SUPPER CLUB - Monday, May 6th

Post by purrfect-lady » Mon May 06, 2019 3:41 am

Good morning!

Such good weather we're having here - soon to go into the 70's and late this week I see 3 days in the forecast that are to reach the 80's! I'm loving it!

Bill decided to do my Gypsy quilt in a swirling pattern (like dancing gypsy skirts!) and he's about 25% done with it already. :o) !! So I finished getting my scraps dealt with, straightened up my fabric shelves, and then put March Lotto blocks together. There were only 12 so it was a fast project.

Then yesterday afternoon Bill was mowing and I thought I heard Vicki yelling at him. I went to go see what was going on. I tripped and did a serious face plant on the cement walk. OUCH!! I found, that at 68, I don't bounce like I did at 58! But I do bruise, scrape, and bleed. My first bloody nose ever! And it wasn't Vicki yelling, but some kids in the housing development on the other side of her house. Sigh.

Today is still a mystery. I'm not really wanting to start any big projects right now but I do have a list of smaller ones in the wings . . . I'll surprise myself. Plus, the yard is nagging at me. It's those weeds!

BECCA - I hope there's no lasting damages from the storms! I'm sure you're enjoying your family visit! That little dance recital you were treated to must have been adorable!

LORI - I will look for flower honey next time I buy. I love our market because it's inside and dogs are allowed. Scottie loves to visit with all the vendors.

IRISH - You are the Dine-out Diva! Lucky you! And doesn't it feel great to get rid of stuff! Almost as great as you felt when you first brought it all INTO the house! lol!! I'm sure that quilt will come together in a snap once you figure out your math. I have a book that's supposed to take the math out of quilting, But I can't figure out the book!!

JANA - you, too, are having family fun! In my mind I can see all these little girls dancing and twirling about! It's a pretty clear picture because I did the same thing at their age and made everybody who would sit still watch me!

CHICKIE and TINA - hope things are going well at your respective houses. We miss you!

Supper tonite? Hmm.... Let's see - our company is still in Victoria B.C.. Maybe some pork chops on the grill with potatoes and onions. We also have brussels sprouts, asparagus, and salad fixings. Plenty of choices!

What are your choices?

Good morning!

It is so different having little girls around! For so many years all we had were boys. In fact most of the toys here are cars and trucks. But slowly I am adding dolls and princess toys. Karlie brought with her a collection of small rubber ducks and stuffed animals. Each has their own name and you better remember them or you get a look and corrected. LOL! Karlie has even warmed up to Grandpa and follows him all around too.

Dinner tonight is hamburgers and hot dogs. That is my assignment. The girls are doing the rest. Paper plates are in order! 22 for dinner! See what happens when 2 fall in love! Oh my! But we are having fun!

Mary - oh what a ouchie! Hope you are better today. Can't wait to see part 2, Gypsy Dancer.

The little quilt is ready for the wall. Finished the binding in church yesterday. I was still listening!

Beautiful day here. Stu has been sick, but is doing better. After work, he will be here to work on the swing set. He has all the parts in order, lined up along my fence. Just needs to bolt them all together.

Daniel and Aaron are heading off to scout where we will watch the steam engines. With inside info on the troopers activity, we know not to try to chase the engines. Everyone and their brother are already doing that, causing all kinds of trouble. We saw that there were tickets still available to ride in the passenger cars behind the steam engines, at $8000.00 a piece! No thank you! I can spend that money in better ways!

Well, Daniel and Michael are in the Batt Cave, starting work on the batt-room! LOL! Need to go kibitz.

Enjoy,
Jana

Good early afternoon from a warm, sunny, purrrfect, SW. Pa....It is going to be a purrrfect day and I have lots of plans, not that any of them will get accomplished...But, I'm working on it, (in my head), lol....

Oh Mary, you falling is not a vision I like to have...How quickly that can happen and you are right about not bouncing up as fast...But, hopefully all the booboos will be gone as quickly as you went down....
Very anxious to see your Gypsy quilt, know that it will be another stunner...And you're right about the quilt blocks coming together...As soon as Terry sat down with pencil and paper, he had it figured out...And Theresa decided, the extra blocks that I need will be 9in. Puss in the Corner 2....Now to get working on it but I do have until July....

Jana, I can only imagine the excitement going on at your house...What joy to have the family together..AND to have little girls entertaining, that's the best.....

Becca, I keep missing you but I'm sure you're as busy as ever...Hope our good weather is also down your way...Good porch sitting weather Or working in the yard if you must, lol.....

Chickie, been thinking of you, hoping all is OK with your Mom...

Tina, been also thinking of you and knowing you are busy....

Yesterday was a good, quiet day for most part...Terry and Theresa did come, bearing flowers, a box of candy and a special card...Sometimes I wonder about them, they thought Mother's Day was yesterday....But, that's OK, they'll be back next weekend too....

I am going to be outside this afternoon...This morning, I finally packed up the rest of Jim's shirts, had to be close to 50..Lots of dress shirts and short sleeved pull overs...I called a local organization that works with Vets and hopefully, a few vets will be benefit...Knowing how Jim felt about the Vets, I know he'd be pleased...It was a hard job, each shirt had it's own memory....
So, no I'm ready to do some damage with the weed whacker....I'd like to also get out the chain saw and really trim or cut down a giant forthysia (I know that's spelled wrong)....Oh well, we'll see what happens....

As far as dinner, still 1 left over container in the fridg...Tomorrow, it might be on to new food, unless someone calls and wants to eat out..(you know one of those, twist my arm things).....

You all have a great day....

Happy eating.............

The sad has happened, Kate's dad passed away this morning. Sarah has stepped in and we have the little girls. Kari is helping too. It is a blessing that Kate's dad is no longer suffering. Aaron will be a help as he has been through these situations a few times in his life and has a level head.

Thanks for the prayers, they are greatfully appreciated.
