SUPPER CLUB - Tuesday, March 21st
Did you hear? Spring has sprung, though you sure couldn't tell it here! We are chilly and rainy. 44* with a bite to it. Supposed to warm almost to 60* today but stay wet. My poor plants are getting beat up with the rain.
Yesterday evolved differently than I'd planned. We went to Elma, 80 miles away, to pick up a 40-yard roll of batting at the Warm Factory, had lunch at a BBQ place we've always wanted to try, and then stopped at our friends' in Oly. They had a big leather recliner they got at an estate sale that they decided didn't go with their decor and so wanted to get rid of it. Bill loved it the other night when we were there, so they gave it to him. We had the pick-up yesterday and since we had to go through Olympia anyway, brought it home. Now our old easy chair will go to our DGS's house, which is making HIM happy! I had time to make one 6-inch FGV block before we left for the day and I also got in 10 minutes of yard work. That was our entire day.
Today Bill wants to go to a movie because it's $6-day. He doesn't care what he sees, he just loves movies. I don't. But I guess I'll go today and we'll see Beauty and the Beast. I won't go when he's seeing violent movies though.
BECCA - sorry your walking buddy is moving. Maybe she'll find a place close by? I've been walking with my across-the-road neighbor, Lori, for about 10 years. We actually met while walking the trail near our houses. But before that, I used to listen to audio books on my MP3 player while I walked. Dogs are great walking buddies. Just putting that out there . . .
TINA - Maybe we ALL should have been born in Hawaii! lol! You know, I see 'dreadmills' all the time in thrift shops for not much money. Maybe that would be a better way for you to do your walking. Snakes!! egads!!
IRISH - I wish you and Jim lived next door to me - he could vacuum all he wanted! I'm not supposed to do it either, but I get tired of having to make a formal request when the carpets are obviously in need. But I do NOT mow. Bill uses the brush hog to mow, so it's not as nice as it was when he used the walk-behind, but I'm not complaining (not to him, anyway! ;o) )
CHICKIE - WOW! You have a whirlwind household right now! As long as little Lint's meals aren't delayed and she's getting all the cuddling she needs, then all is copacetic. HB to your DGS. 21! You have just the right length walk to go see Choc and Maggie. As long as the weather is do-able. And I LOVE your quilt shop in Edna. I have their license plate frame on my car. There is an LQS in Leavenworth, WA that is an old house and EVERY room is crammed full of fabric with notions and tools in the kitchen. Even the bathroom has bathroom-themed novelty fabrics on a shelf for you to peruse while sitting there! I love those kinds of shops.
JANA - I know there are big doin's going on at your house. When you get time, we're eager for a report!
Since we stopped for a heavy lunch yesterday we never grilled our burgers last night - just not hungry. Not sure about today - it's downright cold this morning, but supposed to be almost 60 by grilling time. I have frozen spinach/cheese raviolis for a back-up plan.
How about you? Got a plan yet?

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Tuesday, March 21st
Spring sprung here for two days of 80-plus temperatures. Yesterday was almost 90! Aaak! Today will be 67. Still on the weather rollercoaster. I heard one little thunder roll this morning, but we will be lucky to have some rain. There are fires everywhere. I’m so sorry for everyone in Western Kansas and Oklahoma. We used to have friends and family in the area that was evacuated.
Mary—you can park Bill in the recliner while you sew! I let DH go with his grandson and sons to the movies I don’t like. Needless to say, I don’t get to many movies. I have my license plate from Edna on my truck. There was a quilt shop in Rochester, MN in an old house that was crammed full and wonderful person who ran it. It was a block from our motel when I took my late DH to Mayo Clinic. I’d bring him back to sleep in the motel, and I’d walk to the LQS and relax and enjoy and spend a bit of cash. After all, these were my “vacation” trips—at least that’s what my time card at work said.
I’m not sure what dinner will be here… It’s a little early. I need to decorate the cookie and deliver it. We have Choc and Maggie and Ava to take care of today as well as Lint and the Hooligans. Sometime in there we will think about dinner. Tasha is my salad maker, so we’ll have salads if nothing else…
Bon appétit!

Good morning!
This is the big afternoon, the kids are signing their life away! LOL They sign the mortgage papers at 4 pm, my time. Kate's oldest sister is coming here to help her pack this morning. There are a few big hiccups with the walk through. Some of the electrical switches didnt work, so the electrician and superintendent were working late yesterday and started early today. We are praying that the city of Herriman gives the occupancy permit today. With out that permit, all is off until it all passes. So, they will paint tomorrow after the loan funds and they get the keys. Oh how the world can drag this all out. They are painting one wall in Gracie's room and a accent wall in the dining area.
Dinner is up in the air, not knowing who, what or when someone will be here for dinner. Last night was a quickie, i did buttermilk pancakes.
Mary - what fun to get to the factory for your batting. I have a half roll left to use from when i ordered a whole roll.
Chickie - good to have a helper for PL. She will be one spoiled, with love, little cow!
Time to head down to the cave. I finished two easter wall hangings, and they just need binding added. They were UFOS from a couple of years ago.
Enjoy!

Good afternoon from semi spring, semi warm, semi sunny, SW. Pa...I guess we're all alittle semi awake, also, lol....
Mary, I think, it does sound like a good day to go to the movies and then why not stop and eat out on the way home...Those burgers can wait...And, you mentioned spinach raviolis, yum! They served them at the St. Paddy's Day luncheon and I thought, other than the spinach being green, what was the Irish connection, but boy were they good.....
Chickie, I'm thinking maybe you could hand out your shingle as a animal rescuer or animal shelter or caregiver, I could go on and on.....You do it all, don't you? Enjoy your time with Tasha...
Our Priest came yesterday and it was a nice visit...I know I hadn't mentioned it but I had been a tad upset with our church, kind of feeling forgotten, maybe neglected and in talking to my friend Jackie, told her about my feelings...Well, Jackie isn't one to hold back and she must have marched herself into the church office and left them have it...I have a feeling now, we'll be getting calls and probably more visits...(sometimes that's good, lol).....
Mr. Sun has decided to come out and stay for a bit so I'm thinking, Jim needs to go for a ride...Not sure where we'll go but we'll find a road or 2 to explore...Years ago, I used to pick up my Mom at the nursing home and we'd just drive...She would often say, "Are we lost yet?"...Who would have thought, I'd be doing the same thing with Jim....
As for our dinner, who knows....I'm going to depend on the car to do the "right thing".....
You all have a great day.......
Happy eating......

Ugggh! I ordered off the internet from a well known company and now they have charged my credit card three times for the one order! Just spent time on the phone with customer service and hopefully all is straightened out now!
I have the binding totally done on my bunny wall hanging and the basket of eggs wall hanging is almost done.

OK, me again!
The kids are homeowners! The papers are signed, keys will be delivered tomorrow. Not without a few shenanigans by the builder. The builder was holding the occupancy permit and trying to say they didn't have it yet. But a few calls to sone higher ups by the escrow company and he found out they did have the permit, so he demanded it. So everything is signed!
I have never dealt with such a bunch of thieves. No better word for them! By delaying the closing, it could have cost a couple of thousand dollars more to extend the rate lock on the mortgage, and the Feds just raised the rates. I am a tad bit frustrated and a little angry, but i will be good!
Thanks for the vent space.
