SUPPER CLUB - Thursday, Jan 30

Post by purrfect-lady » Thu Jan 30, 2020 6:41 am

Good morning,

A little jolt when I typed the date this morning. It would be my 49th wedding anniversary today with my first DH, Mike. We only got to 14 before he was killed. :( Seems like only last week I was that very nervous 19-yr-old bride standing at the alter - with a bad cold. And an even more nervous young groom!

Yesterday we were at a medical appt for Bill (and our 28th anniversary is coming up! :) ), then we went out to breakfast and as we were leaving the restaurant he said, "Let's go look at furniture". By noon we'd picked out two new recliners and a loveseat. Won't be delivered for another 2 months, but at least we made some choices and I hope they are wise ones. Sitting in a chair for a few minutes while shopping is a lot different than spending an entire evening. Now we have a full-size couch and big leather recliner to find homes for. Anyone in need? You haul.

I got binding put on my bunny baby quilt and today, after walking, chiro, Costco, library, mail, and grocery I plan to start cutting sashing strips for my CCC. It's a triple sashing with 3-1/2" 9-patches for cornerstones so I'll be in the sewing room for a long time if anyone needs me! lol! My neighbor/walking buddy, Lori, was gone for a month but she's back and this morning will be our first walk. And I'll give her the Scrappy Star quilt.

JANA - glad you are warm again! What kind of floor do you have in your batt cave? Chriss mentioned taking a bit of carpet or a rug to work for under her desk to keep her feet warm. Warm feet = warm Chriss.

TiNA - that's quite a party you are having! Wish I could sneak a plateful of all that yummy-sounding food! Hope you figure out seating. Will it be warm enough to sit outside? Could dad go outside if he stayed in shade and wore large-brimmed hat? Maybe he can at least open windows and sit near them? The nightmares must be awful.

BECCA - sorry you are under the weather. Rest, rest, rest. and lots of fluids. And more rest. A good opportunity to enjoy some of those library books! What a thoughtful gift from your grandson!

CHICKIE - I'm sorry, but I wish I'd been there to witness the mud incident!  A brave cat can stop the chase pretty fast. Foxy and Scottie are now best friends, but it wasn't so the first few weeks. Spring is only 38 days away!

BECKY - hope you and your crew are up and at 'em today!

LORI - do you make your tamale's or buy them? Whenever I order them in a restaurant here the masa is so thick it almost chokes me. So I"ve stopped ordering them.

We have more baked ziti to warm up for our supper. A tossed salad and we'll be good. How about you?

Good morning!

Just as soon as Michael finishes his breakfast and loads his pants, no that kind, puts his wallet, keys and data stick in his pockets, we will leave for a appointment with our financial guy. He needs our John Hancocks on stuff.

Then home to sew. The Batt Cave has cement, sealed to keep the dust down, floors and I have a area rug under my sewing area. It does help to keep my feet warmer. Plus I keep a pair of slippers down there. Under the LA is just the plain old floor, as it is so heavy, that the wheels would damage most floor coverings. Plus, I can easily move the whole frame, if necessary.

Mary - I hope you know that they make recliners in a petite size. My mom was very short, under 5 foot, so she had a petite recliner. My niece got it when Mom passed, as she is short too. Maybe it could be changed on your order, if needed.

Dinner - the car knows the wsy, we have class tonight.

Enjoy,
Jana

Maryz, new furniture is always nice. We are impulse buyers, so that is how we buy most of the time. Go out to eat talking at dinner about what we need, them bam...we are at the furniture store buying things. We have a massage chair that was a complete impulse buy after dinner and cocktails. Finding furniture when you are short is difficult. I have a loveseat that is perfect for me to sit and stitch. It was a planned purchase though. So sorry about your first husband. I wonder if they will ever solve that case.

Well we are off to Bestbuy. We bought a new computer and they will transfer everything over for us today. We still have windows 7 on our tower and need to update. While we are there I think I will buy a small 4k TV. I've been wanting to replace the one in the back room. Who knows what else I will find.

I think we will have grilled chicken and angel pasta with fresh broccoli for dinner. I'm hungry just thinking about it.

Have a lovely day.

Hi everyone!
Mary, no Dad can't stand anything to touch his poor head.
I talked to one of my uncles in Virginia this morning, he has shingles on his head too! I guess he wanted to take after his big brother 🤷‍♀️
We're good on table and Frankie's niece said I could borrow chairs so that looks like it'll work out too.
Come on over and grab a plate!
2 months till you get your new furniture? That's kinda long huh.
Sorry about your first DH.
Becca, hope you feel better soon.
Becky, are you all well yet?
Lori, I love window shopping for furniture but seldom buy anything.
I went to the grocery store and got the meat and regular stuff and then picked up my things I needed from Walmart, most is put away.
I found some little thin steaks so that'll be supper along with a salad for me and Dad and Frankie will probably add a baked potatoe.
Tina
