Supper Club. Friday, July 12
Hi, Moms! I’m home!!
I am still on my phone as computers aren’t set up yet but we are indeed home. Scotty and Foxy are ecstatic! We cross the border yesterday afternoon and got to about 60 miles north of Seattle at 4 PM. After driving all day We were too tired to tackle Seattle Rush hour traffic so we pulled into Cabela’s parking lot and spent the evening reading, went to bed at 8 PM got up at 1 AM and drove the rest of the way home. Surprising how much traffic there is at that time of morning! I wanted to know where everybody was going at that hour.
We got home And left the trailer on the parking pad. We will put it away in its shelter when it gets late. We took out essentials-coffee and pet food and went in the house and went to bed at 3:15 AM. But I can’t sleep so here I am!
We hear news of many more fires in Alaska-a total of 600,000 acres are on fire in over 40 fires. Just since we got out of the state. Washington and Oregon are sending 1000 firefighters. Our friends, Rick and Dot, are still in Alaska, planning to cross into Yukon today but said The highway may be blocked.
As you may expect, my refrigerator and pantry are bare. I don’t know what we will have for supper tonight. Possibly spinach raviolis with a Parmesan sauce. But a shopping trip is definitely in order today. I need some salad!
I hope you have a better idea of what your supper will be tonight.

Good morning! I’m mom sitting again. I arrived last evening at 5, and I’ll be here through Sunday morning.
Mary—it’s amazing how much traffic there is at night! I’m not used to town, and I’ll hear traffic on the street outside. It’s not a major street. I heard about the fires! Glad you aren’t trying to travel through that area now! Hope your friends are safe! Welcome home!
I think lunch for mom will be ham, macaroni and cheese, and a salad or fruit. I’ll have a salad, maybe with some ham in it. Supper tonight will be fruit and cottage cheese for her and salad for me.
Bon appetit!

Good morning!
Mary - welcome home! I see that not only Scottie and Foxy were glad to be home, but the ground as well! It was jumping for joy too. Did you feel the earthquakes as you arrived?
I have a run to make across the valley to get some serger thread and maybe a couple of pieces of fabric too. We will go in a few minutes, after breakfast.
Not much going on here, just waiting for deliveries and mail. A very important piece of mail is due at any time, and frankly it is late and worrying us. Hopefully it will be here today.
Dinner - something light and easy. Not needing the stove to heat up the house.
Enjoy!
Jana
