SUPPER CLUB - Saturday, Jan 13th
Good morning,
Not a lot to report this morning. Yesterday was chiropractor, walk, sewing, and then cross-stitching with TV last night. Today - probably much of the same except I swap the chiropractor for some football watching.
Bill and I started thinking about preparations for the influx of family when Al has his surgery. We ordered one inflatable mattress and we can borrow another one if necessary. Plus we have our trailer. And I've made a list of easy meals. I think we're as ready as we can be at this stage. Now all we need is a patient!
CHICKIE - brrrr!! Is Doyal having to chop ice in the pond for the cattle? I bet those calves are all happy to see Pink Mama coming with milk and food!
IRISH - A new car is exciting, but I understand how you're feeling about it. When I suddenly HAD to buy a car (back in 1985), a family friend walked me through the process, took me shopping, explained things to me, offered advice, and actually did most of the talking for me. He even talked them into swapping the tires for better ones and giving me a better warranty. (I ended up with a red Chevy Blazer, by the way. It was the purrfect vehicle for me because I had 3 kids, 8, 10, 13, and they and all their stuff, their friends, and their friends' stuff had to be hauled all over kingdom come for their activities.)
JANA - I've never had heated seats, but I've sat in other folks'. Aaahhhhhh.... My friend has a Porsche and I got to ride in it once and she has seats that cool! Great for hot flashes!! lol!
BECCA - how bad is your big chill? Did you get your furnace fixed? I hope you are warm and snug and have all you need to keep cozy in this latest cold snap.
TINA - that makes more sense now! Did the house get moved? Mike and I moved a trailer house once (back in 1971 so maybe things are different now) and it only took them a day to get everything all hooked up so we could move in. I hope it goes as smoothly for your dad. how was the bourbon chicken? I don't like to drink bourbon but I do like things cooked with it.
We enjoyed our pot roast last night. Done to purrfection in the crock pot. So with the leftovers I'll make either soup, hash, or BBQ'd beef sandwiches. I'm leaning towards hash.
How's supper looking at your house?

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Saturday, Jan 13th
Good early afternoon from the Tundra...I'm not going to say, "Winter Wonderland" because we all know how I feel about winter but do wonder when it's leaving......But, we do have sun, going to about 16 this afternoon and then 0 tonight....
Even my poor outside, Jake, is wondering...The snow came so fast it even covered my back porch which is under cover...Poor Jake's cat house is up against the house and looked like an igloo...He wasn't sure he wanted breakfast or not...Then when I got the paper, I decided to let BabyGirl get a feel of the snow...Funniest thing ever, she ran out and that quickly ran back in...Did this about 3 times and decided, she had enough...I just hate to think of all those homeless people and animals that have to endure this cold.....
Mary, you sound like you're prepared but as you said, need that patient....You have me thinking of pot roast and might have to check the freezer...I get the urge for something and then by the time it's done, I'm not hungry....But, I just might have to mix up a batch of cinnamon/sticky rolls (with lots of raisins).....
Becca, I think I'd be at a loss if our power went out...We do have gas and I'm sure there's some way to manually do the furnace but I sure wouldn't know how. The stove has an automatic start but the burners can be lit with a match...Guess I wouldn't starve, lol....But, thank goodness the boys that live close have fire places and lots and lots of logs...Your dinner sounds super.....
Tina, hopefully, things will quiet down, you deserve some peace and quiet....I think these days, moving a mobile home has gotten much, much better...When Terry was 1st married, they bought one from our neighbor and had it moved..I was all set on taping the big move and would you believe, before I had the camera set up, they had the mobile pulled out and on their way to it's new home...They moved it about 20 miles, up and down lots of hills and the only thing damaged was a storm window....It will be good for you and for your Dad to have him close....Hang in there, it's going to get better.....
Chickie, I keep thinking of you, out there in the cold, feeding and taking care of your 4 legged pets...They are a bunch of very, very lucky animals....
Today, instead of playing in the snow (yea right), I'm doing uglies and laundry...The house has been neglected just because I've been lazy so today, I'm fixing that problem! BabyGirl wants to play and has all her toys scattered everywhere and who can say no to a fur baby.....Not that these "kids" are spoiled but I won't even run the vacuum if they are napping....
Yesterday's visit with Jim was a little better, but it really bothers me, when I get there and no one has even combed his hair..I know, these gals are busy but I know this would mean so much to most of these people...But, we had a good visit, him mostly resting, me sitting there reading...I had taken him a bunch of those containers of jello and that made him smile..With this weather, I might not be able to visit for a couple of days but we'll see....
And Mary, not too worry about my tush getting cold, any new car I get will have those warm seats, for sure! I'll bet you really looked spiffy in your red Blazer.....
As for dinner, will be checking the freezer but I'm really thinking about that batch of cinnamon rolls......
You all have a great day, please stay safe and warm.....
Happy eating................

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Saturday, Jan 13th
I'm stopping in.
The trailer movie got stuck in a bad storm in Texas and Dad didn't hear from anyone. Hopefully tomorrow.
The bourbon chicken was very yummy, Dad, Frankie and Jazmyne all had seconds. I'm doing grilled Reubens tomorrow for supper, Dad loves those.
We went and spent some time with him today, Jazmyne was with us so he got lots of hugs and that made his day.
I got a massage today, my girl moved away a few mouths ago but she found this other girl for me and she's very good and she got rid of my 3 week headache. I made an appointment to go back in 2 weeks.
