SUPPER CLUB - Friday, Sept 28
Good morning,
It feels so balmy out! 55* with a full moon. I have the door to the deck open which the 'boys' love because then they can stroll in and out at will. Saves me a lot of trips to serve their whims.
I had fun yesterday with my new machine, "Evelyn". I made a little thing for my Elf and then started a bigger thing. Maybe today I can finish the bigger thing.
But first, I have uglies to do, Costco, regular grocery, flu shots, pick up the mail, and a stop at the drug store for some gift bags. Then we are meeting our Happy Hour friends at the Mexican restaurant about 3:30 while it's still warm enough to sit on the patio. We'll have a light dinner next to the fountain and visit for an hour or two. They are the friends who came by with KFC last Monday and who will be going camping with us next week.
If Vicki is gone for a 72-hour involuntary psych hold, it ends at 5pm today. We are curious to see if she returns then. Her back yard flood lights are on this morning. Yesterday was no lights at all, and day before both front and back lights were on. I don't think they are motion sensor, but we've seen no sign of anyone there, unless she did return and is staying holed up in her house. Verrry Interrresting . .
TINA - ALL of our cameras are aimed at that side of our property!
lol! Glad you finally got your day straightened out. Was it just the 'day' or is this the schedule now until Adam goes to work? How come you still are babysitting the kids when their dad is home? Will Frankie's DB and SIL eventually move to their property? Kevin's wedding is coming up soon, isn't it? Like in a week or two? and what's the latest on your sister? do you know if she is still in town or has she moved on?
BECCA - Did you find anything in the woods where CA thought he heard animals fighting? I was on the deck yesterday afternoon when I heard a panicked squeaking and looked out on the grass and there was Foxtrot with a baby bunny in his mouth. and Scottie dancing right beside him. Bill ran from one direction and I ran from the deck. the bunny got away and I scooped up the kitty but Scottie kept chasing the poor thing. He finally got under some tractor implements where he was safe and we brought both pets inside. See - we have wildlife here, too. But the wild part is our pets!!
JANA - I have little train engine earrings complete with tiny cow catchers on the front. I rarely wear them and think of you each time I do. I got them 20 years ago at the Sacramento Train Museum. If you had pierced ears I was going to let you have them. for your DH to admire when he gazes upon his lovely bride. Hope Sarah's day goes more smoothly today! I understand your toilet seat syndrome. Here, we call it "Sequences" after a short humorous story written by Patrick McManus.
IRiSH - so, what's the furniture situation now? Did you get your chairs? As Chickie said, a couch is probably not far behind! lol!
Do they have a carpet install date for you? I would hope, after their glaring error, they would have stamped that order IRISH RUSH!
Tonite we'll be at the Mexican restaurant for happy hour with Gus & Claudia. We all love going late enough to get hh prices but early enough that we are home in time for the evening news! Could we possibly be any older?! lol!! I believe I'll have one of their specialty salads. We'll see what Billious orders when he orders it.
What's bubbling in your pot tonite?

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Friday, Sept 28
Good afternoon from sunny but still chilly, SW. Pa...But, with the sun, it sure makes a person think they should do something, (should being the word).....
Mary, you do have a mystery going on next door, don't you? Thank goodness it's been calm, at least for a couple of days...AND now you have a new toy, we might not see or hear from you for days....AND no, I don't have a date for the carpet, yet...BUT, I will be making a phone call today...I need to get the dining room back in order and get the living room cleaned, winter drapes hung before the furniture comes...Which means, I guess I should stay home and get er done, right????
Tina, hope your days get easier, you really had me confused...But, it is hard to say no, when it comes to your kids....
Becca, we too have wild life, just take a look at my lilies or what is supposed to be lilies, lol...But, I really do enjoy seeing the deer, not so much the ground hogs but they do seem to be a part of my family any more....
Yesterday there was a Mass for Jim and my DDIL, Chris's wife was there so we had to have breakfast...She's doing very well, mostly taking care of her parents but also told me, there is a fellow (neighbor) who has been giving her the eye...The fellow has lived close by for 2 years and was just waiting for the right time, didn't want to intrude....But, she seems so happy and I had told her, it's about time, she's too young to be alone...We really had a nice visit....Then my sister called and asked if I was stopping by...Her carpet was installed and I did want to see it and that meant lunch, right?
Last night, had a call from Nick and we were on the phone for almost an hour....Every once in awhile, he just needs to talk to Grammy and Grammy loved every minute.....
Might actually clean the upstairs today (might)...Not sure what dinner might be but it might be soup....
You all have a great day.....
Happy eating..........

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Friday, Sept 28
Good afternoon!
Been busy sewing down bindings. My eyes are going buggy! Still have three to go. Might mosey on down to the Batt Cave and finish the last tote I am making. It takes more time to fuse the fleece than to sew them. I fixed the handles on the one I did wrong. Did think about leaving it wrong, but that thought didn't last very long! Still need to load my Halloween quilt.
Sarah is doing better today from the hornet sting. I am picking up Ethan from school as it is the first day of the pumpkin festival at the farm. This is the most farm item that they sell each year. Kate, Aaron's wife is working the pumpkin season for Sarah as well. It is all hands on deck for the next couple of weeks. Schools do field trips and families come out in droves!
Dinner is in the unkown recipe file as of right now. Just need to see what I am in the mood for at dinnertime.
Mary - what a thoughtful person you are! Those earrings sound darling! I know the Sacramento museum well. When the kids were little and Michael's grandparents lived in West Sacramento, just across the river, we would visit them and the museum about twice or three times a month! Daniel takes Karlie there all the time too.
Irish - it won't be long and everything will be new and fresh for Christmas. Stu is like Nick, needs Grandma too. When he is home, he hides out here in the Batt Cave with Grandpa.
Well need to do something, clean up the kitchen or head to the Batt Cave where I can't see the mess in the kitchen! Humm.......
Enjoy,
Jana

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Friday, Sept 28
Good afternoon! The moon was amazing here last night! We were driving back late from meeting friends for dinner. The huge orange orb was just above the horizon. I am sure Lucy would have thought the Great Pumpkin was rising from the pumpkin patch!
I don’t think I got here yesterday. We had errands to run in town, my computer to take in to get the e-mail back (no charge!), and an eye exam for me. I’m getting new glasses to wear when I’m not wearing my contacts. My vision hasn’t changed, so I get another fashion accessory! I love glasses and my contacts and my readers (I have lots of them, too).
Today the Hooligans pestered me for a walk, and we put in 2.5 miles, stopped and visited with Ava, and surprised her mommy coming home from work. I also did some deep cleaning—had to get on it when DH helped! We then went to Mound Valley and picked up my truck. She’s sporting a new head liner! She also had the climate control motor replaced and the cruise control module replaced. All done, and it’s still much cheaper than one payment on a new one.
Mary—sorry your neighbor is back home. Ugh! Oh! Lucky you, Mexican food! We were supposed to meet DH’s former co-workers today at Mexican, but it was cancelled when the girl coming from Kansas City was sick. I’m squealing with delight for you with your new Evelyn Lea!
Tina—you have way too much to keep track of with your schedule! So exciting to have another wedding! When is it?
Becca—were the deer sparing in the woods? I used to hear them in our woods when I was in Missouri. It’s a little early for the full rut season. Might have been raccoons, too.
Jana—those hornet stings are painful, not to mention the swelling. I’ve gotten stung so many times over here. It usually has to do with my hanging out laundry, but I have been stung when picking berries or tomatoes. I usually take a Benadryl to help with the swelling, soak in vinegar or tea tree oil, and bemoan my plight. My DD used to go to the pumpkin farm on school field trips. My DGD did from pre-school as well. They offered photo sessions, too.
Irish—hope you get that carpet date! How nice to have lunch with your sis! Love your attitude with Chris’s wife!!! You are special!!! Sounds like something may be in the works there. Soup is always good!
Sorry this is short. It’s late, and I want to sew a bit, but first I need to pay some bills. Dinner tonight will be leftovers from last night. Mostly it will be beef tips from me and a little of DH’s unmentionables. I also have baked potatoes, but I’m thinking I’ll make soup from them.
Bon appétit!

Hi all
Mary, I'm not sure if DSIL and DBIL will be moving here or not, they used to come visit several times a year but always stayed in a hotel. They've owned the property for about 30 years and when my DFIL passed away in 2011 they started developing their land with well, septic and electricity and then find one of those tiny mobile homes. I enjoy their visits.
Kevin's wedding is next Saturday! I start making cookies Thursday, anybody that wants to come help is more than welcome.
Adam is not a good kid watcher taker care of. He sent Easton to school without feeding by him anything at all for breakfast! Poor Easton has had a rough 24 hours! Preston bit him badly on the back and poor guy ran into a post on the playground today and busted his lip, has a black eye and a huge bruise down his cheek.
Irish, maybe they delivered your carpet to your sister?
Mary, I'm sorry they didn't keep your neighbor.
We went out to lunch today, what a treat that was! I weed eated my back yard after my walk today, still need to water and do some clean up....probably after the kids go home.
Oooh I'm watching the kids because he's not capable of it. He almost burnt their house down last month when he caught a pan on fire on the stove where he was making something for lunch. If Holly hadn't been there they probably would've lost their house.....he panicked and didn't know what to do.
Leftover soup might be supper so I can get the backyard finished.

Becca, I love picking apples and then making all sorts of things and eating apples! Yum!
Chickie, Kevin and I were just having that same conversation about Kevin's truck, it's an 1995 I think, it used to be Holly's but after Kevin's was stolen and totaled he bought hers because she wasn't using it and their trucks have sentimental value, we bought them used for them when they got their drivers licenses....Kevin was heartbroken the most when his was totaled because we had given it to him. Anyway he had to put a new AC system on last month and just this week had to put in a new ignition switch. Thankfully he's pretty savvy and Frankie tells him over the phone what to do and he'll even find videos online to help him. Oh they close on their house the 16th unless that changes.
