SUPPER CLUB - Saturday, May 11th
Good morning!
First, love and hugs to our Irish as she and her family suffer yet another loss. She wanted me to let y'all know and also that she will probably be MIA for a while as family gathers.
Our friends are leaving this morning. In fact, as I started typing this post I heard their big diesel pusher start warming up. I believe they just need to hitch up and they will be on their way. We might be able to meet up with them someplace in Alaska later this summer. It's been a good visit and dinner last night was on their nickle. We sat at the patio at water's edge and ate pasta. Such a nice evening.
We leave in 3 weeks so we'll start our own packing soon. In the meantime, I got out a panel of a fox that I've had a for a few years and am making some bear paws and tree blocks to lengthen it to lap quilt size. We will give it to our Oregon friends, Bob & Betsy, as a trailer-warming gift.. They just got a new Arctic Fox trailer.
Today I'll be doing wash and hanging it out on the lines. I love doing that but so often we can't due to weather. We're to be in the 80's for the 3rd day in a row.
Supper will be leftover swiss steak made into soup or hash or pasties. Bill's choice. it's purrfect grilling weather but we need to eat up what we have before we bring out new food.
Happy supper!

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Saturday, May 11th
Good morning!
This will be our last day with Daniel. They have to be at work on Monday. Karlie and I are making doughnuts for breakfast.
Saeah is heading up to Ogden today. Two things on her list, one is visiting the girls camp site where she will see what the kitchen is like and then to her inlaws for lunch. Besides Mother's day, it is her FIL's BD. He makes a "order" for all his children to be there. It is more important than Mother's day, according to him. The girls camp is up the canyon from the inlaws house.
Stu will be here later to work on the swingset. He is handling all of the sod calls today for Sarah. The phone is ringing off the hook for sod. If they make a quota this year, the owners of the farm will take all the employees on a cruise - at the rate they are getting orders, this will probably happen. Sarah is booking about 200,000 square feet a week!
Dinner - country fried chicken and rice. That includes the gravy as well. That was moved from yesterday, we did french dip sandwiches instead.
My heart breaks for our Irish. So much sadness. Many prayers for her and the family comfort in this time of grief. It will be a bittersweet moment when that new sweet little girl arrives, but she will bring much joy with her.
Hugs,
Jana

Dorothy, so sorry for your loss. What a shock that must have been. Hugs.
Jana, sounds like you had a nice visit. It seems to have gone by fast. Enjoy your last dinner together.
Maryz, I bet you will be glad to get back to normal. Having visitors that long is a lot of work.
I'm going to work on the borders of a the Something Modern quilt. I
have strips cut and some are sewn. Hopefully I'll get the rest done today. I'm trying out a new border, so hope it works out.
For dinner I'm thinking Spaghetti and meatballs or chili. We'll see how the day goes. My herbs are going crazy, so meatballs would be really delicious with all the fresh herbs.
Have a lovely day. Lori

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Saturday, May 11th
Well, all the doors are made and hung. Just a few trim pieces to add and the plumbing and hang my chandalier. Michael can handle what is left. Daniel and Kari went shopping to find some new cowboy boots for Daniel and things to take back for her mom for Mother's day.
I just printed up a bunch of recipes to add to my cookbook - I gather recipes we like and stick them into a book that I can grab and use easily. These are the favorites.
