SUPPER CLUB - Wed, Nov 30th

Post by purrfect-lady » Wed Nov 30, 2016 2:22 am

Good Wet Morning!

I sure wish we could send this rain to Tennessee! What an awful crime arson is.

IRISH - I can't believe the coincidence - choosing eagle fabric for the back of Jim's QOV quilt and he was a Screaming Eagle! Double hugs for him! (and Kitty, of course!)

JANA - so was your man soothed with your homemade noodles? I love them myself. I like the heavier texture. Like you, I just roll them out. My mom always dried them and stored them in containers on the shelf. My sis made them and put them into nice see-through containers and gave then as Christmas gifts one year. Sounds almost like Santa's toy shop down in your Batt Cave!

BECCA - you are right - being in constant pain can really eat away at a person's positive outlook. When our friends, Warren and Lois, were both so sick and it was a daily struggle for their DD, her husband began a little 'game' with her: every night at the dinner table he would ask her to name five good or positive things that happened that day. It gave her some perspective. I try to remember that 'game' when the valleys get too deep.

As an off-topic aside: Warren & Lois's son-in-law is a gr gr nephew of William Bonney, aka Billy the Kid. And he is also our financial consultant! Talk about putting the fox in the henhouse! But so far, he's a great guy and seems to have left the 'family business' in the dust. And TINA, I think Billy the Kid is buried not far from you, isn't he?

SHERRY - so nice to see you pulling up a chair with us! sounds like a lot of us have had fridge clean-out days this week!

CHICKIE - I wonder how Doyal would feel about tacos if they didn't have the seasoning on them. Would the 'look' of Mexican still get to him? No, you, and the other girls who who have stayed and lovingly cared for your mates ARE saints! Or angels at the very least. My LDH#2's ex-wife walked out on him when he got his diagnosis of cardiomyopathy. Seems she signed up for only the "better" in the 'better or worse' vow. I felt so blessed to have him for the last 3 yrs of his life.

CAROL - Thank you! I WILL definitely enjoy my massage. My sister got one while she was here and felt so much better for it. She has been having a lot of sciatica problems lately. The only pass we have to worry about will be in the Siskyous. The nice thing about an RV is you can simply hunker down in a rest area or a Walmart parking lot if necessary and wait until the highway is cleared.

TINA - we'll soon be on our way. Make room!!

We had Chinese last night for dinner. Terry and Bill said they liked it. I normally like the dishes that we had - Sweet & sour chicken, Mandarin beef, garlic chicken, and sizzling rice soup. But I didn't like them at that restaurant. The chicken had an odd taste, like it had freezer burn. Oh well. The place had a pretty name - The Panda Garden.

Today, after my massage - ahhhhhh . . . . I plan to do the last of the laundry, run the dishwasher, sweep, nag Bill to vacuum, and make a few December lotto blocks. This month is all about wintry blues and showy whites. And hey! I won the November lotto! Cool!!

We were going to leave this morning but we have these few things to finish and the weather is too nasty to be on the road today. So early tomorrow morning - we'll be gone. Not sure how internet will be on the road. Bill, being a computer geek, is usually on top of that but he operates on a need-to-know basis and so when he thinks I need to know, he'll tell me! So don't wait supper for me! I will check in when I can. As for our supper tonite - I really have no clue! Maybe I'll make spaghetti and meatballs. I have sauce and meatballs in the freezer and it will make enough for leftovers to reheat our first night on the road. and it will clear a bit out of the freezer.

Good morning!

Not inly did i make Michael happy, little Baden had his first tadtevof noodles. He is now 10 months old and Crenda was feeding him last night and the little guy had a hig smile for Grandma and was smacking his lips after each bite. He loved them. So did Gravue, nshe ate two bowls full.

Good news from Stu's doctor's visit. No surgery needed. The hand has healed and this doctor can't figure out what is wrong with the doctor in California! Stu us out of the brace and is to use his hand. It will be sore and painful, but the more he uses it, the more funtion he will regain. At the end of therapy, he will have full use. A slight deformation in the alignment of the knuckles on that hand, but that is it. What a answer to the many prayers. Thank you for yours!

Dinner, something simple, as Kate food poisoned herself and is just now recovering.

Mary - be safe - what is hitting you now, will get me tomorrow and we already received a foot here. The passes were treacherous- Kate's parents were stopped on I 15 coming back from St George for several hours due to snow.

Becca - wish i could share the snow here with you. Prayers for those involved in the fire situation. Daniel is of the opinion that when the arsonist is caught the courtroom, should be held in the middle of the destruction where the jury can see!

Enjoy,
Jana

Good Morning Everyone!
Becca - I am shocked someone could believe it is okay to start a fire. A couple of years ago a man who had a grudge against the Elk Lodge here, burned it down. I had never been there, but have heard it was beautiful. It was up on a bluff and must have had spectacular views of the harbor. They still haven't rebuilt.

Maryz - It is 7:55 so I know you are on your way to having a massage. I need to clean house too. Think you are motivating me!

Jana - As I said, those noodles sound good.

Mary don't read this next part.

We are having mac n'cheese tonight with rice. I have been craving it. With all the problems I have had lately, if I want something I try to eat it.

As I said, I am going to try to clean house today too. The urologist called me last night to tell me to call his office and make an appointment that is a week before surgery. Did I tell you he is a great & caring doctor, but I am not happy with his office staff.

Have a great day today everyone!
Carol

Good afternoon from a very dreary, damp, rainy, SW. Pa...Boy, I wish I could send a bunch of this rain down south......I just can't believe how someone could actually start a fire like this and then enjoy it, sick, sick, sick! And so many times, it's a volunteer fireman or a person who wants to be a fireman....Weird.....

Oh Mary, I can imagine by now, you are feeling super...I would love to find someone around here that gave a good massage (not the ones in the back alley, lol).....Both, Kathy and her DH have regular appointments and just love it.....I hope you take pictures when you get on the way and especially when you get to Tina's...You know, I live through your trips...Will be thinking of you and Bill and saying prayers for a safe, safe trip.....
I think there are a lot of people who don't read the "fine" print on that wedding license or when something does happen, find a way to put them in a home and "get rid of the problem"....I think, years ago, when we were married,we all had visions of a long, happy, healthy life but sometimes those roads have been a bit rough and you learn to deal with it...There are times, I'd rather be out to lunch or maybe at JoAnn's (lol) but then I just have to look at Jim sitting in his recliner or beside me at night and I know where I belong......

Carol, I'm sure Mary will give you dispensation for that "mac n cheese"...But, as Mary said, she might not have service and maybe we can sneak in a banned meal or 2, SHHHH....I'm right with you with Mary be a good motivator, she gets me going, which is what I should be doing now......

Becca, Hope your day is good....We did our haircuts last week, good for another 6 weeks, I hope....Hopefully the only errand we have to do is take care of Dan's fur kids this afternoon....Now there's an errand with lots and lots of purrs and kisses....Have to laugh at Dan, the only text messages he sends are "How's the babies?", not having a good time etc.

Chickie, We all know you're a happy person, can feel it in your writing....Funny about your SIL just kind of making herself at home..But, every family has one! In our family, "that person" has been divorced.....

Jana, what great news about Stu's hand...Wow, what a relief...Sometimes you just wonder about a few of those doctors...Same thing happened to Terry's hand, no break and then they found 2, duh! Would love to have seen that little one eating noodles, bet it was priceless.....

Well, still working on the dining room windows but I am determined to win! Of course in the process, it's cleaning out the desk, going through junk in the drawers and spending too much time looking at that junk! I got a fabric order yesterday and am chomping at the bits to get working on that project BUT, clean up 1st, darn.....

And then we come to dinner???With the nasty weather, it could be soup and sandwich or just maybe a scrambler....We certainly won't go hungry....

Happy eating..........

Eagle Update:
The Florida eagles are being very mysterious...Last week, the male, M15, buried the 1st egg and everyone thought there must be something wrong..Then Harriet layed the 2nd egg and started incubating in earnest...Well, didn't she did up the 1st egg and roll it right beside the new egg...If her digging up the egg hadn't been caught on camera, it would have looked like she had the 3rd egg...So, we don't know if M15 buried the egg to delay incubation (as they sometimes do) or if for sure there might be something wrong but Harriet doesn't want to give it up.....And so the saga continues.....

(And this could be why I'm not getting my dining room finished)
