SUPPER CLUB - Sunday, Feb 3

Post by purrfect-lady » Sun Feb 03, 2019 4:02 am

Good morning!

Today my older baby girl, Lara, turns 47. They are off for the weekend so we'll meet them for breakfast tomorrow morning to hand over the loot! lol!

Between us, Bill and I had 8 packages to mail so we went to the P.O. yesterday morning to use the self-serve machine in the lobby. They got a new one while we were gone, plus rates went up and practices have changed. Argghhh! The machine didn't work nearly as well as the old one. And the prices were outrageous if you didn't use Priority packaging. So we mailed two, took Priority boxes home and repackaged everything and Bill used Click and Ship on the internet. Then we had to go back to the post office to drop them all in the bin. TWO HOURS we spent mailing packages. I'm glad the post office is only a mile away!

We also shopped for a gift for Lara. Usually we just give cash and everyone is happy. Everyone but me. This year I'm giving my girls jewelry. Lara is getting a tennis bracelet of amethysts (not diamonds! Sorry, Lara.). We hit a 60-% off sale so we could almost afford it!

Today is clean the sewing/quilting rooms and watch the Superbowl. We have no (pig)skin in the game this year, but we'll still enjoy the game and root as hard as we can against New England.

TINA - so? What did you end up doing last night? Dad? Cruces? or Home? I love pancakes. don't make them often. When my brothers were younger they used to argue about which side was supposed to be up on your plate. Albert insisted the smooth side so the hotcakes were pretty on your plate. Gene said the holey side should be up to collect all the melting butter and syrup. Jim, meanwhile, was gobbing up all the cakes as fast as he could while the older boys were arguing!

CHICKIE - I'm glad you were able to help quilter's patch celebrate their birthday! It feels good to help others, doesn't it? lol! I love your charges when you are doing 'day care'. And I bet your charges love you!

BECCA - you really warmed up a lot! Bet that felt good to enjoy the warmth on your back! I think the little ones help to keep us young!

MARY ROSE - now that's a supper!! No catfood!

Becca's spaghetti sounds like of good idea to me for tonite, so I'm thinking that's what we'll be having with meatballs. I bought a big bag of frozen meatballs at Costco. They are better than my homemade and so handy. And I have homemade spaghetti sauce in the freezer, too. I'm almost done making dinner! Just have to cook the noodles and toss a salad! lol! What are you tossing on the table for tonite?

Here I am. I was up early to go let Choc out, came home and sorted laundry and got it started, cleaned the floors, did a quick yoga practice, changed out loads of laundry, and I’m on my second cuppa joe. I carried the first one with me as I was cleaning floors.

I didn’t get my cookies baked yesterday. That’s on the agenda today. My dough is softening now. I’ll be doing laundry and making Choc runs between baking. Oh, and I’ll be making brunch and dinner.

We are gloomy, but going for 60 degrees! It’s so muddy out. I drove to Choc’s this morning, and the dirt roads are so muddy and slick. It’s like driving on ice as the truck wants to slide to the ditches.

DH is back for brunch. Time to get busy again. This was way too short! Dinner tonight will be reruns of the pork chops and apples as well as salad. Bon appétit!

I need to go through the freezer to see what I have that sounds appealing...

Spaghetti does sound good if I have everything to make some.

I'll come back later once I decide what to make.

Hi everyone :)
We got home just in time to get everything put away and sit down to watch the game.
Becca, you'll be happy to hear that they really honored our flag and country, I know I was. Gladys Knight sang and it was beautiful. They showed America while 2 girls sang before her, it was truly honoring America and all 5 branches of the service.
Mary, we ate.....what did we eat....oh, we had bacon, avocado, green chile cheeseburgers cooked on the grill last night and a salad! It was so good! And Dad didn't go to the birthday party but went with my brother John and DSIL and their little 4 year old grandson on the quad thing for all day and they got back so late that he just ate with them.
Chickie, mud bogging now, you live a very exciting life :)
We went to Cruces this morning and got everything we needed and then some, really got some great deals! Best part we had lunch with Kevin, Maria and Matthew! Matthew is talking some, both English and Spanish and he's counting too :)
I picked up some game day finger foods at Sam's and that's what supper will be. Right now I'm watching the game but got all my chicken cut out last night on fusable and can work on that if I want to.
