SUPPER CLUB - Friday, Nov 3rd
Good morning!
No jury duty! Yay! Good thing! Besides our Emily, we have 3 more family members who are very sick plus 3 friends who have or are having orthopedic surgery within a few weeks of each other and I try to provide at least a couple of meals for each them. It must be New Joint Month and everyone I know decided to celebrate in a big way.
Bill will be gone all morning with his sister, Becky. They are going to Bremerton to visit their brother with cancer. While they are gone, I plan to bake some cookies, make some meal plans, and sew binding on a quilt made from last year's Christmas lotto winnings. If I have any time left, I'll be going through my stash, seeing what I have and don't have. The big semi-annual 40% off sale I go to every June and November starts next Tuesday and I want to be ready. The lady who owns this shop is in her mid-70's at least. Who knows how much longer she'll keep her shop open and Bill keeps telling me - stock up at these sales because her regular prices run from $6-$10 - all quilt shop quality fabrics. So at $3-$5/yd, I buy blenders and backings mostly but whatever else might catch my eye. Maybe I'll look at florals this time. Or solids. Those are real gaps in my stash.
Yesterday Bill put another quilt on the frame! It's 104" square and I pieced this top almost two years ago. I am excited to see it finally getting finished! After this, there are only 5 more tops awaiting his attention. Down from 12 or 13. Go, Bill, GO!!
Tonite's supper will be chicken enchilada casserole. I have the chicken mixture all made up in the freezer. all I have to do is assemble it. With a big salad. Easy peasy! Ooooh - peas! maybe I'll have them, too!
What's striking your culinary fancy for tonite?

Good morning from a very, very dark, dreary, rainy, chilly, SW. Pa...Not a good day for outside stuff so I just might have to meet the gals for lunch.......
Mary, my heavens, what's up with all the "replacements"???? But, isn't it great that those things can happen and the worn out or bad can be fixed.....A friend of mine had her hip done in August and has been complaining how bad it was, worse than her knee replacement????? I teased her about being old (80) she's 2 weeks older than me, lol..
Sounds like you got Bill on a roll...Maybe I should get the hint and get myself "rolling" and dig into my UFOs.....
Yesterday was a fun day but tiresome....Lots of running and was a big winner at bingo, brought home $12.00...And one tiny, older lady won the big jack pot of close to $400.00...She is there every week and everyone was so happy to see her win...Heck I was happy with my loot....
Today is lunch with the girls and then visit with Jim...House is still neat and clean so I'm a happy, happy gal....
My dinner tonight will be left over from lunch, I can almost bet on it.....
You all have a great day..........
Happy eating..............

Good morning!
Mary - I have thought about the quilting on my JN. I am not a accomplished LA'er, so may have it sent out. The teacher has a compertized LA with the JN quilting program, so will see how much she charges. I have even thought about adding the Qbot to my machine, but it does not play nice with my machine - problems listed on the Qbot site. It may even get quilted very simply by me, we will see.
Irish - as I read your post, I thought you had won $1200, not 12.00! What a difference a decimal point makes! LOL
Dinner - we have leftover from last night, part of the steaks we ate, so will add a salad and call it good.
Heading to the cave to sew on my JN - so close!
Enjoy,
Jana

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Friday, Nov 3rd
Hi everyone
I could have sworn I posted yesterday. ..... guess not. We ate pork chops and salad.
It's my turn tonight to cook for Mom and Dad, I'm making meatloaf, potatoes, carrots and peas.
I'm not feeling very swift. I think the kids finally succeeded at getting me sick. Bummer. But I can't take time off until Sunday, I gotta get the kitchen packed up with the help of my 6'4" younger brother doing the upper cabinets that I can't reach. Frankie and Kevin will be taking the fence down and the rest of the steps and the skirting. It is supposed to be ready for Dad to call the movers next week.
Irish, yay on your win! I love playing bingo!
Mary, I'm so happy that Bill is getting those quilts quilted for you.
Becca, I dislike shopping with a passion.
Jana, I wish I had leftovers. Frankie asked me how I thought Mom would react if I took her a grilled ham and cheese for supper LOL I can tell you it wouldn't be pretty! It's a joke with me and Frankie because once I took lunch meat and everything for sandwiches because they never have any food to make and we were all working and we don't like taking breaks to go out to eat. Any how long story short. ... Dad was gonna pay me back for the food I bought for lunch and Mom yelled that he wasn't going to pay me back for a stinking sandwich. .... me and Frankie laugh about it.
She said it with such distaste like I fed her something low and disgusting LOL Dad felt bad but I wouldn't let him pay me, we took it so we didn't have to eat out.
