SUPPER CLUB - wed dec 7
Good morning from my phone, which is in Yuma, Arizona. We are parked in yet another casino parking lot. They offer a breakfast for $2.99, of which the DS says we shall partake. Guess this means I will have to comb my hair this morning.
Weather is nice here-about 73° yesterday. Much of the lettuce found is stores around the country is grown in Yuma, as well as dates. Yesterday we visited friends here and today will move on towards Tucson.
Irish, yes I do keep a journal when we travel. Though not quite as Flowery as you might imagine. Maybe you should call a grand kid or hire a teenager to come hang those decorations for you. Or maybe a wreath will work just as well. Though I believe Christmas will come even if the decorations aren't out. One year I didn't put out much of anything and cleanup after the holidays was a breeze!
Chickie, I understand Barkapaloozas. We have an owl that lives in the tall trees outside our bedroom window at home. Scottie does not like owls hooting in the night so I am sure you can imagine what goes on at our house at 2 AM sometimes
Becca, I hope your tooth is much better now. As for shopping for babies-I always found them the very easiest-a bright colored toy and a new outfit. It's the teenagers that stump me.
Carol, great window washing tip only I have no steam mop. I have just recently moved up to a swiffer mop.
Tina - I know you have been busy-how is mom? Are you doing much sewing for Christmas? I am doing none-obviously. Happy birthday eve! Let the celebrations begin!!
we grilled chicken two nights ago and have left over, so that will go into Rice-A-Roni tonight and we will add some peas to it for a one dish meal. And probably a salad on the side. Maybe it will even be nice enough to sit out at our picnic table when we get to camp. Happy dining, y'all !

Good morning!
I certainly can understand Scottie… wonder if they don’t hear the owls and/or the coyotes and they set off the frenzied cacophony. Yes, 2 a.m. is one of the times… also 1:30, 3 a.m., 4:30 a.m., 5:30 a.m. Some nights are worse than others. I think they were quiet last night or I was too tired to care.
Yesterday was a project completion, so today I’ll take to town and show it off, then in the mail tomorrow. I have a few things to pick up in town as well.
Shopping for teenagers—the local bank. The color’s right and it always fits. So far, we’ve had absolutely no complaints. The adults like our selection of merchant as well.
Irish—you turned me on to greater appreciation for the UPS man…
Dinner tonight… leftovers wiped out, so into the freezer… Mary won’t like the selection, but I’m excited! We have a 4-letter word in the forecast this afternoon. Hopefully no accumulation…
Bon appétit!

I am finally here! We will arrive this afternoon at our DD. She has told me that to it we will have lasagna and salad. She makes the best lasagna ever. Have to get her recipe.
We are in sunny Alabama. It has been a long journey but this time (so far) there have been no mishaps. LUke is such a wonderful traveler.he is no trouble at all.
Well better run before my connection gets turned off.

Good morning
Thank you Mary
Mom is home but so far I haven't been able to talk to Dad away from her to get what is actually going on. When she was sent home from the hospital she still couldn't walk. That quilt shop sounds cool
I've seen a picture of that Skelton on the internet somewhere.
Carole, I love lasagna! Glad you're having uneventful travels
Chickie, ugh that was my wake-up schedule last night and I went to bed at midnight but couldn't fall asleep until after 1 sometime, ugh and I didn't have any fur kids waking me. ... just one of those nights.
I'm going to look for pork chops in the freezer for supper
I'm really looking forward to Mary and Bill getting here!
Tina

Thank you Mary

Good early afternoon from a sunny, but very chilly, SW. Pa...Today's high is to be 42, I don't even like the lows to be that low! But, we have sun and blue skies.......
Mary, so good to see you at the table..Hey, for a $2.99 breakfast, I might even put on shoes....I imagine your journal would still be good reading...Years ago, my friend in Florida had post cards on 1 of the walls in the spare room until she ran out of space...Then she put up a map and used push pins and that soon got covered as well...I loved standing in that room and looking at her travels...She's the one, who took no main roads in their trips to Pa..It might take them 2 months to get here but she sure did see the sights....Kathy has inherited my love of travel and she and DH are always on the go...She sure got lucky when she met this fellow, a dream come true.....
Carole (with an e), glad to hear you had a good trip cross country...And lasagna, what could be better...My DDIL make good lasagna and I always ask for a doggie bag...Of course her maiden name was Italiano so it came naturally...What part of Florida are you headed to? Florida is a very long state especially is you're going very far down....Is Luke ready for all the spoiling he's going to be getting....He might not want to come back home, lol.....Safe travels....
Chickie, we don't have dogs but we have 1 very impatient cat who thinks she needs to be cared for in the middle of the night, NO MATTER WHAT! And heaven forbid I should be laying on my side, she wants me on my back and she HAS to be almost wrapped around my neck....Could we get any closer???? Oh well, who needs sleep.....
Glad you "see" your UPS man in a different way now, only too happy to be of service....And, that 4-letter word can just stay far, far away from this neck of the woods.....Enjoy your dinner......
Becca, thinking of you and hoping all is OK...Hoping that tooth is feeling better and better...Also hoping you and DH have a good day....
Jim got up this morning and actually said, he wanted to go out to eat....I think he must have been dreaming because he never "wants to go out" to eat, lol...But, I have him convinced to wait until tomorrow and we'll go any where he wants to go...But, I'm hoping it's in the direction of a JoAnn's.....Today is finding the decorations in the shed (I hope) but of course that doesn't mean I'm going to put them up....Don't want to over do, lol...And I do want to get some more sewing done....I keep working on "the quilt" but I also got a couple of panels and want to make them into attic window wall hangings....So, get off the computer and get something done, right????
As for dinner, haven't given it much thought...Do have some candied sweet potatoes left so maybe I'll make some chicken patties and a salad....Jim is eating much better, as long as I don't fill up his plate too full...There are times when he does give me "the look" and I just say, eat it, it's good for you......
Happy eating..................

Good afternoon!
This will be short, i am not feeling well with this tooth. My dinner will be soup and Kate will be the chief cook and bottle washer for awhile.
I go back on the 20th to have it repaired.
Enjoy,
Jana

I've forgotten the number of produce trucks leaving Yuma every DAY, but it's several thousand! Huge fields of cauliflower, broccoli.
I use cloth diapers for cleaning glass and windows. Best ever. Our SIL is the window washer at their house and he takes it seriously. I gave him one to try and he was amazed! Bought his own ! Our hardware store sells an aerosol glass cleaner in a blue and white can, foamy and much better than liquid! I think.
