SUPPER CLUB - Friday, May 10

Post by purrfect-lady » Fri May 10, 2019 4:17 am

Good morning!

It was a quiet day here yesterday. All I did was get dinner ready in the morning then bake a cake. I did have to clean the kitchen about three times, but still - quiet day. Then another couple came to share our swiss steak and the evening. I was up until after 10pm! Mark that down!

Our guests were going to leave this morning, but then asked if they could stay another day as they decided they wanted to go kayaking in the Harbor. So they will be on the road tomorrow morning. We're going to a waterfront Italian restaurant tonite and will be able to sit out on the patio at the water's edge. If it's not too hot! yesterday was 84* here!

I have no real plans for the day but I might decide if I want to start a small project in my sewing room. I have three in small totes, waiting, for over a year. Mostly, I just want to get the totes emptied and out of there! lol!

JANA - sounds like it's Train Season in Utah! lol! Is the picture Aaron had with him one he took himself or a copy of one that he saw?

BECCA - I just don't plant much anymore - takes too much care and we're gone a lot. But I bet your yard is gorgeous! you should share a few photos with us! I have never heard of galardias.

LORI - I love wool applique and have been saving bits of wool and patterns. One of these days . . Happy anniversary to your parents! My parents' anniversary is May 28. They were married in 1934 during the Depression and lived in a tent under an apple tree on Grandpa's farm their first 4 months. To them, sweet memories. I hope your parents have sweet memories with many more to come.

Well, I've already told you about our supper tonite. So no cooking here today! Whoo Hoo! And tomorrow will be leftover swiss steak which I'll make either into veggie beef soup or hash.

Good morning!

Mary - the picture is one that Aaron took when we were watching the train on Wednesday. He didn't realize he got both, the train and the incident command truck until he looked at what he had taken later. It is a great shot and the office will blow it up for the wall. Aaron was just focused in getting pictures of the engine.

I did spaghetti last night and Kate and Aaron were here as well. Probably chicken, country gravy and rice tonight. That is one of Daniel's favorites. Veggie will be broccoli, a Karlie favorite, with cheese sauce on thecside. She likes her broccoli plain.

Today the kids are going to the aquarium. The Dinosaur park is in Ogden. There is a place, north and east, Vernal, about 3 or 4 hour drive, that has all the real fossils and such. This one in Ogden is for the little kids to see replicas that growl and scare the kids! Gracie was in tears before she even got out of the car, as she thought the dinosaurs would eat her. Took a bit of convincing and she then enjoyed herself.

I did hang, for the time being, the little quilt on the wall in the batt cave bathroom. Just to tease Daniel by decorating, before he is done. He hates interior decorators, as they want him to design around their decor, not what is possible or needs to be for structural safety. He hasn't seen it yet.

Well, time to feed Michael

Enjoy,
Jana

I am back to deliver a sad message from Irish. She wanted to post, but just couldn't and instead sent me a PM asking me to share with you. Her DDIL, Cindy (son Kevin's wife) died suddenly yesterday. Kevin found her still in bed when he came home from work yesterday. What a shock for the poor guy! No word yet on cause of death. Kathy & Tim are flying in and maybe others, too. Cindy and Kevin are expecting their first grandbaby, a girl, in August. Please join me in sending up prayers for Irish, her son, and all their family. :o(

Sorry to hear of your loss Dorothy. Hugs.

Jana, funny about hanging the quilt before the bath is finished. I didn't know there was a dinosaur park in Ogden. Maybe I'll go see it next time I'm up there.

Becca, sounds like your weather is warming up fast.

Maty, our weather has been cloudy and cool. Typical for May. The call it May grey. I'm ready for some sunshine.

Tonight I made chicken, mashed potatoes with gravy and broccoli.

Have a lovely evening. Lori
