SUPPER CLUB - Tuesday, Jan 24th

Post by purrfect-lady » Tue Jan 24, 2017 12:10 am

Good Morning!

Sounds like we have wind again this morning! I thought we were done with that! Hope it dies down when it gets light. Today I'm going to the LQS. Just because my machine and other tools and fabrics are all packed away doesn't mean I can't still shop! ;o) There is a beautiful line of Texas-themed fabric and I want to buy some to take home. Our next door friends have been so good and helpful to us that I want to make them a Lone Star quilt for their bed. I did check to make sure they want one. You never give a 'thing' to anyone who lives full time in an RV unless you know they really want the 'thing'. No place to put too many 'things'!

CHICKIE - oh, poor you - truly allergic to housework! Maybe Texas' cedar pollen is blowing all the way to Kansas! You know, you're right - all the things I put into my pasta last nigh (and the night before) always go on the top of my pizzas! For pizza, I often make a whole wheat crust, too, and use the turkey pepperoni and olive oil. We LOVE lots of red sauce and veggies, too.

BECCA - well, I'm glad SOMEONE was happy with the football wins! Sure wasn't me! Now I'm bummed. I have no skin at all in the Super Bowl this year.

IRISH - I bet that Jake's got a sugar mama on the side for sure! But he's not quite ready to cut his lifeline to you, just in case S.M. doesn't work out! lol!

JANA - glad you got the dental appt behind you! I fear I have some interesting times in the chair when I get home. I think I broke a dental root. This happened once before to me ten years ago. It had to be removed. Unfortunately, it was the anchor tooth for my $3000 bridge which had to also be removed. Now I have two implants in place of the bridge. So I hope it's nothing gone awry with those as they are in the same vicinity as whatever is going on in my jaw.

GQ - BBQ sandwiches sounded great with yesterday's weather!

Tonite - I'm not sure. But it might be that pizza CHICKIE was talking about yesterday. Most RV ovens have a tendency to burn things on the bottom and leave the top underdone, but I guess I should see if this new oven is better than the old one. So OK - homemade pizza it is! It will be a fun experiment.

What's YOUR plan?

Good morning Mary,

It is a cool 41 degrees here in AZ brrrr. But not suppose to rain today, and the sun should be out and shining. Let's hope anyway.

Today we will be having vegetable lasagna and garlic bread for DH. This is a dish I made for my nephew when he came in October to visit. He is a vegetarian. So I had froze the left overs. So just heating it up today. No really cooking for me today. Boy I have been getting away easy the past few days. No complaining here,

Today is getting together with my small bee. Always love being with them. Now to find some hand work to take. Don't feel like dragging my machine today.

Hope everyone has a simply wonderful day.

Carole with an e

Hello,We are 44 here but sun is out & warming us up.

Chickie Sounds like you are allergic to dust.Vacuming really stirs it up.Wear a mask that helps or better yet get DH to do it.The chemicals in the cleaners drive me wild.I watch the ones I buy for odors.

Maryz Sure hope the tooth isn't as bad as you think. But the DDS don't charge small fees.UGH.I think they are worse than Drs for over charging & they only Wrk 4 days a wk.I really miss our old DDS.He didn't operate that way.All the young ones are the same it seems.Have to pay off their college loans then get set up in practice.sorry I got on a sore subject.
Know you'll enjoy your visit with Tina.

Tina Hope your days are going smoother & you feel better.

Irish You & your fur friends keep you busy along with your ones at Home.Sounds as though Jake does have another Home.Hope you & Jim have a good day.
DH isn't doing good.He has had 2 mini strokes in the last few days. His days are a struggle but we carry on same as you & Jim.

It's still spaghetti left but I'll see what DH wants.Nothing sounds good to me.Sinuses acting up.Will be glad when warm weather returns. Becca

Good morning! We are going for the mid-60s today, but WINDY, WINDY, WINDY. Tomorrow will be in the 40s, so the Hooligans and I will walk down to visit Ava today. We also go see Choc and Maggie and will walk over there as well.

Yesterday I drove my truck to Joplin as I didn’t want to drive her car or the rental (insurance coverage???). Got to Joplin, and smoke was rolling from under the bottom… I had no oil, engine or heat gauge lights on. Oil and fluids were good. CRAZY!!! Drove home and everything was “normal”. Isn’t that bizarre! It may go in the shop. Seems like every February it needs about $1,000 in “work”. I know it’s a 2000, but it’s still low miles at 105,000, and I plan to drive it forever. I like how it sits up higher but is still a small truck—perfect for the Hooligans and me.

Mary—You should have Bill grill the pizza… just sayin’… They do it all the time on TV, and it always looks so good. Good luck with your teeth… more implants???

Becca—thanks for the mask advice. I might look into it. These wood floors sure attract all the dirt and dust. I’d do carpets, but all I would think about is all that grit getting ground into the carpets… more allergies! I really HATE housework!!! DH has helped a couple of times in the past… wouldn’t it be great if he did it all the time! Not going to happen! He’s of the older generation—no cooking, no cleaning, no dishes, no diapers… His diaper record is intact… NONE.

Carole—I like to freeze lasagna, too. Veggie works great for me (not so for DH). I did gluten-free at Christmas, and everyone raved over it. We have a couple of family members who go gluten free. Enjoy your bee! I’d love a small group to sit and sew—much like my friend and I at noon and before work with our projects… we did cross-stitch, crochet and quilting over the years. It was 10 “free” hours of handwork time a week!

Dinner tonight… not enough pizza for DH, so I might thaw some beef and make burgers for him. I still have pizza, and it just gets yummier.

Irish—the Hooligans alert me to the UPS guy, so I usually go out and greet him and get my parcel. He’s quick, too. They are on a mission to get finished in their allotted time.

I’m hoping to cut some wedges for the sew along Tina and I are doing. I’m so far behind. Need to get plodding along on it. With the nice day today, I’m sure I won’t get as much done as I would like to do.

Bon appétit!

Mary--P.S. What quilt shop will you be going to? The Texas fabrics will make a beautiful Lone Star! Lots of potential for "sparkle" there! I know your friends will love it, and it will be a prized possession, plus they will always think of you!

Good morning :)
I tried getting iv yesterday and actually did read some a couple times but I was vacuuming, mopping, dusting and cooking. .. it was Frankie's birthday. .. we didn't have any company but it was nice, it was my gift to him. .. clean house LOL steak, baked sweet potato, salad and pecan pie :)
I had to re mop this morning because Holly let Easton wear muddy shoes in, ugh!
My legs feel better today than they have been these last few days.
Our weather is supposed to be better this week and weekend they say :) I special ordered it just for Mary and Bill :)
Becca, sorry about your DH's mini strokes. .. isn't there something they can do? I saw a commercial about a Dr that kept having them and they did some kind of procedure and he's all better and no more mini strokes.
Carole, have fun at your bee :)
Chickie, I didn't get any sewing at all done yesterday either. .. I'm hoping tonight I can at least get my Dresden Plate petal things sewn with their point so they'll be ready to turn and iron :)
I have to run to town after the boys go home to get a few things and milk is the most important. .. the boys love their milk :)
I'm making chicken tonight and salad and veggie.
Tina
