SUPPER CLUB - Saturday, June 9
Good morning!
I'm up EARLY today. And no one to blame it on but myself. But I'm telling the kids they have to wait on their breakfast until at least 4:45. It's not going over too well.
I'm not sure what my day holds. Except that we have to go over and feed Duchess, Scottie's friend who walks with us most mornings. She's a white German Shepherd and her parents are gone for the weekend.
IRISH, you and your sister have sure had a rough go of it since the first of the year. Please hug her for me. A vacation to Virginia sounds just like what the good daughter ordered! How far is that for you? I suppose I could look it up on a map. But you know lazy me! Would you drive in your snazzy new gem? Or fly? Or?
LINDA, I'm so sorry your sick. Again! Or do you think it's 'still'? I hope you are completely well before you go to your guild meeting. You sure don't want to infect anyone else. This sounds awful. I know there is a really rough virus going around the country.
CHICKIE, i believe your yoga will help you regain some flexibility, make you healthier and happier. But it won't make you 6' tall! I'd just like to be 5' tall! lol! Sometimes I stand on a stool in my kitchen and look around and 'play' tall. It's amazing! A whole different world! What are you thinking for your modern swap? I got some black fabric with bright stars on it that might make a good backing.
BECCA - I'm glad you think the rolling stool will help your back. Most of my yard work is raking and kneeling on my hands and knees pulling up a zillion little maples, Not much shrub trimming here. Nice that your DB and his lady friend are coming to visit you. Sounds like she might be becoming more than just a friend . . ;o)
Our alfredo last night was deliciious. But there is some sauce left, so I might do something with chicken tonite. And salad.
What do you think you might do?

Good morning!
What started out as a quiet day, no l9nger us! Stu is here and digging the two trenches by my barn, so we can mive the electrical and water to build the playset. They are not wide trenches and not too long either. Stu has the whacker running getting the clump of weeds out of his way.
Dinner - something easy and not needing to heat up my kitchen. Probably a chef salad.
Enjoy,
Jana

Good afternoon from a warm, slightly over cast, sometimes sunny, SW. Pa...Just not sure what might be happening, weather wise, today...We had more rain last night (just what we needed).....
Mary, my heavens, you are up before the birds or the sun, aren't you? This morning about 5:30, nature was calling so gently moved Baby Girl and trotted to the bathroom...When I got back, she gave me the nasty, "how dare you disturb me" look and rolled over..AND we stayed in bed until 8:00, which was kind of late but nice....
I haven't heard from my sister yet today but they might be moving her DH to the home...Yep, we have had a "not too nice" start to the year but, it will be better...But, you know, seeing what she and her DH are going through, Jim, always thinking of someone else, made it very easy for me...You know when you look around, there are so many who have it so much worse than you....Don't always feel that way, especially in the evening, but it's true....
Becca, good you have someone who will help you with those chores..Also glad to hear your new little garden toy is working out. Our yard is pretty hilly and I could just see me trying to use something like that and finding my self at the bottom of the hill..If ever I move, the house will have a level yard or no yard at all....I looked out yesterday and the neighbor boy was mowing my yard which I was so thankful....Normally, it's his Mom but she told him, if he wants her to drive him around he has to earn it..(I have a feeling he's going to be getting his driver's license real quick, lol...I love hearing about your family.....
Well, I just heard some rumbles of thunder so I guess we'll be getting a storm, again...I had talked to Nick yesterday and he planned on coming over and doing some tree trimming and other things on my list but this might put a damper (sorry the pun) on things...Of course maybe I shouldn't have told him to sleep in.....I did bribe him with the real mac n cheese (the one in the blue box) so he'll be here some time today....
Yesterday was a fun day, had lunch with 2 friends and then walked through Target and would you believe a package of little girlie onesies jumped into the buggy...Cari and DH will be going on this vacation and I'll be so anxious to see how much bigger the baby bump has grown...
And speaking of this trip, Kathy told me it's called Massanuten resorts and it's in Virginia, that's all I know...Not sure yet if I'm driving, riding, walking or thumbing.....
I guess everyone else is busy...Hoping you all have a super Saturday.....
Our dinner might be mac n cheese and maybe burgers if Nick gets here, if not, haven't a clue....
Happy eating...............
Sorry I stepped on you Jana.....Sounds like you really do have a project happening at your house....

Good afternoon! It’s warm and muggy here. Mom and I had a good lunch. She doesn't like Mexican food, but she does like taco salads. I'm happy to oblige!
Linda—you poor thing! Be sure to keep hydrated! A friend had flu and didn’t hydrate enough and got crazy acting and hospitalized for rehydration. Do be careful!
Irish—I love your vacation plans! You have a wonderful DD! We look like rain, but it’s wheat harvest around here, so we don’t need any! I agree with what you said about others having it so much worse… I’m thinking of you flying down the hill on a yard cart! My giggle of the day! How nice of you to have someone to mow your yard!
Mary—darn! I really do like being tall and want to be taller! But, I’ll still do yoga even if I can’t be 6’ tall! I’m thinking maybe black sashing with colored “stones” to let the blocks shine. I’m not sure what backing would be yet… something scrappy, I guess.
Becca—enjoy the visit! We wait for next installment… Anything that makes yard work easier is a plus! I hate weeding!
Jana—wow! That’s going to be some playset!!! I vote for heat saving “cooking”!
Dinner tonight… some pre-cooked morsels (leftovers) of some type… plus salad for me!
Bon appétit!
P.S. I took Mom's quilt to her yesterday on my way to see DD. After a few "you shouldn't have" and "I don't need it, take it back", I showed her the label: To Mom "Japanese Tea Garden Memories" love Me. Then... joy of joy! She loved it! She decided she didn't want it on her chair, but she will use it over her legs when she gets cool sitting in her chair. I took her a chicken dinner on my way home last evening, and she was still liking it. Today when I was there for lunch... still likes it! Thank you Mary!!!
P.P.S. The date for the next wedding is December 15.
