SUPPER CLUB - tuesday, June 27

Post by purrfect-lady » Tue Jun 27, 2017 3:21 am

Good Morning!

I'm home, Mom!! We got home Sunday night after a nearly 400 mile run. We were going to do it in two days, but it was so blinkin' hot that we decided to just keep rolling. I must have been tired because Monday morning I slept right through Sew-in and supper club! Then computer was sluggish so I got right into the laundry. Two weeks worth. Today will be doing the trailer bedding. Also running into Tacoma too pick up "Stitch" and "Dyson" who were at the Sew'n'Vac Spa while we were gone. I hope to swing by a few quilt shops while in Tacoma to pick up some RBR's.

So - what have I missed??

IRISH - how is Jim? How is YOU?

BECCA - your remark in Sew-in woke me up a little! lol!!

TINA - how were your reunions? How are the parents?

CHICKIE - You've had a busy few days, too! You have Tasha for the week now, right?

JANA - did Sarah have her surgery? I missed what she is having done. How is your niece who had surgery last month?

Last night we had burgers on the grill. Our friends, Tex & Annette, said they wanted to come over to share a special bottle of wine they'd been saving. They said they'd bring pizza and a bagged salad. but we already had burgers and greens so we did that instead. They were at the rally with us. They've decided they want a new Arctic Fox fifth-wheel (theirs is 13 yrs old) and had been shopping all day so we spent the evening going through all the brochures It's always fun for RV-ers to talk RV's. It's like talking quilting with other quilters. While they were here, we heard from another of our rally friends who got T-boned on passenger side of truck while stopping for a tire repair. Fortunately, wife and trailer were back in camp and person at fault has insurance. And his truck is repairable. so blessings abound, but his truck is his BABY!

Today I'm going to go through my Christmas fabrics for the July lotto. I like the block and it's an opportunity to use up some of my scraps. And I LOVE anything to do with Christmas!

supper will be on the grill tonite, I think. Pork chops and potatoes with salad on the side. also, maybe some applesauce. Time to use up the last of my canned applesauce as it's almost time to make more . . I'm thinking when it's applesauce making/canning time I might ask my grandson who is almost through culinary school, to join me in the kitchen and then share the bounty with him.

Well, I've nattered on quite long enough. so good to be home! What's for supper at your house tonite?

Good morning :)
Welcome home Mary! Some of our highs must've slipped up there to you.
Mom had a Dr's appointment yesterday, they did some tests and xrays and she said they think she might be in congestive heart failure and they'll let her know by Friday. I'm thinking mom said that and not the Dr but I haven't gotten to talk to Dad yet. Dad has good days and bad days, so far he is doing on the driving though.
Jazmyne spent the night Sunday night so we played all day yesterday because it was just the 2 of us.
Supper tonight will be pulled pork and potato salad and a salad.

Good morning!

Welcome home Mary! The heat from Tina came through here first. We kept some for us and sent the rest on! Did you win the big prize at the rally?

Tina - play day with just one grand is grand!

Sarah's surgery went very well yesterday. She will be home sometime today. It was a full hysterectomy. She had rebellious ovaries, which needed to be removed, so the doctor suggested the whole thing. Ethan talked to her last night and she sounded good.

My niece, Sandee came over yesterday as well. She is doing great. Since the surgery, she has lost 45 pounds. The doctor expects the weight loss to be about 20 pounds a month. Her husband has the same surgery scheduled for the end of July. This will be so good for the both of them.

Dinner - depends on if my termite us still here. If he is, I think tacos will be his choice.

I still have aprons to finish, so that is my day.

Enjoy!
Jana

Morning everyone:

I am finally back home after being in San Diego and Colorado. Unfortunately I am feeling terrible. I have to wear the Transderm Scope patch for motion sickness to fly and then when I take it off I have withdrawal symptoms for a week. So I have not been able to do much so far this week. At least I am losing some weight by not eating. I have been dragging my butt to the office trying to help DH sort everything out. His office manager was supposed to finalize the business end of it but she already has another job lined up and is not here 1/2 the time. I can't blame her, but it sure makes is hard for me. I shouldn't have to clean up her mess.

We have been so hot here that the pool is 94 and not even refreshing. Plus the snowpack is melting above us and sending so much water down the Kings River, that there is flooding all along it. Fortunately we are on high ground.

Can't even think about dinner right now...couldn't eat breakfast either. DH will probably come up with something tonight. Have a good day, you all!

Good early afternoon from slightly cooler, semi sunny, Sw. Pa...Waking up to 50+ degrees is not my idea of summer, I even heard the furnace reluctantly come on, lol....But, I guess all that heat from the west will be fast approaching so I'm not complaining...I had Terry install a new whole house exhaust fan so I'm anxious to give it a good workout, lol...We do have AC but the 2nd floor just doesn't cool off enough so this fan should do the job...I had to laugh when he turned it on, thought it was going to suck him right out.....

Oh Mary, so good to have to back home, but so sorry to hear about your friends and his truck...Thank goodness no one was hurt...
Jim is doing, I think, really good...I think he's adapted very well and what is funny...Jim was never what you call a social person but now he seems to be the "meeter and greeter"...He makes it a point to stop and ask everyone how their doing? Of course most people have no idea what he's saying and he probably doesn't know what they say back but it's really neat to watch...
And I'm doing very well, just the normal aches and pains, lol....But, I have learned, when you get to be 39, you do have to sometimes take it easy....That long list of "uglies" inside and out, just takes longer, lol.....
Our Jackie is heading in your direction tomorrow and I'm really anxious to hear where all she visits...If she's anything like her mother, she won't be resting until she gets back home...

Jana, Glad to hear all went well with Sarah's surgery...But, I still have a hard time with sending a person home so quickly..Of course, back in my day (lol), I think I stayed a week...But, with your family around, she'll be well taken care of...

Tina, I'm beginning to think your Dad is Superman...We know he's special to be doing all he's doing and we certainly know where you get it....And if you don't mine, you can keep just a tad of that hot weather, we don't want it all......

Becca, thinking about you, hoping everything is good in your neck of the woods....

It seems the last week or so have been taken up with funeral visiting or funerals and hopefully, that's over...My funeral clothes need a rest! I had not told Jim about his best friend, Larry, passing, haven't even mentioned his name in ages BUT would you believe, yesterday, he said, Larry stopped to see him...He often talks about his deceased friends visiting him and even Kathy said, maybe they do...It was just very strange that he brought up Larry...
I decided it was time to change the curtains/drapes upstairs and finally get the summer stuff up...So, line is filled with sheers and 2 summer quilts...Will be leaving to visit with Jim so summer will hit upstairs tomorrow....And if it gets warm up there, heck I have a new fan, lol....

As far as dinner, probably not going to happen....I've found, I usually grab a sandwich for lunch and then maybe cheese and crackers or cereal for dinner...If it wasn't for buying cat food, I don't think I'd be doing too much "food" shopping..Well, except for my chips....

You all have a great day....

Happy eating.................
