Supper club, Wednesday, December 12

Post by purrfect-lady » Wed Dec 12, 2018 1:42 am

Good morning

I am hoping I’ve turned the corner and will live. My ribs are sore from coughing but I slept well last night and feel slightly more energized this morning. Chickie, I think your cure did the trick!

Not a lot happening around here. Yesterday morning we did laundry at the laundromat and after that I slept the afternoon away. Today I have to iron my new outfit. Happily, it is washable. Sadly it is also ironable. 👗 And this little imogee looks almost like my dress.

We haven’t seen hide nor hair of Vicki in our security cameras So I texted Megan to ask how her mom was doing. Megan got married in November and they took Vicki with them for the weekend wedding in northern Puget sound. This is only a few hour drive but they wanted to include her in the festivities. Vicki got very agitated but settled down once she got home again. Then Vicki‘s sister in Nebraska died a few weeks ago so Vicki was upset again but she has stayed at home and not bothered our property. Could be the weather is keeping her inside, too.

CHICKIE - Are you still going pink? It seems purrfect for you! I'm sure you'll find something in your closet to wear to the wedding.

BECCA - I've been thinking of you. Bet you are storm weary by now. How is CA handling it? And how is the generator working out for you?

IRISH - Maybe you should take an empty suitcase and go shopping in FL for a new wardrobe! I don't think I'd want your DBIL's freezers. Wasn't he a taxidermist? . . . .

JANA - I am constantly rearranging my sewing room to give the illusion of more space. Since it's only 10x10 I don't think it really does give that illusion, but it's different so I'm happy. You need to print photos of Fred and Ethyl off the internet to put on your freezers. Did you know that originally the TV show didn't write in the contentious relation ship between F and E but the actors despised each other and couldn't hide it, so the writers had to write in all their 'sniping' lines.

Well, last night I pretended my thick pork chops were a pork roast. Then I pretended the pretend pork roast was a beef roast and added onions, potatoes, and carrots and tossed everything into the crockpot. Just as it was about ready, the guys (Bill, Don, and David) all decided to go out for burgers. Don's wife was doing colonoscopy prep, David's wife is on a very strict and limited keto diet and only cooks for herself, and I'm sick and wasn't hungry. So, dinner is ready to reheat for tonite. I may make a salad.

do you have a plan yet?

I just finished my yoga practice. I kind of slept in a bit this morning and was surprised the sun was up when I awoke. We should have a nice day today before it rains all day tomorrow. And, of course, THAT is the day I’m going for my new hair streak!

Yesterday when we returned from the luncheon, my neighbor and I went with the Hooligans and her two dogs to walk Ava and Choc. We got in three miles. Ava went on her leash to see Choc and another mile. She has so much fun when she’s out like that. Since it’s dark when her parents come home, it’s hard to get in a good walk then. I don’t mind, as I can always use the walking—and the Hooligans as well!

The luncheon was delicious yesterday. The highlight was seeing friends from when I lived there 40 years ago. He is the treasurer of the group now. I had an accounting class from him at the juco, and he was also my Sunday school teacher. His wife was my DD’s teacher, and they adored each other. I took a pic of them together and sent it to DD; and I showed them photos of her and her family.

Mary—Yes, I’m still going pink this time. I was thinking of aqua, but I still love pink. That was nice of Meagan to include her mother in her big day(s)! I’m so glad there is no excitement going on in your neck of the woods when you are in the foot! It’s good to have your dinner ready for tonight! Hope you get to feeling better!

Irish—I like how you pack… just like me! I change and change, too! And, why carry extra clothes down there when you can shop and leave there. Be sure to check out the thrift stores! I hate “deep” freezers! I have a chest one. They may not be as efficient, but they are safer and it’s MUCH easier to find things on shelves and not in the bottom. Oh, I’m sure Kathy is BUSY! ‘Tisthe season! I would love a new grocery store! My DD really likes their Aldi.

Jana—my freezer is about as disorganized as I am. I need to do a complete clean out again. I’m thinking of re-doing my sewing room after the first of the year. I want to be warm, too!

Dinner tonight will be the tortilla soup unless DH wants something different that is easy and doesn’t require a long thaw time. My throat seems to be a bit sore this morning, and soup will be dandy as far as I’m concerned!

Bon appétit!

Good morning!

Just got Ethan off to school and the k7tchen straightened back up. I made several batches of cranberry nut bread - my Aunt's recipe from the 60's for goodie gifts to my neighbors. F7dge, divinity, and russian teacakes are a today possibility. Tomorrow Sarah and I are doing the decorated cookies. The last cookie to bake will be just before Christmas. Chewy cookies - they are a brownie like cookie, but no chocolate. More of a caramel or blonde brownie. Easy to make and Santa won't leave a present without a chewy cookie on the plate.

Dinner - nothing fell out yesterday, so I will see today. I had spring vegetable rolls in the freezer upstairs, so they were dinner.

Mary - I always rearranged everything, when I was young! But now, this house tends not to be much in changing where things go. Lots of open space, but still need walking space. The Batt Cave is a work in progress as some of the train tables encroach into the family space. Not by much, just a few inches, so until they are built, things get moved down there.

Well, laundry needs to be started and what ever else kind of trouble I can get into. Not much, except in the house, it is snowing hard. The roads were covered in about 20 minutes and it is coming down faster now.

Enjoy,
Jana

Hello everyone,WOW is all I can say about what we have been thru. Our road we live on & the road we join Looks like a war zone.I haven’t seen anything like it ever not even when we had the blizzard with 3 ft of snow. This started as ice ,snow & was. A very wet snow .It Broke trees, power poles & lines like tooth picks. Our neighbor had 2 trees on his house & went Thru the roof.He is staying in his motor Home. His house was 33 inside. We Just got our power back on.We got the generator in just in time.We have been out since Saturday night.

And it’s been a circus here with Them checking to make sure the generator was doing fine,DGS checking on us,Neighbors checked too.And DH Trying to help out neighbor all he could checking on things for him.The kind of excitement you can live without. Its been soup here each day.Tomorrow I will get back in the groove.Im doing laundry now as it was overflowing.
Chickie I see you are still walking the Hooligans & Getting your outfit ready for wedding.

Maryz Sorry you have been sick. And glad to hear Vicky had an outing & is staying in.

Jana Ethan is definitely a helper. And Glad the concert went well.

I had to go for my checkup today. Our Dr is moving to take care of her parents. In another State. We hate to loose her but she is sending us to the best they have. She has talked us both over with her & she will treat CA just as she did.All other pain patients she is sending to pain management. We feel very blessed she is looking out for us.Shes a great Dr.She has helped CA get more on track than he was.Very grateful for that.
Well now you know our life history And I bored you Needlessly.
Have a great meal. Becca
