Take a walk with me in the book of Psalm
I have started to study in this book. The word Psalms in Hebrew means "Praise". The English title of the book is from the Greek translation which means "songs of praise". Some have referred to Psalms as Israel's hymnbook. More than one-third of the collection is actually made up of prayers to God; so really it is hymns and prayers that were used in the context of Israel's worship.
The first book of Psalm is Chapters 1-41. Chapter one is titled Blessing on the Godly in my Bible. Blessed expresses the sense of happiness, joy, and satisfaction in one's state or circumstances. It often is the result of blessing that comes from trust in God Jehovah.
Psalms use a lot of imagery: The tree is a metaphor for the righteous and the Chaff an image of the ungodly. The fruit on the tree is the good Spiritual growth in the Godly.
The final summary in verse 6 shows what is anticipated for those who follow the two ways: god's protection for the righteous and disaster for the ungodly.
Which path is yours?
Hugs prayers and God bless
