daily devotion 11/3

A pleasant word is much more inviting than harsh words at the beginning of the day just as a warm cup of java or tea is much more inviting than a glass of ice water on a cold day.

I am not a morning person; I must have a cup of coffee sit and stare off a bit each morning as I sip my cup of coffee before the grumpies are washed away. My DH knows this and sits with me sipping coffee and stating pleasantries in the morning. Sometimes he giggles at my off stares or lack of answers to a question he may ask. But he knows it's just the sleep rinsing out of my system. Usually in about 20 min and working on my second cup of java I am starting to feel human and waking up.

Saying nothing is always better than spitting out lava at a person. But saying kind and loving words is much better than saying nothing at all. This lets a person know you care. Giving thanks to God in your prayers is saying something pleasant to God. Do you tell HIM you Love HIM? I think God likes to hear that also. Sometimes our prayers need to be just that Pleasant and not so "help me, give me, where are you when I need you" statements. God just like people would like to hear pleasant words now and then.

May your words be sweet as honey. Can you think of a couple more entries for your page of "Thankfulness" now?

Hugs Prayers and God Bless

Let us oft speak kind words to each other,
Kind words are sweet tones of the heart ...

Part of a hymn - words are so important.

So are our prayers, what blessings await from the Lord, if we but talk to him.

It will be a few wild weeks here, as our missionary needs to come home for hand surgery. When he is recuperated, he will return to his mission for the time he has left. We will have him here for Thanksgiving.
