SUPPER CLUB - Saturday, Jan 6th

Post by purrfect-lady » Sat Jan 06, 2018 3:20 am

Good morning!

A quiet weekend here. No plans, no chores, no football. Guess I'll be sewing Valentine blocks. That won't take long though as so far, we only have 8 signed up and 3 thinking about it. So lots of room and lots of time to sew! Clear up until March 10th. Think of all you could do with those 'heart'warming blocks! Table runners, placemats, pillows, lap quilts, cat blankets (a hot commodity in my house!), tote bags, a big quilt, wall hangings, gifts. Endless ideas!

IRISH - OK, now! Tell me again just why you had to climb up on a ladder?? I guess I would have done the same thing. But didn't you do this a while back during an episode that didn't end well?? You are a naughty Irish! Seriously, though, you should probably go get checked out. Especially if you hit your head. Or your forehead. Sometimes a sub-dural hematoma can develop days after an accident. And they aren't good and need treatment. Just to be safe - go to the doctor. please? Get your head examined. 🤕. And what was Nick's interview for? I missed that? And when he goes back to college is he driving or flying? Both look dicey right now. More baby eagles on the way! Wish people parents were as good as eagle parents!

JANA - congratulations to Ethan on the loss of his first tooth! Glad he can eat again! When I was about 6 we raised corn and had it every night for supper. I LOVED corn on the cob and I lost 6 teeth, all in the front of my mouth, all about the same time. I had to gnaw my corn from the side of my mouth, but I managed and came up a corny mess for it! Ethan can just be glad it isn't corn season! 🌽 lol!

BECKY - are you in the deep freeze like so much of the nation?

BECCA - I'm glad your DH is feeling a bit better. Do you really think your DH might have had another stroke? A TIA for full blown stroke? Did he go to the doctor? He does worry us!

CHICKIE - so have you heard any more on your quilt? Did your uncle just love it?? That Pocket Lint and Blackie sure know where their bread is buttered! I've been wondering though - what exactly is 'sweet feed'? I'm picturing some kind of healthy cow candy that comes in lump form. Maybe made out of oats and honey . . .

TINA - I hope things are looking up for you and your family now. I know you said your parents' house has to be moved this week or the permit will run out. Is all the stuff removed from the house? I'm kind of afraid to ask where it all had to go . .

LINDA - our hubbies are so opposite each other! Bill loves a good excuse to sit at the computer all morning long, then take a nap, then watch a movie. His idea of a purrfect day! He has a 24x36 foot shop but not much goes on out there.

I made a big pot of chili yesterday and it's usually better the second time around. So I've got supper all ready to go. I was even able too put our own jalapenos in it that I grew myself in a pot on our deck last summer. Yum!

I hope your supper is YUM tonite, whatever it is - within reason, of course. WE do have rules!

Good morning
Today is Dad's birthday and I have a crock pot full of about 10 pounds of BBQ brisket! I've invited the bunch and looks like John might be working but I haven't gotten the for sure yet but Jamie, Tracy, Holly and the kids and us will be here....maybe 10 in all. Holly came up with the menu of everything to go with it; potato salad, green beans with bacon, regular salad so the meats all ready on and Holly is going to help me with the rest this afternoon. I might add cole slaw to the sides. I'm making the chocolate cake on the Hershey's Coco can and we have ice cream.

We're going tomorrow to start taking the stuff out of the trailer that's coming to my house, plus Dad is trying to find the life insurance policies.....so far no luck there but they are auto withdrawn from the bank every month so we know what we're looking for.
Monday I get the boys back, I think this will be a good thing. I need their silliness right now.

Hello everyone from sunny but cold Carolina. We are to change next wk.YAH!!

Maryz The stroke was a stroke bec he’s had enough I know how he does after one & during. He Used to have TIAs then he had 2 major strokes.Since then he’s had many mini strokes. This one was different in some ways but he didn’t want to go to ER.He doesn’t want anything done to try to save his life,He has a DNR.Hes suffered for 20plus years so I understand perfectly.Just feel so bad for him.Constant pain to deal with too.Sorry about the book.

Irish WOW you & Chickie have a contest going.Sure hope I don’t get involved.Someone here needs to be able to move.lolSeriously I am thankful you felt no breaks but a check up wouldn’t hurt.I know you’re like me don’t want to go.Praying there’s no after effects.
Would be great if parents of children were all that involved.

Chickie I’m convinced your pets get better care than lots of kids.Sad to say.

Rose Sure hope DH can get out soon.Sure he’s probably like a caged lion.Mine had to adjust to being inside.

Jana Ethan is now missing teeth. They are so cute when they lose their first.

Tina Prayers for all of you.And that Dad can get moved.

Ladies I got a package yesterday that was a BIG surprise. The sweet ladies of The Supper Club made me a beautiful quilt .It is so pretty on my bed.The lining & quilt remind me of my Mother’s beautiful flower gardens. And it will remind me of both of my Brothers I Lost.Good memories.I will be forever grateful to each one of you.Hugs to all who had a part.i was overwhelmed to know someone took their time to do that for me. Thanks to all.

One of our chicken pies will be gracing our table today.I made Cole slaw to go with it .And We have salad too & lots of goodies. Happy eating & stay warm. Becca

Hello ladies,
We are up to 22 today! We are excited! Sadly, the forecast is for freezing rain, snow and possibly rain tomorrow. The advisory starts at 9am. DH says that if we get rain, it will surely have to warm up some. I hope so.
We have chicken tonight, not exactly sure what form it will take. Maybe grilled, as the kiddows want some ranch fries. With a salad, and green beans we should be good. I need to vacumn yet today, and I think we have 3 or 4 loads of laundry left. I may get to sew tomorrow!
Becca, hugs to you. Your chicken pie sounds good too. And the coleslaw. I can't seem to get a good dressing on mine, I have pretty much given up on slaw.
Tina, your brisket sounds good too, as does the rest of your menu. Do you have to move a lot out of your dad's mobile home? Hope it works out that they don't have to get another permit.
I'll bet Ethan is so cute without his tooth. Might be worth getting some of that frozen corn on the cob, just to see if he can do it. He may be missing some this summer also! Practice and all.
Have a great weekend. Becky

Good afternoon!

Yes, Ethan is adorable! Grinning all the time.

Change of dinner plans. I was putting a pot roast in my crockpot for our dinner - just a small one. But before I did, Matt called and wants my buttermilk pancakes and they are bringing out the juice, sausage and bacon for dinner. So tomorrow will be the roast.

Michael and I have been rearranging the shelves in the pantry downstairs. It had got slightly out of order. So we moved items to different shelves and freed up some more space. Still need to restock my upstairs, but that can be done a few cans at a time.

Haven't heard from the barn door people for my bathroom downstairs. Now everything is out of that space, I can plan the finishing touches. It will be very farmhouse style. Rustic.

Well, need to get some cupcakes or rice krispie treats made for my gremlins.

Enjoy!
Jana
