Supper club - Monday, Jan 21

Good Windy morning !

Wind has come up during the night and the trailer is really rocking and rolling this morning. I’m not sure but this could be an all day event. Tomorrow was predicted to be windy - maybe it’s come early . Bill and I plan to hang in camp all day but my sister and brother-in-law want to take a 200 mile sightseeing excursion. We have seen the sites in this area several times so we will hang back and read The day away. Or, if Bill runs the generator, maybe I will work on sewing some of the FGV blocks I cut out a few weeks ago.

Jana, I sure was sorry to see that you had to do all that ironing. I don’t think we own any clothes anymore that need ironing except a few special shirts. I don’t know if you want to hear this or not, but our crazy neighbor nails quilts up over her windows in the winter since she ripped out her furnace a few years ago 🥶. But it does get the job done! Reverse is true in a hot summer .

Yesterday we grocery shopped and bought some little steaks that we grilled for supper. Tonight, after DS & DBIL Come back we are going to the Olive Garden in town for supper. That’s about all the news I have here. Hope y’all have a tasty supper tonight even if it’s simply a Friday egg sandwich

Good morjing!

Mary - OK, I am now the crazy neighbor? ;)! I will try to behave.

We have snow! And more snow and more snow! Aaron has been on TV and handled more than 45 accidents and slide offs. He called and told me to stay home. Already decided that. Aaron has only been on duty for about 2 hours.

Dinner is leftovers.

Enjoy!
Jana

Good morning! I didn’t make it here over the weekend. Time got gobbled up by other things… We didn’t get any snow from the “big storm”, but it sure got cold!!! I left the house at 7:15 a.m. Saturday to go to the store before meeting my friend for coffee, then lunch with Mom. When I went out to leave, my truck doors were frozen shut from all the rain we’d been having. The wind chill was 3 degrees. DH and the Hooligans were still asleep, so I worked and got my truck open and hit the road. By that time, I was soooo cold! My hands were freezing, and my coffee in a thermal mug had turned almost to ice. On the good side—the roads were not slick!!!

After coming home Saturday and putting my groceries away, I quilted on my friend’s quilt. I quilted yesterday as well while I was doing laundry after cleaning floors and practicing yoga. My quilting is so not perfect, but I’m learning the hand to eye to foot coordination, and my stitches are getting somewhat more consistent and less wobbly. I’m ready to quilt another row, then will mark some more. I’m using a feathered wreath stencil. I like the curves with the straight blocks.

Today should be a little warmer—maybe it will hit the low 40s, but there is a wind warning. Walking to Choc and Ava today will be a workout to keep vertical.

Irish—That’s how I was with that book! I don’t think I want to go on any yachts anytime soon! It kept my attention… and my blood pressure elevated with excitement.

Mary—I’m laughing at your Friday egg sandwich. Although we weren’t Catholic, we had a lot of meatless Fridays, Mondays, Tuesdays, etc. We had a lot of egg dishes from all of Grandma’s chickens. Enjoy your day of relaxing!

Jana—please… keep your snow! I definitely vote for staying inside!

I’m hoping the wind will dry up some of the mud… if the ground thaws. I guess having frozen tundra does keep the mud factor down. The pond has a coating of ice, too. The birds are gobbling seeds like crazy, and so is the fat squirrel. My dogs are not fazed by “Squirrel!!!” They just look at me and wonder why I disturbed their rest.

Dinner tonight… To be determined.

Bon appétit!

Good afternoon from sunny but bitter cold, SW. Pa....I think we might be UP to about 8 and although the wind has died down, I don't want to know what the wind chill is now....Poor Jake was almost ready to come inside last night but then decided to stay in his cat house, which is heated.....Thank goodness a lot of places were closed today, I just hate to think of all the people who did have to go out....But, then we didn't get it as bad as those further north and east of us.....Florida is looking better and better although, it was pretty chilly down there this morning.....

Mary, good idea to stay inside and read or sew or even take a nap....

The kids tell me, my car is excellent in snow, but Ruby and I both would rather stay inside...Poor thing has been spoiled and won't like being parked at the airport while I'm gone but she will be under roof, just not heated....

Jana, hearing about you ironing shirts did bring back memories, good memories and you know, I'd give anything to be doing it again....But, like Mary, not much in the house that needs ironing any more, maybe a little "pressing" once in awhile..The only time the iron gets a real workout is when I'm quilting.....
Thank goodness for those like Aaron, what would we do without them..Prayers for his safety as well as those he helps.....

Chickie, I have a feeling if my car sat outside, I'd never be going any where, even if it does have that starter thingie and heated seats, which I forget about, lol....You are braver than me, going out in nasty weather.....That book is getting better and better and I'm determined to finish it today..I thought about telling Kathy about it but she and Tim just left this morning on a cruise, lol.....

Becca, Hoping things are improving in your neck of the woods...I imagine you've gotten the cold weather but hope, you're all comfy cozy....

Not sure what all I'm going to do today, which probably won't be much...I do have a couple of the old time flannelette blankets in the washer that my sister had given me...She had given me 5 quilt tops that had to have been done years and years ago and I thought, I might use these blankets instead of batting...Just another thing on the "to do" list...I'll need to live to be about 120 to even get half the list done, lol.....

As far as dinner, still have about a bowl of soup left so maybe that fried egg sandwich might be on the menu......

You all have a good day, stay warm and safe.....

Happy eating...........

Hello everyone, sunny & cold here.Supposed to be like this 2 wks.

It was Quilting at Church. They Called me to remind me.So I ventured out.I managed to get 1 completed & came home.Felt That was all I needed to try.
It was so cold our crowd was sparse.

Maryz Sure hope the wind dies down.Especially being in a camper wouldn’t be fun.

Irish I Too wouldn’t brave the cold like Chickie does.Your Reading is like mine.I need another new supply. My DGD brought me a bunch at Christmas.
My Mom used to use old Blankets for lining quilts if they were just to be used uliterian.

Jana I commend you for your ironing.Mine is mostly pressing or mostly when I am sewing. And Aaron doesa good job.Anda thankless one I imagine but so important.
Quilts on windows are better than coldany day.

Chickie You area brave one to get the car unfrozen.Glad you had a good day with Mom & Friend. And Those Hooligans Keep you on your toes.

I am cooking beef stew. Will add onions carrots & potatoes.Hadcookie dough in freezer & baked it.Snickerdoodles. Becca
