When God Gives Specific Instruction

2 Samual 5: 117-25

God isn't always this direct, but He does occasionally give us very specific instructions in answer to our prayers. If we ask for guidance and depend on Him, He promises to lead us in the direction that we should go. Prov 3:5-6. That is what He did for David in this passage, directing him when and how to attack and assuring him of the outcome. So often we don't think to ask God for this kind of specific direction because we don't expect that He will answer us. But He wants to guide our lives--even in the small details--and the more we get n the habit of asking, the more we will learn how to listen for His voice and discern what He is telling us to do.

Don't be afraid to pray for guidance in specific areas of your life, and don't get discouraged if you don't hear answers right away. It may take some time to learn how to hear God's voice leading you.

Hugs and prayers

Great devotion. One of my favorite verses.

I ask for guidance each time I have an issue. And I am getting better at not giving God advice. It's cool to watch Him work.

Proverbs 17:1☺️
