nearest Sam’s is about 75 miles. Needless to say, I don’t have memberships at either of them. We do have a nice meat market, and I need to make a stop in for beef. All that is in the freezer is from the sea and a couple of packages of liver.

Lori—Mary sure is sneaky telling us she has no service and then peeking… I love tamales! They will probably be my next craving.

Jana—Congrats to Kate! I know the departments in town have a hard time keeping qualified people because police and fire do not pay what they do in larger markets. There is a huge turnover. DS who is a paramedic is employed by the hospital. He likes having the extra days off, and sometimes he and a friend who is off in summer as a teacher do roofing and building jobs for extra income.

Rosebud—I hope your pizza had anchovies in honor of Mary’s absence! I’m probably the only person you know who likes anchovies on pizza or salad. Call me crazy! I can’t help it!

Tina—Great idea for Michael to donate his SS to Jana for a quilt fund! Very creative!!! Oh Tina—we must be related! I looked all over for a casserole carrier my sister-in-law made. It was a “duh!” moment when I FINALLY found it after searching and getting worried.

Jana—I’m glad to hear you are eating with abandon with me! The DDILs all know they can help themselves to my pantry when they need it and don’t have time to make a trip to town. Sounds like everyone in your area is stocking up from the stores.
PS—no rebellion today? What??? I forgive you. Your corned beef sounds yummy! Have fun in the Batt Cave today!

Becca—I’d go for spaghetti, but DH doesn’t like anything with tomato sauce. He doesn’t like any in chili, either. I think the tomatoes are good for you.

Dinner tonight—reruns of the aforementioned liver with salad and baked potato and broccoli. Pudding for dessert.

Bon appétit!

Chickie, I just knew Mary would be sneaking in to make sure we are following the rules.

Tina, that just happened to me the other day. I was looking for quilt blocks and couldn't find them. I think the spirits in my house hide things.

Well we started off the day with Jack having a seizure. It didn't last as long as the last one. He came around pretty quick. I just feel so bad for him. He looks so scared. I guess this is going to be a once in a while thing.

We'll have a late lunch today. Maybe fish! I have guild tonight.

Have a lovely day.
