SUPPER CLUB - Thursday, Jan 18th

Post by purrfect-lady » Thu Jan 18, 2018 4:34 am

Good morning!

We got half our room painted yesterday, as planned. Today will be cleaning all the woodwork, putting back furniture, and rehanging the freshly washed valances. I also want to wash all the rest of the curtains and valances in the house. I'm not sure how I want to do pictures and things, but for sure, some things need re-framing. We're going to take the weekend off before starting the other side of the room.

Tomorrow is Albert to Seattle. It will be another all-day ordeal for him. We'll have to get friends on Scottie detail. Fortunately, we have good friends. Another development - Al says Jeff's brain tumor is giving him more trouble. So now HE'S got to go back to Seattle, too! He thinks he can drive though. I'm not convinced of that but they are so afraid of causing us inconvenience. We tell them that's what we're here for and really, have nothing else important to do with our time. So Albert is worrying about, and trying to be a support to Jeff. And Jeff the same about Albert! And Al's wife just can't be support to anyone. She just stays home and frets and cries. The poor family!

CHICKIE, this morning I'll check before hitting "post" to make sure I don't stumble over your (or anyone's) toes! Sorry. And I'm so sorry about Blackie. One of the bad things about farm life. But like you said, you have Pocket Lint! And I remember Phantom, too. And what is Other Calf's name? I guess we better name her! Pebbles! I always thought that to be an inspired name in the Flintstones. Sending hugs! To you and to all your babies.

IRISH - oh no! How is Jim now? And how is YOU?? Did they get his numbers straightened out? Has he been discharged or still in the hospital? You have such a full plate. Sending hugs to you, too!!

BECCA - your kitchen must be sparkling by now! How's the saga of your furnace?

TINA- glad you popped in! Your dad moved back into the house even with no heat and two broken windows? Glad to hear the power is on now. Sounds like progress is being made every day. We are missing you here, but know you're busy! If you remember what you want to ask, give us a call. If it's middle of the night, give Jana a call! lol!

JANA - stand by for the call from Tina, OK? ;o)

VELDA - shame on your DH! Bending our rules like that! I bet Willie doesn't object to 'catfood' for supper! Hope you warm up soon!

Supper is going to be Casablanca Chicken. Kathy posted over in sew-in that she was making it. Sounded intriguing so I Googled a recipe. I had all the ingredients, so I popped it into the crockpot and dinner is a-cookin' even as I type! Stay tuned tomorrow for reviews.

What do you plan to pop onto your plate tonite?

I thought I was here yesterday, ah, some days are like that, I guess.
Mary, I thought your wall paper was really pretty. I would love to hae some paneling like your brother made. Pretty special. And I thought I was taking the day AFTER the holiday off, and the baby brats would be back in school, but no, they had to let them stay out one more day! And they were expecting another, but this mean grandma made them get on the bus anyway. Even though it was over a half hour late, and it was a different bus.....apparently they had issues still...
Chickie, sorry you lost some of your play mates, but glad DS saved you some. He is a good son! Sounds like you will be very busy the next few months.
Irish, so sorry for your news, hugs to you.
And Becca and Tina, look at you all go! Busy little bees.
Well, guess I need to get back at it, we will have chicken tenders and maybe some mac and cheese tonight. Sounds easy enough. I will have to google your recipe Mary. That sounds interesting too....
Later Becky

Hello everyone, sunny here & warming.Went out this morning.Almost come But Home but forged on.No one on rd until I hit 4 lane.Very few then.We are up to 38.

Maryz There is more shine here now.The part is ordered for HP.Its running so far.The Guy Tried when he was here 1 st time to fix it to last until part come in.Its kept us warm in this frigid weather.
I’m so sorry to hear about your nephew.Too bad his Mother can’t be there for them both. Some people don’t do well in those cases.I will keep both of them in my prayers. What a blessing that Bill can handle the traffic .

Chickie I would grieve too over the babies.I used to try to hide when I knew it was Hog killing time or when a cow was slaughtered. Not my cup of tea whether they were pets or not.

Irish Thinking of you today & Sending Cherry thoughts your way.Hoping Jim is settled in & you got to see him.One time when I was sitting with my Dad in the Hospital he told me if he could just see my Mom he felt better.I went Home ,put Mom in wheel chair & off to Hospital we went.It was a big job to get her there up the floors on elevator & back Home again. But it was so worth it to see them get to be together.

Tina Thinking of you & hoping Dad is warm & things are coming along.Know you have had cold weather to deal with too.

Becky Hope Someone is helping you out in Kitchen Duty.Maybe you need to make a chore list.

I. Have my pot of soup with ham bone & lots of veggies. And will do a dish of cornbread.

Hi friends.
LOL, Mary, you are right, Willy does like the forbidden food as much as DH. You would have laughed at him, whimmpering and whining as he waited for us to eat. He is put on the sofa and must stay put. We don't allow him to be at or under the table and begging. He sounds like he had a belly ache when he carries on like that.
Tonight we are having Cheesy Hashbrown Hamburger Helper made with ground turkey. He won't say a peep or make a fuss tonight because it's not something he is excited about. LOL Silly dog!

Good afternoon!

Getting colder and grayer here - finally a big storm is rolling in from the West Coast. Very weird to look out and not see several inches of snow on the ground. Just brown dormant grass.

Struggling with getting my talk together - but it will come - hopefully sooner than later.

Sarah has finally come up with a design for our little Lila's baby quilt. Kate told us that she is doing the baby's room in yellow and gray. So we will go from there. What is it with this new generation and everything is gray? Not my choice of colors, but will do. I am just the grandma! LOL

Dinner - humm - don't know, but even if nothing showed up on the table, we would survive. We have plenty of extra storage on our bodies! There is plenty to make something in the house, just might not be in the mood. My BFF had a saying on her refrig - "you's not fat, just fluffy" I am definetly fluffy!

Enjoy!
Jana
