SUPPER CLUB - Thursday, March 9th
Good Morning!
I think the rain is starting to let up some here and the temps are going up. In a few days we're to be almost 60*!! But we have a wind storm predicted for today that we have to get through. I was able to get the rest of the rhodies, lilacs, and forsythia fertilized yesterday afternoon. As I walked around the yard I see so much that needs to be done. But no sense trying to do anything until after the winds die down.
Our neighbor, Vicki, is still waging the property battle. She still has the lawn littered everything she can manage to tote out of her garage. And she sits outside, smoking, and stares at us. She just recently took up smoking. Not sure why. She also is still dumping rotten food. We lost Scottie yesterday for a while and searched all over for him. he was in the far corner of Vicki's yard gulping down whatever it is she is throwing out. Mice and rats are now coming for the buffet, too. hope our cats can keep up!
My Lone Star is finally ready, top and back, for the long arm. Now I just need to get the frame freed up. It is occupied at the moment.
BECCA - I see your twins are still hanging in there with mom. Good! Every hour counts! The smallest baby I took care of in the NICU was one pound, zero ounces at birth (at 24 weeks). And he lost 5 oz after birth! But he survived and did very well. Your babies are much older than that!
IRISH - guess between you and CHICKIE I won't be complaining about our 35 mph gusts of wind. But it's a big deal to me! Let us know how your sister does today. Wish you could be with her but I know you are needed right where you are. Hope the passport process goes quickly and smoothly for you. How is Jim in waiting rooms? Does he read much?
CAROLE with an e - we are always happy to have you at the table! I'm not sure what you are monitoring. It looks like part of your post got lost? But I'm glad you'll be done for the year, whatever it is! Hope your next week is calmer. I feel like if I have to go to the grocery store my day is shot! lol!
CHICKIE - I bet our friend would love to see photos of your sister's work. It sounds beautiful! Glad you were on scene to help the lady that fell at your meeting. Sorry about your dishtowel though. I'm sure there was no saving it after that! I used towels for a big gash in Bill's head one time. The towels didn't make it. What good luck about the goodies from the meeting! Now you are set for a while! Did you sew yesterday?
JANA - thanks for that recipe! It sounds great! I plan to try it right after my next grocery shopping trip. I make that white sauce with Dijon for a lot of things but never added the lemon juice before. I will try that. And I love snickerdoodle muffins! Wish one would have blown my way in that west wind we were imagining!
TINA - my mom had restless leg syndrome back in the days before it had a name or any meds. I hope yours is just a temporary thing. I have one last International Sue to stitch down and I should have them all finished unless more sign up at the last minute. Do you think you'll be hosting "ISBS Take 3" later in the year? If not, I may plan to gradually finish up the rest of the Sues on my own. I think there are 15 countries left.
CAROL - I know you're out there and probably too busy to stop by. But your place at the table is all set if you do!
Supper tonite - hmmmm.... I'd like to try Jana's recipe but don't have all the ingredients so that will have to wait. (but not for long!) Maybe pork chops and scalloped potatoes with asparagus. That sounds good to me, but will wait for Bill to give his stamp of approval before I start thawing anything.
What's on your menu for tonite?

Hello everyone, sunny & supposed to be hi 60s for 3 days. Taking a break from cleaning the bathrooms.
Maryz I don't even look in my yard bec there is SO much to do that no one here can do.
We had wind yesterday too but not like others have.I got my walk in.After all our errands & groceries.I told DH I hate buying groceries.Know I should be grateful we have food to buy.
On the neighbor if she has mental issues it's a lost cause to try to deal with her.Hope it improves very soon.
Irish Sure hope the passport goes thru without a hitch.I was thinking of you & your trip last nite.Hope you & Joim have a quiet day.
Tina Prayers to you that you had a better nites Rest.Taking care of little ones wears you down plus all your other responsibilities.Hugs for a good day.
Jana Your meal sounds good. And the muffins are great too,My BF brought us some.
Chickie Wow you won't have to make goodies for a while.Glad the lady was ok.Sorry about your chickens towel.
I have a chicken pie thawing & made my slaw early this morning. Will add beans too.Becca
The twins & Mom are waiting. They are both in position for birth now.Tiny but Mary tries to reassure me.I know they can do so much more now. Becca

Good morning! We had a little thunderstorm roll through. It didn’t last three minutes, and it’s once more sunny. Crazy Kansas weather!
Oh, Mary—poor Vicki! That’s just so sad, and so sad that nothing seems to be able to be done about it. She’s obviously sick. Hope your fur babies don’t get sick! The dump may also attract bigger pests…
Becca—I went through the early hospital stay with my DD for a week after my water broke. She was 6 weeks early and ended up weighing 3 lb. 14 oz. No technology then, no monitors… just laying and waiting. My room didn’t even have TV!
Irish—best wishes for your sister!
I only got a bit of time in my sewing room yesterday… lots of patches thrown up on the design wall. I had some more ideas of how to put it all together while I was trying to sleep last night. I only have Ava to take care of today. Had an extra trip to Levi’s yesterday, so that pulled some time away from my sewing.
Jana—I made Kathy’s muffins… too good!!! How did the girls do? Thanks for the lemon trick!
The loss of my towel didn't bother me. I was glad to have something soft and clean to offer besides scratchy paper towels.
Dinner… I have some burger thawing… it may be burgers, or something else. I also have some blackberries thawing and think I’ll put together a cobbler for DH. I have loads of veggies, and I’m loving them for eating and snacking. I had a loaded omelet yesterday for brunch.
Bon appétit!

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Thursday, March 9th
Good afternoon from a very sunny and warm, SW. Pa...BUT, the bottom is to drop out and boy are we going to get hit this weekend....AND of course this is the weekend for the St. Patrick's Day parade in Pittsburgh and it's only supposed to be about 14 degrees at start time....But, this seems to happen every year..Jim always marched with the AOL group and 1 year there was about 3 feet of snow..And the girls always danced and knew how to layer under their costumes....But, you know the Irish when it comes to celebrating, what's a little cold weather and snow!
Mary, feel so sorry for your neighbor, Vicki, she really doesn't know what she's doing...AND there has to be something or someone that can help...Do you have a Board of Health or any kind of Sr. Advocate group? I'd really be worried about the fur kids..Such a shame...And I've seen different ones comment on your quilt, where did you post it or are they talking about another one? I need to know!
AND as far as my sister, they cancelled at the last minute! She was a bit upset, said it was a waste of her time cleaning and doing all that laundry, lol But, the reason, she has a short neck and having that sleep problem and being on her stomach, and the vents being pretty much 1 size, in case they had to use one, there would be a big problem, so they are scheduling her at the hospital instead of the "Med 1st" center...Didn't I mention, she's a problem, lol....So, she said, chuck it all today, she was going to Bingo!
Becca, each day will make a big difference in those babies but I can imagine how tired Momma must be...All us "Grams" are pacing and praying....And, I'm with you and looking at the yard, yikes...
Jana, I keep saying, one of these days, if the wind doesn't blow me out that way, I'm hoping a plane and do some visiting...That is on my "bucket list" for sure...I hope your girls understand what all you are doing for them....So many young ladies haven't a clue...You are indeed special....
Chickie, when the wind or that plane comes that way, I'll be knocking on your door also (and I will make sure my shoes are clean, lol)...I do have visions of this big reunion and what fun.....I imagine you're in heaven with a frig full of veggies. My kind of eating.....And then to top it off with a cobbler, Wow!
Well, my day is kind of boring, so far..So far, I've made the bed, hard boiled eggs and fixed a screen that Baby Girl keeps pushing out. (this time I used gorilla glue)...Yesterday's adventure was pretty good..Pass post is in the works with no problem and the gal at this PO was an angel..We ended up talking about her DFIL who is ailing as Jim and I promised to call and give her names/numbers of those who can help...We were in and out in about 15 20 minutes so Jim was pretty good...The day was so nice, we then went for a long ride and than back to the Library to pick up reserved books..At one time, Jim did read a lot but can't concentrate...Even watching TV, he has a hard time...But, he does like to vacuum, so we do have clean carpets....
Mary got me into cleaning closets so that's on my schedule for this afternoon....Other than that, zippo....
As for dinner, I'm thinking egg salad sandwiches and soup....I had hidden some Girl Scout cookies in the freezer so Jim will be happy with his afters............
Happy eating..................

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Thursday, March 9th
Good afternoon!
I have some pork steaks to fix tonight with whatever else i have here.
The kids finally got a firm date for closing and when they get the keys. It has been moved off to a week later. They will sign the papers on the 21st and get the key on the 22nd. The builder will have the occupancy certificate then. The builders reason is that the weather has delayed everything. The days the builder stated snow problems, we didn't have any! Just can't keep their fibs straight!
Scrubbed the master bath and straightened the closet- see what you started Mary! LOL i already donated a ton of clothes awhile back, so it was easy. Michael added another shelf in there for me a few months ago, so i have plenty of storage in there.
Time to feed my little termite,
Enjoy,
Jana
