SUPPER CLUB - Thursday, Sept 8th

Post by purrfect-lady » Thu Sep 08, 2016 3:18 am

Good Morning!

It's dark and chilly this morning! I'm going to change bed sheets today and the flannels are going on! Tomorrow I will do the same with the trailer bed. I'll also do a little bit of sewing, clean the sewing room, and start gathering things to put into the trailer tomorrow. We leave for camping on Monday, but hesitate to pack stuff yet as our friends will be returning this evening for one more night - and their things are in the trailer.

Bill did get the cat flap installed and did a beautiful job. It gave him a bit of a fluttery feeling to cut into the walls of our new rig! Now all the 'gotta do's' are done. Just have the 'wanna do's' left and we figure we need to live in it for a while to see just what all we wanna do.

IRISH - I feel for you, girlfriend. You have a tough row to hoe but somehow you manage to keep your smile on. Saturday we are having dinner with friends who are in the same boat as you. and the poor wife went through this with her mother and then her MIL. She knows all too well what's in store for her - and perhaps that makes it harder.

TINA - I think you are just exhausted and going in too many directions at once to settle your brain down. I hope things get better when your parents are living closer to you.

JANA - congrats on your new "Sundae"! You will be stylin' in your new wheels! I see Lori is coming to town! Have you met her before?

CHICKIE - still 100*?? Our friends whose dog we are babysitting - their previous dog that died 18 months ago was called "Millenni" because they got her at the millenium. Bet there's lots of Millies and Millenni's out there! I hope our 12 yr old car lasts another 12. I'm a keeper. Bill seems to have a limit of 12-15 yrs.

We still have leftover swiss steak so today it's going into a veggie beef soup

Battery is dying so I have to SEND before it shuts down!

Good late morning from sunny, summery, SW. Pa...I feel bad for the kids who have to go to school although I guess most of our schools now do have AC, but still.............I hated when our kids had to go to school, wanted to keep them home forever....And back then we didn't home school or I might have, lol.....

Mary, just a couple of days ago, I was ready to get out the electric blanket but now we're closing in on 90....Hope you get good weather for your next camping trip.....I'm not sure I would want to know what to expect with Jim....Maybe being in the dark has it's perks, makes for a new adventure every day.....But, as I've said, raising 5 kids was a breeze, lol......

Becca, So sorry to hear the bad news...It seems it's all around us, no escaping it....I think about you often during the day and always send a prayer or 2....Sometimes, life isn't fair.....

Jana, happy to hear about the new ride and did laugh at the "thick" manual....When we got our new car, we had no idea what OnStar was and of course, neither one of us took the time to read that book...We were out and Jim was pushing the buttons near the radio and we hear this voice say, "Read the manual".....Another time, I had a gal friend in the car and must have pushed a button on the steering wheel ad we heard a voice...We both said, what did you say??? And the voice came back on...It took awhile for me to figure out, it was OnStar thinking I was trying to make a phone call and asking for the number.....Years ago, my friend in Florida didn't know how to reset the clock and drove right into the dealership and told them to fix it.....What ever happened to simple?
But, I really do wish you many, many safe, happy years with your new "sundae".....

I had a message from DS in N. Carolina and he just had a 2nd interview with a company from up here and said, it sounded good....The bad thing, Nick is a senior and wants to finish down there, the house needs put on the market and if by chance they need to stay here, 1 dog doesn't like Jim....Other than that, great news and if he gets the job, things will work out......

Not sure what's on our schedule today, which is a big joke...I don't have a schedule, lol.....We didn't go for a ride yesterday so maybe today....I have books to return and also pick up at the Library and we can always pick up cat food....It's not so much the 2 inside cats what are keeping me broke, it's our feral, Jake...3 times a day, he's at the back door, calling me and boy can he eat...I guess he's working on his winter fat....

Also not sure what is on the menu for dinner...Jim just asked for a hot dog and boy did I get that ready before he changed his mind....I might borrow Mary's "swiss steak and mashed potatoes" idea, hopefully Jim will be tempted.....Still a little peach cobbler left for afters.....

Happy eating................

Good morning!

No, i have yet to meet Lori or Beverly. We are going to meet at lunch nearby here, should be lots of fun.

Ethan is coming to dinner tonight. Sarah's rehearsal for Messiah is starting. So i have no idea about dinner, but kitle guy loves anything Grandma cooks.

Quiet day, so i hope to get caught up on a new Christmas sew along.

Enjoy,
Jana

Hello everyone,We are still in the heat here.Looking for cooling.

Maryz Almost ready to head out again.Maybe peace will reign when Chili leaves.

Irish I know where you are coming from.Things I see around here are a bit scary too as I know how his Mother got.She had strokes just like him.I try to stay upbeat like you.Guess with DB & after hearing from my Friend it kind of got me yesterday.Keep the sense of humor flowing.Hugs to you.
Irish I too didn't want my kids to go to school.Wanted them home with me.I may have home schooled had we had it.Our DGDs do.

Jana Enjoy your new Sundae. We hope ours last forever. We used to trade every year.

Tina Do hope things get better once Mom & Dad get closer.I cringed when I read your Mom couldn't get in car.

Chickie We know you are either walking the holligans or scrubbing floors.lol

DH had lab work early so off we went. Then to groceries.I don't like him going but it would have meant another trip. Now it's mowing time.
He had me get deli for him.I made me a big salad. Will be lite here tonite. His appetite is gone.So it's hard to cook. Becca

Here's what the nurse practitioner said: my kidneys aren't working right, my pee is cloudy, I have high cholesterol, he gave me a prescription to try and said to cut back on my fried and fatty foods, which I hardly eat anyway. He said I could eat nothing but grass and still have high cholesterol, ugh. My white blood count was a little high, my red blood cells are larger than they are supposed to be...all this was from when I was sick so they don't know if it was because I was sick. They did an EKG and I'm scheduled for an echocardiogram next week and then back the 28th for those results and whatever else they're doing. My blood sugar was great!
It's already afternoon nap time, I don't know where the time keeps going...
Mom had her bone marrow test today, they both fell asleep yesterday so they didn't get there in their motor home so this morning they weren't in any hurry and then Mom drank coffee and she was supposed to fast so they had to delay it, those two are.....
We're just having leftovers for supper.
Tina
