SUPPER CLUB - Thursday, Sept 27
Good morning!
No news on Vicki other than yesterday morning, her outside yard lights were all on and this morning, no lights. We haven't seen her but she could be there. We have no windows on the side of the house that faces hers so if people come and go, we don't really know it unless we happen to be in the yard or craning our necks from front-facing windows. Which, admittedly, we do. Often. Because - you know . . .
In other news, I guess I bought a new sewing machine - a Bernina 480. a new model out. No embroidery or anything like that. I really have no interest in anything but quilting and the occasional simple garment. They are offering $500 off MSRP, and our dear Tina found a $200 coupon on the Bernie website so the store will honor that, too. This totals 25% off. Plus, they are throwing in a 1/4" foot to seal the deal. We're going into Tacoma today to test drive it and if all goes well, it will be mine. And my old Bernie (almost 10 years old) will become my travel machine. Not sure why I'm doing this other than finally, they turned my head! The saleslady at the shop has been trying to sell me a new machine for years, every time I drop mine off for service. Bill says I should name my new machine "Evelyn" after her! This will teach him to allow me to go along when we drop "Stitch" off for spa week! lol!
LINDA - You must love gardening as much as you love quilting and Featherweights. I wish I did! Glad you've finally gotten your shower tiles sorted out and replaced. A designer that dares to call themselves a 'designer' should really know better. Did you have to pay for the replacements? Have fun camping! We're taking a 4-night trip to the WA coast near Westport next week, just as you are getting back.
CHICKIE - lalalalalalala ! you are right! I don't want to hear what you had for supper last night! I went all 12 years to a private school in Tacoma. Mom drove us - 2 round trips every day - 13 miles each way - until she finally got a job as school librarian. so I've only ridden a school bus once in my life - with my kids on a field trip to Seattle to see the Nutcracker Ballet.
JANA - Mike and I lived in Denver for a short period about 44 years ago and our ham operator neighbor came over our record player! I think now their radios have better technology. I like to use fusible fleece for totes. And when I applique pieces larger than a few inches, I only fuse the outer borders of those pieces. I cut out the center of the fusible before I fuse it to the fabric. Does that make sense? BTW, do you have pierced ears? I do have a reason for asking.
TINA - your veggie soup sounds delish even though it's not my favorite. I love bean, potato, broccoli, chicken noodle even more! thanks for the info you've garnered about Lea. So sad.
IRISH - your mini=recliner sounds purrfect for me! hard to find furniture that fits, I'm so short. Either my feet stick straight out or I have to pile pillows at my back. Some friends gave Bill a huge leather recliner they no longer wanted. He loves that chair but now our furniture just doesn't fit in the room and I'm left to sit on the end of the couch that was comfy in the store, but feels more like a bed of nails to spend an evening on. I have to have a footstool and even then I keep slipping down. Pillows make it worse. I was all set to give it to my grandson and buy something different when this new Bernie showed up and made my eyes shine. So we'll keep our couch another year.
BECCA - I bet your little one is cute toddling around on her tippy toes! I've been told that I, too, was a toe walker. Maybe I was short from the get-go and was trying harder to reach the mischief!
As for supper - it's going to be either chicken or pizza. Or maybe chicken pizza! Time will tell!
and you?

Good morning
Mary, I was going to ask you about Vicki, of any news yet, I see there's not yet. Do you have cameras on that side of the house so you can peak without being seen? I say now too if she isn't home.
Our day has been rearranged 5 times now. Adam quit his job, he did get hired at the mine but he put his 2 weeks notice before he actually got the job so he's out of work until the 8th when he starts at the mine and so now it's gonna be at least a month that he gets no paycheck at all. Anyway, he's home but we're still watching the boys....then we weren't watching them, then we were till 11 and we'd take Easton to school but Adam would pick him up, that way we'd feed him breakfast....Holly showed up with just Preston, then said Adam would get Easton at 11:30 and get Preston, then Adam called and asked where Easton's school is (he didn't know), then asked if we'd pick him up and he'd come get them at 2, But that's there nap time so I still don't know what time they'll go home. I was going to go ahead and do my backyard when I wasn't going to have theboys but now I'll wait till this evening for that. Dad is coming for supper tonight so we might have chicken. Frankie's sister and BIL is coming this weekend and they'll be here for 2 weeks ding things at their place.

Oh yay on getting the new Bernie!!!!!!!!!

TINA - sounds like you need to just simply tell Adam when to come get the boys instead of letting him vacillate over times. Sounds like whatever time he says he's coming by won't happen anyway. Do the in-laws stay with you when they come too work on their property or do they have a house or RV there? I should get in my yard, too. I keep talking myself out of it.

Good morning!
Mary - no I don't have pierced ears. A new toy! What fun! Hopefully the learning curve of a new machine won't slow you down too much. Sometimes a sale is just too good to pass up. That is why I got my new Pfaff last year.
Tina - I hate when changes are made, then changed again! Hope things get on track quickly for you and the boys.
Irish - what is going on with getting the new carpet and furniture, is called in my house, the toilet seat syndrome. You see it started with a padded toilet seat my MIL bought as a Christmas present for her Dad. He couldn't just put it on, he had to paint the bathroom first, the decided that the floor needed to be changed out, then came the shower curtain, then the window curtains, towels and it then spread out to the rest of the house! Watch out! LOL!
Sarah has a terrible start to her day with work related items, so I will be getting Ethan from school this afternoon. The sod delivery trucks had some major issues and Sarah is handling all the fallout.
I am heading to the Batt Cave to sew some more. I bought a new pair of scissors to be able to cut the edges for my raag Chtistmas quilt. Need sharp tips and my other pairs need to be sharpened. Many edges to cut!
Dinner - either tomato soup and grilled cheese or out, depending on what time the class we are taking finishes tonight.
Enjoy!
Jana

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Thursday, Sept 27
I popped back on to see what's going on.
I told him to come over after Jazmyne gets off the bus so he did.
My SIL and BIL have their own place, it's a really short mobile home, like half length. I enjoy when they come over. We usually eat a couple times with them and visit for hours.
We had baked chicken, baked potato and peas for supper.
