SUPPER CLUB - Wed, Aug 16th

Post by purrfect-lady » Wed Aug 16, 2017 3:42 am

Good morning! Our weather has been purrfect! Other than needing rain that is. our temps are mid-upper 70's now. aaahhh.. .. We just aren't used to those upper 90's here in the PNW!!

Yesterday we really got a lot done on our wood detail. I'm not sure where Bill got all the energy, but we did 3 times what we usually do in one 'trip to the woodshed'. Then he washed both vehicles and used the tractor to work on leveling out a small incline in our back yard. After that he went to friends and spent 3 hours on their computer equipment, helping them make some changes. I think he didn't want to settle down because then he had time to think about his brother.

Today is CLEAN THIS HOUSE! The kitchen floor is sticky from all the jam and pickle business. and from the watermelon I dropped on it. The living room is dusty and hairy, and the bathrooms need some spit and polish. I don't dare go into my sewing room to clean because I know I'll never come back out!!

TINA - you have such patience and fortitude when it comes to your family. As my dad always used to say, Your reward in heaven will be great! bless you!

JANA - happy anniversary!! How is your tooth? And please refresh my memory on where Stu is going to college. Snow College is sticking in my mind. I know there's a campus in Richfield, but seems like he wasn't going to that campus. thank you for your complements on my quilt!

BECCA - I sure hope your docs get it together quickly and get on top of whatever is ailing you. I think usually it's office staff that bog things down. Bill's brother was told 2 weeks for lab and test results but his doctor buzzed through all that, knocked a few heads together, and got everything within a day. It can be done. They just don't usually do it.

CHICKIE - I feel for you working in the wood in those temps! at least it's only in the 70's here and we only work in the cool of the morning. I think investing in those chainsaw pants is a great idea! But I understand your wish to be with him when he's using the chainsaw. I'd feel the same way. But not when the mowing is going on!! I think he should help you in the sewing room in exchange for you helping him mow (and lay floors, etc). Equal time. I bet you'd be off the rental detail in the first two minutes!! lol!

Scottie and I will be off to the bark park with my walking buddy and her new dog, Duchess, Scottie's new love. She's a beautiful, small white German shepherd who is loving her new life with my friend, Lori. Then it will be wood, and uglies. A good, busy day!

Supper will be the Italian layered dish I made last night with spinach in the middle layer. We really enjoyed it last night.

What are you enjoying tonite?

Good morning!

Mary—I can send you some steam… not the same as rain however. We were hoping for rain last night, but it went around us. I am going to do floors first this morning, then maybe get to sew unless I have to go to the woods… You really had a BUSY day! Mine was too—mainly taking care of dogs and taking Choc to ex-DDIL for “visitation” and picking her up. I couldn’t get Maggie to load up without losing a finger or part of an arm, so she stayed home. She’s really a cranky thing—doggie dementia and just a snotty personality since she was adopted. Choc is a big, happy, easy going Lab.

So Scottie has a new love! Tinker Bell may be jealous, so I won’t tell her. DH was trying to get her fixed up with a Bassett in Mexico via Facebook. So funny! Clyde is owned by a former co-worker he re-connected with through another former co-worker.

IRISH—Happy birthday!!! I’m here today, and actually remembered… It’s a great day because you are in the world! So happy to know you!!!

You’d think with all the walking and work outside in the steam and high temperatures the fat would just melt away… it’s not! I’m so bummed! My face melts and drips on my shirt, but I seem to just swell up everywhere else. Hoping not to go to the woods today, but I have a feeling it will be on DH’s agenda. He mowed the yard yesterday and finished his project in the shop. He made the prettiest little boxes—like secretaries –for the grands getting married. He is going to write up cards and describe them—cedar cut from the farm and milled by him here, etc…

DH would never wear the chainsaw pants. Neighbor has some and never wears them. I know they would be hot as heck here, too. I keep trying to get him interested in my sewing room, but he just laughs and walks out. I usually get my pay in retail therapy at my favorite quilting sites! He doesn’t realize how much it costs him to hire me!

Jana—happy anniversary! Hope you have many more happy years together!
Dinner here I think might be BLTs with watermelon… it’s summer! Bon appétit!

Good morning ;)
Happy happy birthday Irish! I hope your day is wonderful, just like you! ♡
Mary, I need to do a good cleaning again here but I'm sure it's gonna wait ugh my arm is being a pain and Frankie is so behind outside that I know I'm going to give in and do that this weekend. The mosquitos are so bad from the weeds and grass being so tall that I can't even go outside so I'm gonna have to do something drastic. I've always fine the outside except for using the gas weed eater and he mows here and there but I'd say I do about 90%. I keep hoping he'll get it done and do more yard work but even when he does it it's just not the same. ...I take extra pride in it, it's just a chore to him.
Chickie, what kind of dog is Maggie? I'm sure you've said but I've forgotten. I hope you get some seeing time in today.
Christmas is only 4 months away! Eek!
Tonight were gonna have pork chops, zucchini, salad and not sure if anything else.
