SUPPER CLUB - Monday, May 28th

Post by purrfect-lady » Mon May 28, 2018 2:26 am

Good morning!

Birds are really chatting things up this morning! I'm going to take that as a good omen for the day.

Yesterday was laundry, kitchen cabinets, pantry, trailer kitchen, and finishing all my sixteen 12-15 snowman blocks. Today I hope to start getting them together. It's the last of my three Christmas quilts. Now if only I could get them quilted . . . .

JANA - congrtulations on your new assignment! I know you will do excellently. After all, you're Sarah's mother and she had to get her own excellence from somewhere, right?

PAM - gotta ask - what are wedding beans? Are they anything like funeral potatoes?

BECCA - I'm happy for your son to be looking at starting a new, happy life. But sad for you that he plans to move away. That's too bad about your hubby having such a difficult time. I hope he's improved some by now and breathing easier.

BECKY - Wasn't that a party! lol! But at least it's done - for now. Nice that you had such a good turnout of the younger generation. I'm not sure what "Issues" your Erika is having, but has she been worked up for other digestive diseases like Chrohn's Disease, IBS, etc?

We still have some ribs left but to be honest, they aren't my favorite thing. So much work for so little reward. And that little reward is red meat, not my favorite thing. But I do like the BBQ sauce! lol! So I don't know if Bill wants to gnaw on them some more or if he wants to move on to smething like tacos or pizza or chicken. But those will be his choices.

What are your choices for tonite?

Good morning, all this talk about ribs and guess what we are having. Ribs are DH specialty. He usually does that in a slow oven, but today he is going to try the gas grill.

Irish, I always love hearing from you. You always seem to brighten my day. CHIP for dinner... Gotta love it. Wish I could have chips and dip, but it is not on my diet.

When I get my infusions, I put on 3 lbs and have a week to get it off for my next weigh in. Seeing I get 2 infusions in a month two weeks apart, I put on 3 lbs and get it off the next week, put on another 3 lbs and again have a week to get off. You would think that it is easy to get off, but really it is not.....I have the 3 lbs off today, but now I have to watch everything that goes in my mouth in order to have a loss this Thursday. So far I have lost 20 lbs. but these infusions are getting in my way. BUT THEY WORK 😁

MaryZ you are like a tornado, leaving hardly anything in its wake. You have more energy than a puppy. Lol

Becca, I am praying for you and DH. It is hard to see you DH suffer and having to pick up all his jobs around the house. I will never take him for granted ever again. Well, maybe not today at least.

Are you ladies playing the double letter game on this site. I love it, in fact I am addicted to it. Take a moment and take a look

Love to all,

Carole with an e.

Good morning!

Yesterday, being rusty, I did well in being the chorister. Had a extra surprise, my good organist was ill and called a substitute. I knew who she was, but never had met her. She was abosolutely fantastic! She knew Sarah, from Sarah's choir performing at the prison. This new organist, had been serving in a church calling at the prison for the prisoners Sunday Services. The music gene skipped me. Sarah has great grandparents and a grandmother who were very musical. Sarah's great grandfather had a men's chorus, equal to the Mormon Tabernacle choir on the radio each Sunday morning in California for more than 20 years. If tbis great grandfather had stayed in Utah, he would have been one of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir directors, but employment took him to California. Sarah is definetly following in his footsteps.

Today is a few uglies. I am also drafting a pattern to help a girl in the Ward who has a non-verbal autisic son, about Ethan's age. This little boy has learned to strip naked and try to streak the neighborhood, much to his mom's embarassment. It is nice to use some of the small talent I have in doing this.

Dinner - well, the patty melts are still awaiting me, so that will be dinner.

Sarah and Aaron and their families are heading up to Logan this morning to decorate and clean the headstone of DH's father and mothrr, ie, their grandparents. Aaron found a Marine Corp flag to place beside the American flag in honor of his grandfather.

Today is special to remember all our ancestors and those who served and are serving. Thank you!

Enjoy!

Hello, everybody. It is beautiful weather, again today, in WNY. I plan to play in the dirt some more and move around some branches.

Supper is already made. Just need to heat it up. I took it out of the freezer. It is ravioli and stuff. Don't remember what the stuff was.

When we were planning the menu for my wedding, I had made a dish from a co-worker. It was chunks of keilbasa in a chili sauce and cranberry sauce mixture. We happened to be having beans at that same dinner. Dad mixed the two together, and said this is really good. You should make this for your wedding. We did.

Today is going to reach mid 90's. I wanted to walk early but DH said he wasn't even awake yet. I told him I won't do it later because I have to finish dehydrating the peaches and nectarines I bought on Friday. Couldn't do them with the apricots because one of my dryers quit. The new one has arrived already. I researched them online and this one is stainless steel and has high ratings. Haven't washed it up and used it yet but will soon.

Since coming home I haven't been up to par, low energy and feel kind of yucky, no appetite. There is so much to do, but I can only do one thing, then sit down and rest. Hope it goes away soon.

Not much else going on here, you all are busy as usual. My father used to say that the purpose of life was to "process materials". So keep processing away...LOL

Thank you to all who served our country and to the families who supported them.

Dinner...at this point I don't even want to think about food. Hope I have the appetite to eat whatever DH has planned.
