Supper club, Monday, April 2
Good morning
I hope everyone had a blessed Easter. We made it home safe and sound by 2:30 PM. We had the trailer unloaded and were relaxing in front of the fire by 4 PM. Today will be laundry and cleaning the trailer. A good thing we didn’t try the mountain passes. Pictures on the WebCam show snowy mess on the roads.
Irish, congratulations on the new baby. Just what your family needs! I am so sorry to hear about your DBIL though. Sending hugs and prayers to your sister. I almost feel like I know her. The news last night said big snows headed your way so I hope you have Jim on the job.
Jana, I hope the weather is good for Matt when he hits the road!
Becky, you had that same snowstorm hitting you too, didn’t you? I can’t believe the weather this year. Hope your grandson made it through OK.
Becca, you had 73°! I think we are all jealous!
Tina, glad you had a good day. Anytime all the family gets together seems there is always a bit of tension that comes in the door with one or two people.
I think we will grill burgers tonight. Before the buns get stale and the weather is turns rainy, both of which should happen by Wednesday. So tonight‘s the night!
What’s your plan?

Good morning Mary. YOu girls here sure are busy:) Planning on leftovers tonight myself. I am off on spring break and its cold and rainy here. So this morning I will run to mom and dads then back home to get my uglies done and Mt. Washmore. Maybe even get into my sewing room to clean it up a bit and figure out the next UFO to work on:).
No lil man this morning so I might get some stuff done LOL besides playing on the floor with that bundle of cuteness:)
Have a blessed days ladies. I hope your snow melts off soon:) Crazy easter snow. At least finding colored eggs was easy for the kids LOL
Hugs and prayers
Izzy

I want to get outside & do some more sprucing up.Theres nothing like being outside to me.Im making a meatloaf, green beans & baked potato. Becca

Good morning from a partly sunny but still mostly snow covered, SW. Pa...For sure, Mother Nature is having problems, lol...But, I'm sure Jim will take care of it and already, is melting that white stuff...
Mary, so glad to hear you're back home, safe and sound..I kept thinking of you last night, sitting in front of that fire, hopefully with a glass of wine..I could have used both here in the tundra, last night..(For sure my next house is going to have a fireplace, lol)....I just talked to my sister and her DH will probably be moved into a nursing home tomorrow...She said, she can see a little improvement, can't understand most of what he says and it seems, he's lost memory of the last 10 or so years....The body is certainly a strange thing to try to figure out, isn't it?
Oh and I told Kathy you wanted to know what she taught when she went to Vegas and she said it was "top secret", lol...I said, we figure she's too old to be a showgirl so it must be something with gambling, right? But, she does teach Postal proceedures to new hires and also teaches "old hires" how to teach new hires, codes and all that kind of stuff....
Becca, boy you're not kidding about this being a crazy winter and spring....Although we have had snow on Easter before but this up and down is making me dizzy, lol....And you are so right about our country having so many beautiful places....Hope you get a chance to get outside, soon.....Your dinner sounds delish!
Izzy, so glad to see you at the table...I think of you so often and wonder about your Dad..Thank goodness your Mom and Dad have you to help out...Hope your day is a good one!
Not much happening in this neck of the woods...Other than going to take care of DGS, Dan's, fur babies, I'm staying home...One good thing, the house is nice and orderly (cats didn't have a party last night), so maybe I can play in the sewing room....So many ideas keep popping into the old noggin so it's time to start making it happen...Of course, I will need to do some shopping for some special baby fabric and pink yarn but that will be when the snow disappears...
Did I mention, I found a home for all my magazines? Put a little notice on our local FB page and a fellow answered and said, his wife would love to have them...Turns out, she belongs to a quilting group and also does sewing with a group from church...Had the best time chatting with her and I'm sure will be in touch again....
My dinner, tonight will be left over scalloped potates, green beans and of course ham....Also have lemon cream cake for afters...Sounds like I'm going to be eating pretty good (at least for another day of so, lol)......
You all have a great day....
Happy eating............
Eagle Update:
It's official, the 2nd egg in the nest close to me won't be hatching so "chubby fuzz ball" will be an only child...But, in the other nest, the 1st egg has hatched and the 2nd due in a couple of days....

Re: Supper club, Monday, April 2
Good morning! We had a lovely Easter EXCEPT for the weather! What an ugly April Fool joke by Mother Nature! We have ice on cars, windows, roof—still icicles off the roof!
Mary—glad you are home safely! This weather is really abnormal—glad you didn’t do the passes without a snow plow on the front of your truck!
Irish—Congratulations! A new baby is so exciting! Best wishes to your sister and DBIL!
Becky—did you get snow? I saw where it went through your area. We had some flakes, but mainly freezing rain. We will be warmer late tonight, and then dropping to bitter cold tomorrow night.
Becca and Tina—you are the lucky ones!
Izzy—I saw the Easter egg hunt in the snow. I don’t think the kids minded it a bit!
Becca—wish I were outside with you today! You are right, there is a lot of beautiful scenery in our huge country! You live in some of the prettiest, too! I even like Kansas… most of the time!
I’m on Choc duty for 48 hours, so will have several trips to take care of her. She’s such a sweet dog—a big chocolate Lab. We will also see Ava. She was at Easter dinner yesterday and jumped up on “gramma’s” lap several times in the afternoon. The washer and dryer are doing their thing as long as I keep them fed today. I’m hoping to be in my sewing room, but I really need to do some house cleaning. Since I probably won’t be walking much, I did an hour of yoga practice this morning to go with the hour I did yesterday. I hope it’s working… I can feel it yet.
Dinner tonight… our usual… soup and salad for me… bone broth and jello for DH. He did super yesterday at not partaking of dinner—what a champ!
Bon appétit!

Re: Supper club, Monday, April 2
Morning everyone:
Hope you all had a Blessed Easter. We have been getting up into the high 80's late afternoons, so the weather was perfect for Easter. Didn't have to wear a sweater or coat to church. DH took me into town for breakfast after church and it was a nice change. I felt more a part of the community eating at the local cafe in town. Normally we just stay home. Then we took a walk around the 1 street "downtown". Sad to say many store fronts are empty or filling up with Thrift or 99 cent shops. Lots of the cute, unique places are gone. Thank heavens the quilt center is thriving.
The mockingbird babies hatched yesterday, appropriate for Easter day, and we shall see how they fare with all the construction that begins right next to them tomorrow. In the front yard a pair of doves are looking at our Japanese maple and a blue jay is flying in and out of the podocarpus. DH throws seed out into the street every afternoon so birds naturally gravitate to our house. My blue iris are blooming and look so pretty. My African violets are in bloom again and the third orchid blossom (out of 8) just opened up. DH threw a bunch of seeds that he doesn't know what they are out in the backyard. Lots of green stuff is coming up but I have no idea what the flowers will be. It will be a nice surprise. Only problem is, I can't really tell what is a weed now, so I have to let everything grow!
No termites, no ants and no cat poop for a week now. Back to our quiet life. DH called in for jury duty last night and he is just on call for today. He is thrilled. Has to call in tonight for tomorrow.
Glad you are all safe and sound at home, wishing for Spring. Stay safe and warm, it will soon be here. Prayers for all those in need.

Re: Supper club, Monday, April 2
Good afternoon ladies,
Well, sounds like you all are still busy! Don't you take breaks? This is what worries me about retiring, I don't think I can stand going full speed like you all.
Yes Mary, we must have got some of that storm, it wasn't as bad as they predicted, I think Chickie must have saved the good stuff for herself....we got maybe an inch or so of nasty sleet, and boy, were the gravel roads ever slick this morning. We only have a slight incline from our road, onto the county road, but I had to make three stabs at getting onto the road. We have a gravel drive and about a half mile of gravel, I just kept thinking, just make it to the pavement, but then, couldn't hardly make it.
So, Becca, did you hide the eggs, or were you the one looking for them? Ha...that is too funny....JR calls it his egg hunt in the spring, when he does the first mowing. He usually finds a few then.....one year, he found one with money in it! $5.oo and boy, was he a happy camper....
Well, tonight, I am not sure....it is really a crap shoot on who will be home, whether they are hungry or not, or if they don't like what I fix.....so, I am going to say leftovers or fend for yourselves....I think that is my plan!
You all have a great night....Becky
