SUPPER CLUB - Monday, April 24th
Good morning,
It's raining and my old man is still snoring. Even Scottie went back to bed as soon as it became evident that breakfast was over and no dessert was forthcoming.
Yesterday we went to Home Depot and I bought a few perennials and planted them near the red geraniums - blue lithodora, white candytuft, and I couldn't resist the rich gold of the Basket of Gold. I should have flowers most of the spring now and well into summer. If summer ever gets here. Farmers Almanac predicted a colder, wetter spring that usual and they sure got that right!
I have about ten postcards finished for my DD's library art show. I'm having a lot of fun doing them because each one is like making a tiny quilt so the project changes constantly. Think 4x6 mug rugs. I plan to make some more today.
CHRISS - what an honor to have you sit down at the table with us! We'd love to have you join us more often! So sorry you've been sick, but hope you're back in the pink of things again soon. And no, I have no idea where the phrase "under the weather" came from or what it means. Or "in the pink" either! And I'd love some of your mac'n'cheese - my favorite - as long as it's The Right Stuff! Please come back soon!
JANA - we went through Golden Gate Park with my parents in 1965. I remember my mom oohing and ahhing over the rhodies in bloom then! No buffalo or merry-go-rounds though. If they were there we either didn't see them or they didn't stick with me. But glad the memory of my mom did!
BECCA - you're climbing in windows, too?! Ladies, why don't you hide a key outside for just such occasions as these? and why aren't your windows locked?
IRISH - is there a time of day that Jim is more open to eating? Maybe you could switch your main meal to that time instead and just have a light bite at usual suppertime. Or maybe you're already doing that . . . How was yesterday with Terry? Even I am very relieved to have him back home again! How is he liking his new job?
CHICKIE - your little calf charges are growing up! And you look adorable in your overalls! A bold fashion statement but you can pull it off! lol! Yes, your Tasha is quite a talented young lady! Is she interested in any other sport? Track was the only one that caught Autumn's eye but she injured her knee the first few weeks and doctor said that was all for her! No more track.
Bill has declared he wants to grill chicken tonite. We have a big sweet potato that isn't getting any younger, and a whole crisper full of veggies we can either grill, roast, or saute - broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, snap peas, celery, and onions.
What are you declaring for your supper tonite?

Good morning!
Oh how i would love to plant flowers, but alas i have to wait until after Mother's day - still a chance of freezing. Wish the weeds understood that and would freeze off and be gone! My lawn is beautiful and green.
No idea on dinner - only a 2 ribs left, so that will be lunch. Plently to choose from in the freezer for dinner.
I think we all need the new gadgets that are the smart locks for the doors that are operated from your phone by a app. Of course that means i need a new phone, mine is just a dumb phone. Then no more climbing in windows. My kids would pay money to see me climb through a window! Such nice kids - not! LOL
Enjoy!

Good morning
here I am
I don't think I made it on anything this weekend. Jazmyne stayed the night Friday and didn't go home till late evening on Saturday and then yesterday I worked in the yards for 8 hours then have Frankie a haircut, I'm still exhausted LOL but my yards and around outside the fences looks really nice
I didn't even get anything done inside this weekend so I'm working on that today just not working very hard at it, I feel a nap is already needed LOL I still need to hold out for 3 1/2 more hours till then though.
I'm going to make tacos for supper, they're super easy and fast and minimal cleanup which I need today
I'll try to read and get caught up today too
Tina

Good afternoon ! I have yard calves again today. They have been exploring and having a big time. Lint is good to stay with smaller, slower Blackie, but awhile ago when I went to check on them and find them, Lint saw me and followed me back to the house. Oops! They really are funny! I just wish they still didn’t need me to help with feeding time. It would be so nice to just hang the buckets and let them have at it.
Mary, you are such an overachiever with the postcards. I know Autumn will be thrilled with your creativity! They are on my mind…
Tasha has played soccer and done cheerleading. She was super good at cheerleading, but as the girls got older it wasn’t as fun—cliquey.
We are windy, windy, windy… after the perfect day yesterday. Perfection never lasts. Still, it’s sunny and pleasant! I need to do a lot of yard work and plant my tomatoes and rest of the begonias.
Becca—with the dampness, my getting ready for tomatoes should go quicker. Good point for doing it now! I’m always cooking two meals here, too. It’s harder for the two of us than for a crowd!
Dinner tonight will involve Rice-a-roni and some ham with some veggies thrown in… I’ll have more ideas about 15 minutes before we sit down at the table.
Bon appétit!

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Monday, April 24th
Good afternoon from a dreary, looking like rain, Sw. Pa....Our yesterday was great, weather wise and Terry wise, lol.....
Mary, I love red geraniums and with your other flowers, your place will look so purrrfect....I have yet to even think of planting flowers...To start, I have to get the soil off the patio and back in flower beds...Just not sure what I'll be d doing....I did mention to Terry that instead of having him spade the garden, maybe I'd just plant tomatoes in my big old litter containers...Of course I could plant them in the flower bed also..And like Jana, we wait until the end of May before planting..........And as far as the graves, this year will be silk....Our meal times are different every day...Just the other night, we were eating dinner(poached eggs) at 8:00...I just try to figure out his tummy and when it might need something....And most of the time, he'll argue or give me that nasty look when I fix him a plate..I'm getting good at ignoring, lol....Just today, after we shopped, I asked if he'd like a pot pie from KFC and he said yes...Brought it home, fixed his plate and he said, I'm not eating that! but, there again, he blamed it on that "other lady" who bought it.....Next time I need to go to the roof, I'm staying up there, lol.....
Becca, it is a good feeling knowing someone is close by and be able to depend on...But, then I have neighbors who can't be beat, so I'm doubly blessed...I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who goes through windows, lol...But, with me, other than straining something in my leg or hip, it was fairly easy...Of course I can't gain any more weight or a certain part wouldn't fit and that would not be a pretty picture.....Hope your day is a good one, good day to be inside and do something fun.....
Chickie, Maybe I shouldn't ask but what will happen to Lint and Blackie when they get older? Hopefully, they'll be given the run of a pasture and be able to live the life of special cows....Tasha does sound like a very talented young lady...Hope she continues to follow her dream, whatever that might be...
Tina, my heavens, it's a wonder you can still walk...If I'm outside for an hour, I'm done for....You really do amaze me...So, I take it, the stone is gone...And hopefully, not to return, every!
As I said, yesterday was great...Along with little jobs, Terry and I talked about his new job, some of the demands his ex is making and lots of things in general...I was really interested in hearing about the new job but when he started telling me what all it involved, he really lost me...His company is with the defense department and what they do is helping to protect our service people who are over there serving...What little I understood really did sound great and made me very proud....And the ex seems to think she should be able to go though the house to see if she had left anything...He feels, she had had her chance several times and now, it's his (although he's mainly up here) and the boys residence and he told her if there's anything left when they sell, he'll either deliver it or put it in storage...
So now we start another week...Of course I thought this was May 1st already....We did some shopping, Walmart and Aldi and then stopped at the Library...And other than that, might not do a darn thing the rest of the day...When the sun disappears, so does my enthusiasm....Jim kind of knows, I'm a little upset with him so he'll probably take a nap....And as far as dinner, we have chicken pot pie from KFC and that's what will be on the table...And you know the old saying, "either eat it or you might wear it" might be in order, lol....I did get some fresh spinach so might make a nice big salad and also got some donuts for afters............
You all have a great day.......
Happy eating...............

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Monday, April 24th
Well I sure am late for dinner.
I start getting ready for work at 5:30 and leave the house at 6. And I hate texting or posting on my phone.
Becca, I love having the windows open. So nice to bring the o0utside in.
Jana, I don't even bother with a yard. We have fruit trees and Jerry will put in a small garden. but it just takes too much water to water much more than that. Even the trees we have left are the ones that survived the drought.
Tina, that Jaz is a cutie. Everytime I think of her I think of the time she cut her hair. She really has the best smile ever.
Chickie, glad to hear Tasha is doing well; It was really windy here too today. Funny your cows followed you to the house. my grandpa had a horse who knew how to turn a door knob and would let himself in.
O'Dorothy, Wasn't Terry a music teacher? Is Nicky one of his boys. If the ex is who I think it is then a big high five to Terry. How is Chris' wife doing. I think about her from time to time. And I check up on you too. I'm trying to behave, sometimes I think it's impossible with the crowd I run with. Jim keeps you on your toes.
Maryz, your flower garden is going to be gorgeous. and your dinner sounds wonderful.
Tonight was Marilyn's counseling session so I had taco bell. yuck. Tomorrow Jerry is making spaghetti with garlic bread.
My grandpa always said if you aren't feeling well you need garlic and onions. Spaghetti sauce has both.
hope you gals had a great supper.
Chriss
