SUPPER CLUB - Thursday, Valentine's Day, Feb 14

Post by purrfect-lady » Thu Feb 14, 2019 3:35 am

Good morning! and Happy Valentines' Day!

It's also our 27th wedding anniversary. No big plans except to hang together at home. I'm going to make his favorite supper - lasagna, salad, garlic bread, and apple pie.

Bill almost got to go to ER yesterday with broken arm. He was plowing cement parking pad in front of garage. front tractor tire slipped off cement (he couldn't see the edge under snow) and tractor tilted, trapping his arm between roll bar and utility pole. Squashed it good but no real injury. He was lucky.

We got out to grocery store and restocked the fresh stuff. And the LQS is just down a short hill from the chiropractor. Well, everything in town is just up or down hill from everything else. GH is growing but still a small town. Anyway, I got my grey. Would love to have gotten the grunge, CHICKIE, as I, too, love the texture, but they didn't have any. so it's solid Kona, pale grey. So, I sewed the afternoon away on my bears.

IRISH - I'm so sorry about your Kelly. We so love our fur babies, but their loss does leave a big hole. You've been such a good and loving mom to her for a lot of years. Imagine her life if not for you.
Sending you hugs!! On the bright side, you have an egg! But I think it was kind of indelicate to follow that announcement with "having a poached egg for supper". My DFIL's 99th birthday is also Feb 15th. I sure miss him.

BECCA - I agree about the bean soup seasonings. I prefer to use my own. Did you finally get enough of CA's blood? Are you only checking blood sugar? And a good plan, if flu is rampant in your area, to stay home! And I'm sure you carry hand sanitizer if you have to go out in public places. You always seem so on top of everything!

CHICKIE - wow! You were a white tornado in those 3-1/2 months before your Dd's wedding. I only had 4 weeks to pull Lara's together in 1990. But it was very small - 60 guests, she wore her white lacy junior prom dress with handkerchief hemline, and Autumn, her maid of honor, just wore a blue dress out of her closet. I made all the food - salads and sandwich trays, and bought mints and nuts.

JANA - You have really done a good job of weight loss! And I can't even seem to keep off the 5# I lost in Texas this winter! I'm glad Ethan is happier with the Ward changes now. We always enjoyed the coffee and donut social hour with my parents after Mass while the kids attended catechism classes. That Mall sounds enticing! What a fun place to shop! Back in the old mining days, there was an old hotel in Wallace, Idaho. The hills are so steep there that the hotel was built straddling a stream that ran through the bottom floor of the hotel. Of course, it's all defunct now, but the building is still there, as is the stream, I think. Been a lot of years since I saw it.

Well, I already shared my supper plans with you - lasagna. And given how things usually go with lasagna, you'll probably be hearing about it until we're ALL sick of it! lol!!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day!
Mary, I'm glad Bill didn't break anything, what a scare! Happy anniversary to you both!
Jana, happy late birthday to you and Sarah! Congrats on the weight loss!
Becca, I'd stay in for sure with flu being bad.
Chickie, I'm gonna look up your quilt pattern :)
I've just been watching the boys and doing things around the house. Not anything interesting.
You all talked about beans the other day so I made a pot and were they ever good! :) I'm going to go to the store when I go for Easton and see if they might have some little steaks to cook for supper, Dad will be here tonight for supper. We'll also have baked potato, a salad and I'm going to make an apple pie.

Good morning!

Mary - Happy 27th Anniversary! Bill was sure a keeper for you! I think he may have gotten the better end of the deal in you, you are a jewel! Have a great time together today. Ouch- tractors can be so dangerous, so happy he is OK!. Even when Michael is out on our little tractor, I am here for back up, if something happens.

Tina - so glad to see you today. Sounds like my house, with ine or more of the grands around. Enjoy you day with your Dad! Well, Frankie too!

We did our celebrating yesterday, so today will be quiet. Sarah is foing much better with a antibiotic in her system. She was just here and fixed my download embroidery problem. Piece of cake to her, greek to me! I can now decide on which embroideries to make for the quilt top and get threads I need. We also went through some paper pieced wall hangings I have. They are flowers and on the complication scale of a Judi Niemeyer project. But now I feel I can do them. Sarah wants to make some of them too, so we need to copy the placement sheet for her. I bought these patterns 25 years ago! Sheedh, I hang onto things! LOL!

Dinner - something simple. I have chicken to use up, so someth8ng with that.

Happy Valentines Day!

Enjoy,
Jana

If I would have stopped by here first before sending Maryz a PM, I would have noticed that it is your Anniversary!!! Happy Valentine's Anniversary again!
My Dear Hubby took me out for lunch, bought me roses and a sweet necklace of "You have the key to my heart". Tonight we have a Valentine's dance at our clubhouse, so we will eat leftovers and salad for a quick bite before dancing. Have fun everyone, I sure will be. Vel
