Baby Quilt

Post by chilli46 » Fri Jul 07, 2017 3:49 am

I am new to quilting and making a baby quilt for my cousin's baby who's due in December. I'd like to make it out of a charm pack but not sure how may blocks I would need to make a 42" x 54" quilt.

Charms are 5 inches square, so dividing by that 5 inches, the width is approximately 8 charms across. The same rule holds true for tge length, 10 down. You can adjust that basic number by adding borders and removing charms as needed.

The finished measurement of each block would be 4.5", so you should divide your measurements 42x54 by 4.5" to determine your layout.
