Supper Club, Tuesday, July 2

Good morning!!

When I re-read what I wrote yesterday I just shake my head. In fact, I shake my head often. Sometimes I try to dictate and if Bill talks to me ( or to the dog ) the phone picks it up. I try to catch that stuff but some gets by me. Some days I really miss my computer.

Irish, sounds like you have a fun and very full schedule coming up. Better eat some extra Wheaties!

Becca, do you do any extra exercises for your back to stretch the muscles or does it work best to simply rest it? So nice that your kids will come and help with the yardwork. I won’t have access to computer or phone coverage next weekend so y’all have a happy birthday party!

Jana, sounds like Kate and Aaron may have dodged a bullet with her sisters change in plans. That’s too funny about Logan!

Chickie, I know you are off to your assignment today. I really do hope all goes well-for everybody .

yesterday I had several hours to so I came within 30 minutes of finishing up my 30 sailboat blocks. Bill’s nephew and wife showed up at 3 PM and other than a short break to go set up their own camp, they stayed here until 10 PM last night. She’s a loud and long talker. I thought my ears were going to fall off. LOL! But the good news is our supper turned out really good considering it was a new experiment. Definitely a keeper recipe. And we have leftovers for tonight on the road. In a couple hours we will meet my nephew At a restaurant about 10 miles away and have breakfast. Then we will be hitting the road. Starting for home! We were going to stay out until the very end of July but with the fire and smoke situation, we decided to skip some things so should be home two weeks early.

Now here’s the bad news. Starting this afternoon we will be in a lot of wilderness Where there is no cell coverage. And two days of travel will get us back into Canada Anyway so wilderness or not, we will just shut our phones off until we get back over the border again. So y’all just chat and eat and have a good time. I may be able to get on here tomorrow morning but maybe not.

Ban is lifted until further notice! Party on !

Good morning!

I have been searching my house, high, low, top to bottom and everywhere in between for a tole painted Uncle Sam I did a few years ago. Could not find him. I knew he was here somewhere. Even Michael has been looking too. Well, not giving up, started looking everywhere I have already looked, moving things and low and behold, found him! He was high on a shelf, behind some tall fall flowers in a vase. Michael looked in the butler's pantry, which is where I found him. We do know how men look for things! LOL! I now have to put back together the guest bedroom, tore it apart. But that is fine, even found a missing pillow case. Ah lass, no money! LOL!

So while searching yesterday, I made dinner, lucicous ribs and then proceeded to leave them out overnight! UGGH! The trash can enjoyed them! No idea for tonight. We need a run to Costco for milk. Something may jump in.

Mary - there's no place like home! Safe travels on your way there.

Becca - prayers for CA and you too, to enjoy the celebration. You have such a wonderful loving family!

Chickie - prayers your way too! Enjoy this special time with your mom!

Irish - around here we have a saying, the horse knows the way - your horse, ie, car, knows the way to the airport! It will be great yo have Kathy visit again so quickly!

Sarah & family, Sandee & family all leave tomorrow for their camping trip. Matt leaves today. Kate is on duty for the 4th, Aaron will have the girls. We will sit on the deck and watch!

Enjoy,
Jana

Good afternoon! Here I am at my mom-sitting job. We had lunch, and she is down for her nap. I have a dog schedule for feeding, meds, walking… and it’s not for Odie. I’m also dog sitting their dog. Odie and he get along well, so there is not a problem there. Although… just like at home, there is no separation of dog bowls. It’s what dog gets there first! Odie likes his spot at the foot of Mom’s bed on a towel. It’s a crazy life!

Mary—I can’t believe you have completed your 30 blocks already! I’m on the last of the kitty embroider y blocks. I’ll finish them before I start another of the projects I brought with me along with lots of books in print and on my Kindle.

Jana—my sister was looking for a set of sheets and pillowcases and cannot find them. The gremlins are everywhere! Oh, I grieve for your ribs! You are too young to have my forgetfulness disease!

Irish—delightful happenings with you and your family! Enjoy!!!

Becca—I’m really going to miss the berries unless some are still ripening a week from now! I picked a few peaches and have them here with me to ripen a bit. I picked a few blackberries, but I got more chiggers than berries. The bushes are loaded!!!

Whew! I just went outside and visited with the neighbor who is a gardener and a quilter—the one with the viewers’ choice quilt at the show. I came back in and am roasted!!! Trying to cool off with no AC! DH is going to drop by in a few—he already misses me!

Mom and I had chicken cordon bleu for lunch, but thanks to Mary’s lifted ban—salmon tomorrow! Mom likes her main meal at noon and something light in the evening.

Bon appetite! Stay cool!!!
