Oct 19 Daily devotion

Psalm 90
Time is an element of creation and belongs only in the world. For a timeless and eternal God, there is little difference between a thousand years and a day. But He who is everlasting created the world as our dwelling place, and we have a stewardship to the One who gave us life to use the time we are given appropriately. We no longer have the 900 plus years of a Methuselah; typically longevity is only 70 to 80 years. Though life may be extended for some, we need to recognize that the years of productivity and influence are limited. One with a heart of wisdom will understand this and realize how important it is to use each day in serving the LORD and living for Him.

Our desire should be that all our days would be filled with gladness and joy because we experience God's loving-kindness.

Hugs and prayers

We each have been given 24 hours a day. No more, no less. We are the stewards of those minutes and how we choose to use them. A wise leader of the church once counseled on the use of time. 8 hours of work, 8 hours of sleep and 8 hours to recreate. How we recreate tells much about us. Recreation makes us happy - serving our families and others does too. When we serve others, they are happy too. In turn, a loving Father in Heaven is pleased too, smiling down on us.
