SUPPER CLUB - Thursday, April 5th

Post by purrfect-lady » Thu Apr 05, 2018 3:39 am

Our week of rainy weather isn't quite as stormy as was predicted (yet). Damp, drizzle, with showers. But the forecast is young. Good sewing weather!

I got a bit more than a third of the bottom half of my bargello done yesterday. Hope to get another bunch sewn today but we're off to Costco and Freddie's so that will eat up a pile of hours. We'll do a few more errands while we're out. I can't wait to finish this quilt. My sewing room is closing in on me with the accumulated clutter. I need to do some serious cleaning, rearranging, and maybe some purging. It's a small room and so much stuff is starting to stifle me.

MARY Q & SUE - you know where I live! Lots of pizza left over!

JANA - I think Sarah needs to either be there sewing those blocks she designed or print a book with her patterns! Did Matt and family make it to Daniel's safely?

BECCA - Today Mark & Denise will be there! Happy day! And your son is bringing a new friend to meet you? May I ask - a lady friend?? I do love good news!

IRISH - have you decided on baby quilt patterns yet? I made one once for a friend - each block was Sunbonnet Sue and all done in different pinks. Turned out so cute! Well?? Did you make it to the store? Cats do have a way of controlling our lives don't they, even though they often act aloof and don't even acknowledge us sometimes! lol! I swear, I think my Riley believes she has a permanent tiara on her head and a velvet cushion under her royal hiney!

PAM - welcome to the table! I do remember you from years ago. Most of my shirt-tail relatives live in south central and western NY. My Grandpa was near the middle of 12 kids and they all remained in the area but him. Maybe we're related! By now I must be related to most of NY and PA!

Our pizza last night was really good. I loaded it up with everything I could think of: turkey pepperoni, bacon, onions, peppers, olives, tomatoes, and 3 kinds of cheese. It was so filling that we have plenty left over for tonite! (unless Mary and Sue show up!) Yay! No cooking!

What about at your house? Will there be cooking?

Good morning!

Mary - yes they made it safely to Daniel's. Today they are heading to SF. For bread and fortune cookies. That is tradtions from both families. Then drive across all the bridges over the bay. My dad, a ironworker built, ok, worked on all of them - there were 6 at one time. Logan loves bridges, so I gave him a family history lesson before they left.

Dinner - tonight is our class, so it will ge out after class is over. There are only a few classes left, then break for summer. Class starts again in September. Our teacher is a retired college professfor that taught this subject for many years.

Enjoy!

Good morning! I started here yesterday… DH returned early from coffee, and the day took on a life of its own. We had a town run for banking, miscellaneous errands, and the important stuff—dog food and bird seed. I did my yoga practice and the Hooligans and I walked and took care of Ava. We checked cows—no new babies for several days. We have 13 little ones—soooo cute!

Sorry I didn’t make it to Mary’s for pizza. I was really craving pizza! I’m trying not to eat “good stuff” in front of DH—just the soups and salads I know he doesn’t like. I wish I could say I’m losing weight, but I’m not. Sigh! He’s lost 15 pounds. Next week is surgery. It will still be more liquids for a couple of weeks after that. I made a bunch of different sugar-free jellos this morning.

Irish—my sister orders from Chewey and swears by them. Maybe I should look into it. Of course, at the feed store I get to look at all the baby chicks! I’d love more chicks, but I’m not sure they would fare well with the Hooligans. I’m content with the calves.

Jana—looking forward to seeing that quilt!

Pam—I’m really glad we didn’t get the late snow! I’ve had daffodils and tulips buried under snow several times. They are very sturdy flowers. We had 26 degrees and 35 mph wind gusts yesterday morning with pear, cherry and peach trees in full bloom and apple trees in buds.

Becca—you will be having company for lunch! FUN!!! And, a new lady friend!!!

Becky—I think we are warming today!

Mary—have a fun outing!!! I feel the same way about my sewing room! I’m working on DD’s hexi quilt.

Speaking of DD, her CT scans are tomorrow. She changed appointments to one in the KC area where the insurance paid all of it. Here she would be stuck with a $1,117 pre-pay that insurance didn’t cover. Her colonoscopy came back pre-cancerous with the polyps they removed. We have the colon cancer legacy—my grandma died from it and Mom is a survivor. It’s like a Sword of Damocles over our heads… Yes, I get tested!!!

This is shorter than I thought it would be… DH just walked in, but I’ll post it short…

Same old stuff on the table here… soup, salad, broth, jello…

Bon appétit!

Purrfectlady, we probably are related. Several strands of my lines come from WNY.

Becca, I love homemade sauce. There are a lot of Italians in the area who are so proud of their own sauce. I usually use jarred.

Jana, I don't know what class you are taking, but I love all kinds of classes!

Farmchick, daffodils are my favorite flower. I saw the brush along the road is starting to look red at the edges, as it is getting ready to bud.

Irish I love Chewy. I once had glucosamine chews on autoship. I wasn't using it as quickly as I had figured. I had a package I opened about four months after it shipped that had canned dog food instead. They said to donate it, and shipped me the chews right away. Good costomer service.

We are having authentic perogies, tonight. I got them from Broadway Market in a Polish area of Buffalo. DH and I went on Good Friday, and it was a madhouse. Everybody was picking up butter lambs and sausages and perogies and whatnot. It was fun.

Lila update - Kate just came from her OB appointment and things have progressed and the OB doubts highly that we will make it through this weekend without a baby arriving. Yeah!
