SUPPER CLUB - Thursday 19 April

Post by FarmChick » Thu Apr 19, 2018 5:01 am

Good morning! I still haven’t seen any humming birds here, but it’s just as well. We still keep having cold nights and cool days—after the two 80-degree days, temperatures dropped significantly. BUT… this morning I saw my first Baltimore Oriole! It was after the hummer feeder. I put out a hummer feeder with bigger holes (they don’t seem to like the oriole feeders for some reason), and I added a tin of grape jelly which they love. Bring on the orioles! I’m ready!

I’ve done my hour of yoga practice and am ready to face the day. It should be quiet—Ava walking and maybe working on the quilt for DD. It never does to plan a quiet day—things change!

Last evening we went up to the corner for DS3’s birthday. We didn’t stay too long, and I brought my dinner home. I have plenty of re-runs for two nights! DH gets his “regular stuff”.

DH is doing great, although he’s having a bout of gout now. It’s always something! My DD will be going to her doctor, probably today to see what’s next in trying to find a diagnosis.

Tina—I hope you had a restful evening after your previous night! I’d be dead if I couldn’t sleep and got up and did all that: “Murder in Southeast Kansas”! It’s not good to disturb DH when he is sleeping!

Pam—your Chinese dinner sounds lovely! My house is terribly dusty—we live back from the road now, but with the blowing winds, lack of rain, and three dogs… It’s dusty even with rain, because the dogs track in mud that soon becomes dust.

Becky—my days get away from me, and I’m (supposed to be) retired! Tacos would be a staple for me, too—bless Ian!

Becca—Oh, shopping for DH with him!!! It’s easier for me to buy and return or order online. Keeps me saner, too!

Mary is out and about with fabulous scenery! Yesterday she was going to a quilt shop. Sounds like a great vacation!

I have a few things to do here, then I’m off to my sewing room… I’ll be having chicken from last night cut up on a salad. Bon appétit!

Hi all......
Boy, is no one eating tonight? Ha....We will be grabbing something quick, Brytt has a play tonight. Will be sad to see the last one for her. The other two aren't interested in it at all.....next week will be her last band concert, and so it goes, on and on! It does seem as if her academic life has flown by, for sure....
Hope all is well your way.....Doyal sounds as if he is doing well, Miriam....hope your DD gets good news. Prayers for you still....
I am afraid that after retirement, I will get even less done...Oh my....Have a great day .....Becky

Hi all :)
I did sleep pretty good last night and got up early this morning so I could get my front yard trees and bushes watered, we're windy again but not as bad....they say we have a chance of rain tomorrow....I'm sure hoping.
Dad told me that he actually slept Tuesday night, he fell asleep in his recliner in the evening and was upset because he didn't think he'd sleep in the night but he went to bed at 11 and slept till 5:30 so he was happy and said he felt better.
I'm making cube steak and salad tonight.

Chickie, I love yoga. I don't really do well on my own, but used to go to classes. It was in the woods. They would have the windows open and you could hear the peepers and crickets and whatnot. So relaxing.

Becky, maybe Brytt will get into local little theater groups. You never know. The first time I went to college, I left the math major teaching degree for performing arts. My family came to every play. They were too excited about my choices, but they supported me, lol.

Becca, please post pictures of the dolls so we can ooh and ah.

Tina, you can have some of our rain. It has been kind of wet around here, and the sump pump was draining wrong all ovver the septic tank, and the septic tank doesn't like to swim, and now that we figured out what was wrong, maybe our toilet will flush. Flush toilets are an important part of society. If you don't have a flush toilet, you need to dig a big hole.

Mary, we miss you. Irish, we miss you, too. It seems like there were one or two other people who haven't been around, but I don't know the group as well as the rest of you.

I had steak tacos for dinner. Dan is working late, so I could get away with stopping at the place with too much meat.
