SUPPER CLUB - Sunday, May 20th
Good morning,
I woke up about 3:30 and tried to go back to sleep, but finally gave up and got up about 4:15. The kids think it's automatically their breakfast time if I get out of bed for any reason. I think I'm going to get them all wrist watches.
Yesterday was frittered away with little things. Finished the last of the trailer stuff - I had things like coffee pot, pet dishes, etc in the dishwasher to return to the trailer. Then I put my "Chef Alec" labels on the apron and hat I made my DGS, washed fabric I found while camping and also one big backing. Bill and I did a bit of erranding, and then I helped him run wire to install a back-up camera on the trailer. Finally, we went to our friends for an early dinner. Scottie is always invited to their house, too, so he was happy about that! And then they let him lick the dishes. Very hospitable folks!
Today - if I can get Bill's help I want to load the orange bargello and get started on that. If that doesn't happen, then I'll go back to work on my Christmas quilts. Bill will mow today while the kids have Vicki out to brunch. It's also her birthday so I'm sure they'll be gone a bit longer than usual.
PAM - there is a lot to quilting! Did you know that Warm and Natural has a different sides? the bumpy side goes down, or towards the back of the quilt.
BECCA - How is your DH feeling? Didn't you say he's going to the doctor this week? glad your rain is letting up!
MARY ROSE - enchiladas sounds good to me!!
I think tonite will be a repeat of supper past - pasta with meatballs and salad. We have a pot of sauce in the fridge to warm up.
Yum!

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Sunday, May 20th
Good afternoon from a very pleasant, warm, sunny, SW. Pa....We had such a crazy day yesterday, sun, storm, thunder, more rain and then sun and rainbows.....Just a crazy weather mixed up day.....
Mary, when is that next camping trip scheduled...I need to plan, you know....Our neighbor started mowing our yards yesterday and after about 10 minutes, the rains came again and that put an end to that....This same gal planted wild flowers and perennials in her front yard last year and they are all now blooming and it looks wonderful...It was something I had wanted to do when we lived in that house but of course never had the time or took the time...I now am able to sit on my front porch and enjoy the fruits of her labor...She's not much for inside stuff but give her a plant or a shovel and she's in heaven....She and her DH have been so good to me, really special.....
Becca, I'm thinking of maybe another lazy day in this house but then it seems, I've been having a few of those such days lately, lol...I am still trying to get my yard the way I want it but that might take until next year....One major thing I've noticed, it doesn't take much to get the back acting up, darn these golden years......Hope your Dh gets some good news on Tuesday....Let's make that, hope you both get some good news on Tuesday.....
So far, it's really been quiet in the house, phone hasn't even been ringing...I am thinking, maybe later this after I'm going to treat myself to a fun outing...A long time, Cahal Dunne (Irish performer and singer) is going to be at our little local theater and it might be fun to just sit and listen..Jim loved his music so for sure, he'll be with me.....And who knows, the car might even find a place to have dinner.....
You all have a great day.......
Happy eating............
Eagle Update: My baby eagles aren't babies any more, probably the size of a large chicken...And when they flap those wings, takes up almost the whole nest....Just the other night, a raccoon climbed the tree and actually crawled over the sleeping baby...WELL, Mom didn't like that and I have a feeling the raccoon has some well placed booboos and probably won't be back...It probably was smelling a fish that had been left in the nest not really after the eagle....The next night, both Mom and Dad sat on a branch closest to the nest just to protect the baby......

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Sunday, May 20th
Mary, I have heard about the scrim on batting, but have never actually checked to see if I was right side up.
I went over to Mom and Dad's, and chatted, and did another lotto block, this morning. This afternoon, I am watching Timeless with the honey dear.
Supper will be chicken soup and dumplings.
Pam

Good afternoon!
2 huge thunderstorm cells are over and next to me - they are competing for who can make the most noise and rain! Shortly, they will both be east of me and that makes me out of any danger. The rain is good for my tree.
Dinner tonight is at Matt's house, but we are unsure if we are going. We both have terrific head colds, even though they are on the way out. Would not like to share with the family as some are heading off to Yellowstone to camp for a week. And then there is Lila!
I have the sunflower quilt all pieces sewn and the main body of the quilt blocks are on the design wall - just letting them cook there until another pair of eyes can double check that I have the placement right. I am pretty sure that I do - but it is a optical illusion, so I want to make sure before I sew, so I need not unsew! The border pieces are a illusion too. I sewed each section as the directions indicated and for the life of me - one set of the border blocks that I assembled, I could not find in the placement directions. Took me about 10 minutes - going section by section, until I spotted those 4 corner blocks. They did not look like a corner, but they are. This pattern is fairly easy, but you could go wrong very quickly! LOL
Mary - glad that you are home and getting caught up. Been worried about Riley kitty.
Becca - hope and pray that the Dr., finds something to help CA.
Pam - your class this weekend sounded very much like a class that I took here in North Salt Lake for my LA. All the different threads, weights and quilting. One of our trips this summer, DH doesn't know yet, will be south to St. George to the Superior Thread Company. It is about 5 hours south of me and I could make a large dent in the credit card for thread! Normally no one goes to St George in the summer - hotter than the hinges of he**, but I don't want to drive that far in the snow - so we will go in early summer, I hope.
Irish - so nice to to enjoy your neighbors love of flowers! I am losing mine. They are moving to Arizona as his company he flies for has a hub there and not here in SLC. That way, he is home with his family for more that a day here or there. They have adopted us as well as we they, as extra children and grandchildren. They have 4 adorable girls.
Lyn - buttering up doesn't count!! We behaved, well, sort of! LOL!
Enjoy,
Jana
