SUPPER CLUB - Sun, Nov 13th
Good Morning!
No rain today, but we are damp and will have more wind rain this afternoon. But that's OK. We'll have football to watch. Broncos for my BIL at 10:00 and Hawks for us at 5:30. We'll visit Jim in between games. He sleeps all the time now, being given a med that relaxes him. He was getting very restless and agitated. so visits are mainly being quiet and working on the current jigsaw puzzle.
Yesterday was bliss! I sewed about 6 hours!! Finished my Flo Flo cat wall hanging for my sis's birthday. Even got the label on. Finished a bunch of ornaments I'd been working on, and got started sewing a Tennessee Waltz quilt I'd cut out last August to take south with me this winter. Since we didn't go, I got that project out. So good to sew an actual quilt blocks again!!
IRISH - glad you got a day off and had such a good time. That is so nice that you are getting a respite day now and then. Those days are so important. My SIL has refused any help of that sort EVER (we have offered many times!) and now she is so fried that she will hardly talk to anyone. and her anger level is off the charts. Loving the eagle updates. I'm growing quite attached to 'our' eagles! Still miss Ozzie. But excited about the new man in H's life!
JANA - what's the word on Stu? And I'd want to be talking to whoever made the decision - and stuck to it for so long - to not get his hand taken care of before now. He may always have trouble with that hand now.
CHICKIE - hope your week is just that - nice and quiet. Filled with thread pieces all over your clothes!
BECCA - I was just 'talking' to you over in Sew-in! Not much has happened between then and now. ;o)
I hope to get in a bit of sewing today, but we'll see how the day goes. It's kind of odd - having my sis and BIL here 24 hours a day. They are sort of half-guests, half living with us. And they will be here through Thanksgiving at least and as long past that as necessary.
Supper? Hmmm... Maybe enchilada or chili relleno casserole.
What's the story in your kitchen?

Hello everyone,Overcast cloudy & rain is close but none here. Its moving away from us toward Coast. We still aren't due any for 11/2 wk.Fires still going & more being set all over NC.Really sad to think people are that sick.
Maryz Your DSIL is going thru a very tough time as you know.Anger is a step in the grieving process. She will have emotions she can't explain. My prayers are with all of you.My DB isn't responding to his treatments My DB said.Too wide spread .On the tooth Its a million dollar question. This Smoke has my sinuses all messed up & this tooth is in sinuses.DDS said everything looked fine.I wish I knew what it is.I may have it cut out & still have the pain.Just living with it as long as possible.Doesnt look like new crown was the answer.
You got a lot accomplished yesterday.I feel for you if DS will not help inKitchen. That gets old fast.
Irish Hope the day goes well for you & Jim.So happy you got help & the outing.A change really helps.
Chickie What a fabulous day & nite you had.SO happy for you.Enjoy your wk of no cooking.Glad DD &DGD got to come & celebrate with you.
Carol Still taking care I hope.
Jana Prayers for Stu & his surgery.Hope it's not too late to treat it.
Tina Hope your day is good & you get some rest.
Chili here.Had it frozen from before. And I have apple fritter bread. We love it.Thanks Chickie for mentioning it. Becca

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Sun, Nov 13th
Good early afternoon from a very, very sunny but very chilly, SW. Pa....It really is a gorgeous day, if you're inside looking out.....
Mary, Boy, sounds like you had a good, productive day....One of these days, I'm going to try it, lol.....I imagine it could get interesting having someone "living" with you even if it is family....Not sure I'd want my sister and Dh staying here....(She's a neat freak and wouldn't do well in my house)....I can almost understand what your DSIL is going through, almost....I would rather take care of my Jim myself which isn't nearly as much as she is doing but, there comes a time, when you really do have to accept help....I'm just thankful I can have someone come in and stay for a few hours...It's going to be hard on her, later....I was hoping there would be something to give DB some relief from his pain...You know we're all sending big hugs.....
Becca, Yikes, the fire, the tooth pain, the heartache about your DB and now dreary weather....Wish I could send you some sun....Now that's a switch isn't it? It's usually me asking people in the south to send sun and warm temps.....But, here's praying all the nasty stuff will be taken care of...Hope your day is peaceful.....
Chickie, I'll have to go back to ChitChat and read about your party day....Sounds like you had a good one.....
Hopefully, for us, this will be a quiet day...Jim did insist on going out and sweeping the leaves off the back patio and now he's resting....He has a new "thing", obsession with eye glasses...He wears glasses but often takes them off and then we have to search but now, he gathers up any that might be laying around...I have glasses everywhere, at the computer, by the bed, on my head, everywhere...(Working with eyes for so many years, I've accumulated many, many pairs)...But, I do have to laugh when I look at Jim and he's wearing my red glasses or when I sit down at the computer and, oops, no glasses and he has them in his pocket...Every day, it's a new mystery...At least it's keeping my mind going, I think......Last week, we collected the little pocket combs and before that was white handkerchiefs, who knows what's next.....
For sure, I'm going to sew....The Steelers aren't on until 4:30 today and by then, I'll be ready to take a nap, lol....
Tomorrow, we have another VA appointment and then we're going to do some "window shopping" and hopefully have lunch at Steak n Shake...
As far as dinner, today, boy that's a good question! I honestly have no idea....Maybe I'll have to be like Jana and check Pinterest or whatever it is and hopefully come up with something......
You all have a great day....
Happy eating.................
Mary, I just read about your SeaHawks quarterback, Russell Wilson on FaceBook and was very, very impressed....He's quite a special young man, one we all would be proud to call our son.......

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Sun, Nov 13th
Good quick morning!
Need to finish getting dressed for church - they would not appreciate me in my slip and hair in rollers! LOL
Stu will be home on Friday. Because of HIPA rules, he has to make all the appointments. But Sarah will drive him to the hand specialist and just show up at the door and try to get him in. Prayer works!
Dinner will be simple fare, sloppy joes and french fries.
Need to go, time is running out fast,
Enjoy,
Jana

Just had the feeling i should check in here,
Mary, Bill and family, i am so sorry to learn of Jim's passing. He was a great brother and you have many wonderful memories together. He is now looking back, watching over his family. He is in a better place, but even knowing that, it is hard for those left here.
Our prayers for you and your family at this time,
Jana and Michael
