Supper club - tHURSDAY, Sept 20

Post by purrfect-lady » Thu Sep 20, 2018 2:09 am

Good morning!

If you see Judi around the forum, it's her birthday today so give her a high five!

Yesterday our ride was short. 12.5 miles into it we realized it was going to be a near duplicate of the one we'd taken the day before, so we and my sis and DBIL and their friends all dropped out to do our own thing. the friends went on an 80-mile adventure and Al & Tina and I came back to camp. They all napped and I read. Then Tina and I went to the DI thrift shop and the quilt shop. I had some fun! At the thrift shop I picked out several things that caused me to smile. We plan to stay at friends' in Oregon on our way home. They won't be there but offer up the RV spot they have for visitors. We are going to decorate their yard. a stuffed toucan to hang in a tree, a fishing net float to toss into their little pond, two wooden deer, wooden apples to sprinkle under a big non-apple tree, and a gnome-like little troll. Other stuff, too. They will know we've been by . . .

IRISH, sorry about another loss in your family. But happy for you in your home improvements when they finally get there. and Terry's new home.

BECCA - I love cooking and doing for my son and I'm sure you love doing it for yours, too!

TINA - we take a lot of breaks which is why it takes all day to go 80 miles. We average about 12 miles per hour. But you probably wouldn't like this. Not for everyone!

JANA - Ethan will love being able to see so much better that he'll not mind the glasses at all!

CHICKIE - are you there? What's going on in your world?

I think tonite we're going out to eat at a little retaurant my sis and BIL like.

Mary, sounds like so much fun at the rally. I love going to thrift shops. Hope you found treasures.
We went out for pizza with two other couples. One couple is making this year their last ( they sold their park model), so we went out to eat to celebrate them and let them know they will be missed.
So left over pizza tonight with a salad before dancing. Ibuprofen will keep me without discomfort. :).

Good morning :)
We've been having pretty steady rain since bedtime last night. It was in the low 70's when we got up and it was too warm for me especially with thehouse all closed up but it's cooled off some now and I have Windows open and ceiling fans going.
Mary, I'd probably be good for 30 minutes but not much bumps ;) you can come decorate my yard anytime :)
I've just put a big pot of chicken tortellini soup on, it might be lunch and supper.
Tina

Oh it's Mary Rosebud's birthday today too :)

Hello everyone,sunny & mid 80s here.
Got an early start this morning.Errands day.Got Groceries & had to get my shots. When I got back I was pooped. But jumped in after putting up all I bought,And made lunch.DS come too as he is going hunting in Illinois with his DB early afternoon.
Then watered the plants. My hummers are getting less too.

A friend is coming later this afternoon to visit.

Maryz I think you were very wise to back away from the group.Your outing sounds like more fun.One day of riding would do me in.The Thrift Store must have been a good one.oh I love trying to fix what DS will eat.

Tina Enjoy your day & your soup sounds good.I need to make us a pot too.

Velda Sure sorry your back is acting up.I have to watch mine now bec it’s been used & abused too much.Rest helps.

Irish Seems At our age you do get to wear those Funeral clothes a lot.I just saw online where one of our friends passed away.

Chickie You must be rounding up hooligans or something.

We have leftovers of rice & stew beef with mushrooms onions & peppers.I cooked it slow in crock pot.Was tasty.

Good afternoon!

Beautiful day here - slight wind and just right temps!

Got to see my Aaron in action today as he was at work. On the news they showed a four car pile up that tied up traffic this morning. Well, who do you think was right there with his Incident Management truck helping out? Yep Aaron! He loves doing things like this - a job right up his alley!

Dinner - either out because of class or we have taco soup leftover.

I am here in the Batt Cave, thinking about sewing, but haven't quite got there yet! LOL

Enjoy,
Jana

Good afternoon! I'm baaaaaack! I was out of commission when m computer quit on me last weekend. I was typing when it did a quick fade to black and nothing after that. It went to the repair shop Tuesday afternoon, and I retrieved it today. Of course, on the way I had to leave my truck for repairs, but not at the computer shop! On Saturday as I was coming home from Mom's, the AC/Defrost/Heat fan quit working. I was one hot mess when I finally got home! We are still 90 degrees here, so no AC will not do. Of course, I can't do without defrost or heat either when they are required. I'm also getting a new headliner put in.

Our hunters arrived Monday with first day of bow season (deer). Mike brought two new friends with him--super nice guys! One's mom is a quilter, and I hope she will contact me after I gave him all my info. Today is their last day here, and I made them brunch--Dutch baby apple pancake, sausage patties, maple syrup and juice. They requested copies of the recipe, so they enjoyed!

I haven't been doing much sewing. I started reading "The President Is Missing" and couldn't put it down--had my nose in it every chance I got! I finally finished it when we got back from all the running this afternoon. Thank you, Irish!!! It kept my attention!!! The "could this happen?" was really thought provoking.

Pam--sorry you didn't like your veggie pasta. I really like my zoodles with zucchini or squoodles with my summer squash. I've been making egg foo yung with them instead of canned bean sprouts.

Becca--so glad all is well in your area! They are still showing so much damage and projecting more to come. Those poor people!!!

Jana--good to know there is a younger generation that knows the importance of "thank you"! Sounds like Aaron is in his element!

Mary--keep having fun! Remind me to be home when you arrive here!!!

Vel--Will your friends buy a home somewhere so you can visit? I often wondered what people did when they tired of "the road" life or weren't physically able to do it any more.

Dinner tonight--we have some leftover hamburgers from eating at the corner with the hunter guys yesterday. It will be those, or maybe a steak for DH and egg foo yung with a side salad for me. For some reason that really sounds yummy.

Bon appetit!
