SUPPER CLUB - Tuesday, April 3rd
Good morning,
We have 40* and very dark this morning, though it doesn't feel as chilly as it is. The calm before the storm, I guess. 'Cuz a storm is coming. I tripped in that dark while coming back inside with Scottie and did a Chickie - took a header on the cement walk near our trailer and then rolled. I haven't fallen like that since I was a kid. I have scraped hands and knees, and I'm thinking my back isn't going to feel too good by later today. There's a chiropractic appointment wasted! Wish I was going today instead of yesterday.
I never got the trailer cleaned yesterday. Bill was washing it and I didn't want a shower while trying to enter so I just did up all the laundry and worked in my sewing room. So today my agenda is more sewing room and cleaning trailer. I should be able to reach the halfway point in my big orange bargello today. In a bargello this big (100"x96"), you do the top half first, then the bottom, then you sew them together and hope ALL those 25 seams match up! I've only done one about 1/4 the size of this one before so I'm crossing my fingers! I have to have this quilt finished by June graduation.
IZZY - so nice of you to drop in at the table! Happy to have you! There is always another chair here! I know you love your floor play time, but I hope you got some other things done yesterday.
BECCA - did you get outside yesterday? your weather sounds purrfect for it! I got a lot of yard work done a few weeks back. In fact, we even got my sis and DBIL involved! Got a lot done that day!
IRISH - I hope that's the last of the snow for you, though on the national news last night, I did hear about yet another storm they are watching. Shopping for pink fabric! What fun! Does Cari already have a 'theme' in mind or are you just going with pink? When Lara (now 46) was a toddler I did her room all in pink gingham. It was so cute. But if they'd had the fabrics then that they have now, it might have been Strawberry Shortcake, My Little Pony, or unicorns. You know, Elizabeth Hartman has a darling unicorn pattern and QIAD had then on sale yesterday . . . I bet your little only child eaglet isn't mourning the loss of its sibling, given what you've told us about feeding times!
CHICKIE - Icicles?? Really?? I think you are carrying this winter thing a little too far! I sure hope you warm up soon. An hour of yoga two days in a row - my Autumn would be proud of you. She loves yoga and is certified to teach it, though she still is just taking more classes for now. Any more new cowlets?
LINDA - exciting times in your yard! New man cave, new baby birds, new plants, no cat poop. Happy spring to you!
BECKY - we found a 2 yr-old egg once in our yard. Sadly, there was no money, just a 2-yr old Easter egg. I love it when supper is called a 'crap shoot'! Adds a whole 'nother layer of interest! lol!
TINA - you are probably still cleaning up after the big Easter gathering you hosted!!
For our 'crap shoot' tonite, I'm thinking: can you hear the gears turning? Kinda rusty . . but since we have some baked beans and potato salad left from last night, and it's still not raining, pork chops on the grill will be the star of supper tonite. I'm already hungry!
What's making your mouth water? And now what's actually for supper?

Mother Nature is still on a menopausal tear here, and at Becky’s too I’m sure! After the bluster of yesterday, we woke up to 63 degrees this morning! Well… the temps are falling, the wind has changed around, and that crazy woman is throwing 26 degrees at us for wake up tomorrow!!! Where did we go wrong??? I wish Mother Nature would get her hormones in control and bring on Spring!
Mary—sorry about your fall! Irish and I are teaching you bad tricks, or maybe you are just catching up for us. I’m really hoping my yoga will strengthen my legs and arms and help with balance. I’m looking forward to seeing your bargello!
Since I knew I wouldn’t be walking in the wind today, I did another hour of yoga. That’s 3 days in a row! I wish I wasn’t so old and creaky but young and flexible like the ones on TV. Oh well, at least I try… no one wants to watch it, for sure!!!
No new cow babies as of yesterday evening when we rode around and checked.
Irish—I’d love to be shopping for fabrics with you! I seem to have only grand dogs or great grand dogs—no great grand babies on the near horizon.
Linda, Becca and Tina—Send lovely weather!!! Please!!! This is getting ridiculous! I looked at last year’s pictures on my camera, and I had found a mess of morels. The ground isn’t warm enough yet this year for them to pop up. I want to dehydrate some this year… if we find any.
Dinner tonight… same old easy peasy—cartons of bone broth and bowls of jello for DH, and bags of salad for me. I found a mix with kale and spinach, and it’s really good. I can switch up the toppings and dressings for variety.
Bon appétit!

Hello everyone,sunny here again & 60s.
Chickie I wish I could join your yoga class.I used to do that when I went to Gym.I have tapes but stick to bike & walking.Yoga keeps you flexible & is great to do.Enjoy.
Is DH having to lose weight before his surgery? He certainly should be with bone broth and jello.Have to admire his sticking to it.
Maryz There is always yard work here if you want to do it.Too much to maintain.I did get all the laurel sprouts & holly trees cut.I mean small holly. They sprout up every where.
I will go out just to get outside but I’m going to walk too.
Wow better watch those falls. Were you out in the dark? They can be serious.
Becky No I didn’t hunt eggs but enjoyed his humor.I hunted with Laurel the wk before.
Linda Glad all’s well in your life now.Classes too for fun.
Tina You’re always a busy lady.Miss you.Glad DH is retired.
Irish I can see you crocheting blankets & making baby quilts. What fun.Sure hope you have sun & warmth today & DBIL is improving.
We went to DGeneral after I finished the laundry.
We have meatloaf left. Will add a veggie .Have jello salad made. Becca

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Tuesday, April 3rd
Good early afternoon from a very dreary, very wet, SW. Pa...I have a feeling Jim is sleeping in or very busy and hasn't had time to turn off the rain and turn on the sun yet.....I also have a feeling, he's up there with all those friends that have gone before him and they are having one big reunion...And since most of the friends were all Notre Dame fans, you can imagine what the topic of conversation is.....When the missing gets bad, I try to think of him laughing with his friends...Still can't believe he's gone....
OH Mary, hate to hear about your fall..Gee whiz girlfriend, you don't have to do everything Chickie and I do! But, maybe this calls for a day of "doing nothing" or something easy...I've decided, if I stub my toe, I need to sit with it elevated for at least a day, maybe 2 (or longer depending on how good the book is)....You gotta take care of yourself.....
I don't think Cari has a theme picked out yet but I did ask her what color she wanted that 1st afghan, mint green or pink and she picked pink...Did I tell you I found the cutest little green shirt with a kitten on it? It's really going to be hard not walking through the baby departments and not finding something but I really think my job is to buy, right????Isn't that in the Grandma's creed? This will be Kathy's 1st grand baby...DH, Tim has a bunch already and I think they call her Gram but now her own!
Chickie, I'm with you, with the "bring on Spring"...It's going to take weeks for our ground to dry out enough just to get outside and be able to play in the dirt....But, I guess this is good for the farmers.....I think about your DH, give him a lot of credit and good for you, helping him along the way....
Becca, Hope you were able to get your walk in...I was thinking, around here, I'd need hip boots, lol....But one of these days.....I am excited to get busy on my "pink" projects...We have a new DG and I just love the store...Also have a Family Dollar almost next door and that too is a favorite....Jim always said, FD was his store (lots of candy).....
Well, today being a stay inside day, I'm going to do some sewing...In cleaning closets, I've found things that need hemmed or just mended so today's the day....Also will be taking care of Dan's fur babies and making sure the house is ready for their homecoming...They get in late tonight so I want to make sure they'll have stuff for breakfast....Dan did send me pictures of cats that he's seen along the way and I asked if he was bringing back a couple....He's also sent pictures of ugly critters, spiders etc. and I sure hope he leaves them there.....
I visited with my neighbor Donna yesterday and came home with a nice container of spaghetti and a piece of strawberry pie, so that's going to be my dinner tonight (if it lasts till then)....
You all have a great day.........
Happy eating...............

Hi everyone
Mary, oh my goodness! I hope you're alright! Be careful. On a lighter note I had a visual of Bill spraying you with the hose as you tried to get in your trailer LOL.
I wish I could share my warmth with you all, low 80's is pretty warm! I'd take any moisture any of you could send this way
We're going for Pizza tonight, it's the first night of their season for doing it...it goes April to October, warm enough weather....they bake it outside in an oven from Italy.
Maria cleaned up almost all of Easter for me, I just had to wipe the bathrooms down when everyone went home and wash maybe 6 dishes she was afraid she'd break....she's such a sweet person
Tina

Hi ladies,
Gosh Mary, I guess you need to be a lot more careful. Did you have a flashlight? Maybe Bill booby trapped the sidewalk? Glad you got by with only scrapes and bruises though. My MIL lives in fear of falling. I think she needs to live in a padded room, but what do I know.
Yes, Miriam, it is so cold and windy here. They are saying possible snow showers again this evening. Good thing it isn't sticking. Did Doyle have his surgery yet, or still prepping? Any news on you DD's tests?
That is a sweet DIL you have Tina. Better tell your son to keep her!
That is still funny Becca. you should have hid a few, he would probably laughed too.
I had a couple small quilts made up so I would be ahead, but they needed them faster than I could make them Irish. Oh well, it seems more personal to make them as you need them.
I am home today, waiting on the cable company. I am not even sure why I need them, but my Grandson says I do, and he made the appointment. He is trying to hook up a tv in my living room. Hope he explained it well enough, or they will have to call him....I found more than my share to do today, now I have supper ready to stick in the oven, and I am going to iron some nine patches and square them up.
Oh, we are having meat loaf, baked potatoes, spinach and green beans. Something for everyone, I guess.
You all have a great night. Becky

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Tuesday, April 3rd
Good afternoon!
Working on little Lila's quilt - Sarah does this to me all the time - makes the pattern difficult - but they always come out cute - so I am doing her pattern, but making the blocks oversized and will cut them down to what I need - will be much faster this way! Cutting on even numbers and divisiable.
Mary - ouch! Be careful! I could just see Bill laying in-wait to get you wet! Michael has done that to me - numerous times! Once I was even in the house - in the shower and mistakenly left the window open and lo and behold, he used the hose to get me wet - with cold water! Oh I do get even! LOL!
Irish - pink is a good color! Sewing for little girls is so fun. I have gotten tired of blues around here and have been having fun with my little girls.
Tina - you have a jewel in that DDIl! Mine do help here and it is sure appreciated.
Chickie - at least you can still stretch - me - I would be a very wobbley elephant upside down stuck like a turtle on it's back! LOL Oh my kids would pay money for that sight! LOL
Becca - we have several dollar stores here - but no Dollar Generals - will watch for one - we get new stuff all the time.
Becky - your house sounds like mine, before all the kids got married! Running them everywhere!
Dinner - I have no idea - but we will not starve! Michael is not feeling well - his meds for diabetes are giving him fits - he barely tolerates the Metformin and every so oftern we have to change that one. Seems like it could be that time again.
Enjoy!
Jana
