April 27 devotion

1 Kings 17:1-24
Learning to Pray Boldly

When Elijah prayed, things happened. Clouds dried up or gushed rain, Ravens served as food waiters, oil and flour multiplied, fire fell from heaven, and a dead boy came back to life. Some of these miracles were examples of divine power. All of them remind us that nothing is impossible when God decides to act.

Prayer is the key that gets things going. Prayer is the way we plug in the power of God. We are instructed to "pray continually". And God has promised to hear and answer. Elijah saw some unique answers to prayer, but his ability to pray was not unique. When you pray, big things can happen too. That's because God hears and will answer according to His will.

Thanks Izzy.
Prayer is so powerful.God instructed us to pray in his word.In my lifetime I’ve seen the power of prayer & am amazed how God works. We need only be faithful and be fervent in our prayers. And we can pray anywhere anytime. Becca

Prayer is a wonderful tool - pair it with faith and nothing can stop us!

Yesterday, the tulip festival gardens have a feature that is outstanding. It is life size sculptures depicting events of the Savior's life and ministry here on the earth. They are bronze, done by a woman here in Utah. One of my favorites was of the woman reaching out to touch the hem of Christ's garment, with faith to be healed. Wish that y'all could have seen them. Maybe simeday!
