Supper club. Thursday feb 8

Post by purrfect-lady » Thu Feb 09, 2017 2:13 am

Hello from Lake Mead. Beautiful weather here. Probably our last for a while. starting for home today. Terry will stay with us for about 40 more miles to her DDs house. And we will keep scooting north towards Tonapah, NV I'm guessing home by Monday. If weather cooperates. And my driver.

Becca, we just passed my dad's 105th birthday, too. The same day as Autumn's, Jan 10. And he also died in 1994.

Velda. Was your new waltz lesson just how to do the waltz step or was it a patterned or choreographed waltz? Do you know how to do the waltz line dance? Very pretty. Our dance team re-choreographed that into a couples waltz line dance and performed it in our shows. The waltz step, for some reason, is very hard for some men to learn.

Irish- hope today is a better day for you. Did you get to sew??

Chickie, too bad you couldn't meet The Eagle Family! Were you on Ft Myers? That is where my DDIL was raised.

Tina did your package ever get picked up? What are sticky buns? Really. Cinnamon rolls? And why would you want to give food that is sticky by design, to toddlers who can make sticky food out of green beans?

I'm never certain about supper on the road. But right now I'm thinking spinach raviolis. And garlic creamy sauce. No Parmesan cheese but I do have mozzarella. And salad veggies to eat up.

What are you going to eat up tonite?

Good morning! I didn’t make it here yesterday. I tried. My internet was running slower than molasses outside in January, and I gave up. Then we were out on an adventure—road trip! DH wanted to pick up a gun he had left outside of Quapaw, OK, at a shop to be repaired and made into a pretty “wall hanger”—it was one that had burned up in the fire and couldn’t be fired, but it meant a lot to him, so he basically did some preservation work for a wall art piece. The Hooligans and I piled in the car, and I was navigator. On the return trip, we made some little side trips and saw some small towns we’d never seen. It was a fun afternoon. While at the gun shop, DH bought another gun as an art piece. I came home and ordered a new vacuum cleaner and felt absolutely no guilt! We had a water department annual meeting last evening, so dinner before we went was just some grilled ham and cheese sandwiches. They served dessert.

Today I’m going in to visit mom and pick up some groceries. I also have all the grand and great grand dogs to see. Right now, Boomer is up on my lap wanting some doggy love.

Mary—Terry has had quite a lesson… so sorry she’s going through all of this. She’s very brave to soldier on with RVing on her own!

Ages ago, we did line dancing on lunch hour for an exercise class. I had such fun, but I’m such a klutz and I could never remember all the dances. My favorite was the waltz to several of Terry Lawrence’s songs… I think that was his name. I’ve got two left feet when it comes to dance aerobics and line dancing, but I have a good time.

Yes, Irish and Mary, we were in Ft. Myers and stayed in Estero where they live. I’m so sorry I missed the eagles. I thought I saw one, so maybe I did… Next time we’ll all go on a girlie trip!!!

We are about 10 degrees warmer today—into the upper 40s. Yesterday was chilly and blustery, so a road trip was nice. Dinner tonight… that lovely pink crustacean from the gulf. I’ll figure out something to go with it later…

Bon appétit!

Good afternoon from a "Winter Wonderland" and I'm not kidding....It is absolutely gorgeous but I'm still not going out and doing snow angels, not this old gal......By the weekend, it will all be gone and we'll be in the 50s......

Mary, Had to laugh about the sticky buns...Well, my sticky buns are very sticky, filled with cinnamon and lots of raisins...I usually have a wet paper towel close by when I get the urge to have a bite or 2....And I've never had the chance to put any icing on them, don't need it.....Home again, soon....I'm usually not too happy about ending a vacation...Heck, when you're darn nearly waited on hand and foot, shown all the sites and treated to great food, (not to mention, no uglies) who wants to come home, lol....But, you do really have lots and lots of good memories, don't you.....

Chickie, you were south of where I usually go..Did you fly in and out of RSW? ...I have another friend who has a place in Naples which is further south..But, I'd take any part of Florida, especially this time of year....Maybe we can talk Mary into bringing the camper, I know a great park where we can stay......Oh boy the fun! Your road trip from yesterday sounded like fun....I miss the days when Jim and I would jump in the car and just go......Enjoy your dinner, yummy.......

Becca, Sometimes it's a good thing not to have too much excitement, lol....I'm always happy for a calm day...Maybe I should say, I'm just happy for another day, period, lol....

There's sure not much excitement going on in this household....I did have the "tub man" come this afternoon and tell me about the step in tub, which, is great...BUT, do we want to eat or do we want to feel good and be clean...Holy Crap, this one was as much as a car....So, needless to say, I didn't sign on the dotted line...
And, now to work of more frustration, I'm headed for the sewing room...Had more sleep last night so today really is a much better day...

For our dinner, I'm thinking hot ham and cheese sandwiches and left over veggie soup....Easy peazie.......

Happy eating..............................

Hi friends, late again to table, sorry.
We had dance class in AM, then trip to Walmart, then cooking most of the afternoon. BBQ's, Tators salad, and peaches and fresh chocolate chip cookies for dessert.
Hugs,. Vel
Maryz, sent you a PM about dancing.
HUGS, 💕 Vel
