SUPPER CLUB - Sunday, April 22nd
Good morning!!
We've got singing birds here! They are as happy as we are about the weather forecast for the coming week - 70's, nudging towards 80* - all week long! Yay!!
Well, Vicki has escalated her shenanigans. She attacked Bill's tractor with a walking stick and finish mower he tows behind it. She beat on it and then stuck it into the running blades. That could have ended so disastrously, but it didn't. He stopped mowing and went to another part of the property. She lined up all her refrigerator drawers and shelves to make a line in the grass (all on our side, of course) and then sat in a chair with her stick the rest of the afternoon - guarding and glariing. Again on our property. Our DBIL who just spent the month here is a former sheriff's deputy (and she attacked him, too, verbally and finger-ly) while he was here!). With yesterday's events, he advised it was time to file a sheriff's report. So we did. Also let the kids know that she is getting more violent. Bill installed another motion sensor light on that side of the house. We will finish the mowing today while the kids have her out to brunch. I was so frosted yesterday! I try to be patient and understanding. I know it's her disease that is making her do such crazy things. But after two years of this and of her kids doing NOTHING, my tolerance level has been reached.
BECKY - what is the play that Brytt is in? Is she your DGD or DD? I have trouble keeping track of everybody and all their offspring and pets. (though trying is good brain exercise!) My DD, Autumn, loved drama as a kid. She was president of the drama club all through high school. Loved it! I'm glad to hear you were a good girl while I was gone. I'm not so sure everyone was . . . .
BECCA - How is your DH? Did I read trigger finger? Our friend, Gus, had that, had surgery, and a year later, his finger was back in trigger-pulling position. Wasted surgery. Yes, Vicki can tell when we're gone. We each have 2-1/2 acres (a former 5-acre piece that was divided in half many decades ago). Our houses are situated only about 75 feet apart with only grass in between. She can look out her picture window and see our RV parked in it's shelter. So if we're gone, she knows. In fact, she's usually out there watching and yelling at us when we leave to make sure we don't touch any of her grass with our tires as we maneuver the trailer out of it's parking spot.
PAM - love your menu of peaches and champagne! Makes up for any 'slipping' you might have done while I was gone. ;o. You know, when you open a bottle of champagne, you can't let it just sit there. It won't keep. Ya gotta keep drinking! Vicki is my neighbor of 32 years. always a very good friend and we shared many good times with her. But she has Huntington's. It's affected her brain as well as the neuro system. Mental hallmarks of the disease are paranoia, memory loss, irrational rage, and more. For some reason, she now thinks our property is hers and that we are trying to "usurp" it away from her so she builds barricades from anything she can find and drag to where she thinks the property line is. She also yells at us, curses, and glares. She does small vandalism and occasionally steals small things, like yard art, flowers, etc. This time she took a gutter downspout and moved some rocks around. She has dismantled the interior of her own house, thinking it toxic. She took apart all her cabinets and burned them, dragged her stove to the driveway, pulled up carpeting, dismantled her furnace, and more. This has been on-going for 2 years. Police have been to her house twice, and we've filed reports twice with Adult Protective Services. She refuses medical treatment or any medication. In Washington, you can't force a person to see a doctor. APS comes out and says she has food (though she doesn't eat it) and a microwave to cook in and a space heater in every room (on full blast 24/7). so they say she's OK. She throws her garbage into the yard which our dog loves to eat and he almost died from pancreatitis in February from eating things she throws out. Now Scottie is restricted and is always tied when he is outside unless we are right with him. Becca told you it was a whole 'nother story! And this is only part of it.
But, meanwhile, back to supper - I'm thinking pork chops and dressing, cranberries and peas. We may go to Costco today, so it all may change.
Have you got a plan yet?

Mary, that is hard on everybody. Vicky's kids probably don't know what to do, either.
Becca, steak and baked potato and mac and cheese salad all sound good. We went up to a quilt show, today. I was a nice drive in the sun, and the temp got to 60. We had late lunch at Ted's. We got flame broiled hot dogs and handburgers. Awesome. If we eat dinner, it will be a salad, later.
Becky, what's for dinner in your neck of the woods? Have a great day.

Good evening ladies,
I am late, but never fear, we ate! Our niece stopped down, so we threw some chicken breasts on the grill and had baked potatoes and salad. And lots of visiting....so that was our evening.
Gosh Mary, what does Vicki actually have to do for anyone to do something? Gosh, does sound like it is esculating. Please take care, you never know.
Brytt is my granddaughter. She was our premmie that weighed 1# 4 Oz. when she was born. The play was Love, Loss and What I wore. It was really cute, and funny too. Really enjoyed it. She was a stage hand last year, and said if she had known how much fun it was, she would have been in drama club for all of her high school years. She has been very active in band and color guard throughout high school, and Constitution Club. She was also captain of the color guard team this year, so she has been a busy little gal. She puts in quite a long day every day, between early practices/ late practices and weekend projects.

I must have hit enter before I was quite ready!
Anyway, hope your DH gets some relief from his pain Becca. I am not sure I would like mac and cheese on my salad...LOL....
your dinner sounded quite good last night Pam. I will have to suggest that here....They would probably turn up their noses at the peaches though. Ha...
Chickie, hope all is still well your way.....
