Attaching an oversize board to your current ironing board
My hubby is making me an oversize board for ironing. I have not found any way to attach it to my ironing board. Thee are a lot of instructions on how to cover it but I can not find anything on how it fits on the ironing board. My luck I would break a toe when it fell off!

The one my husband made has some one by nailed underneath it. He sort of made a frame under the board to go around the existing ironing board. It worked really well but I found it was too big for my room.
The frame doesn't have to be a perfect iron board shape. just so the new board can't slide off your ironing board.
hope that makes sense.

I have an oversized board that my DH bought me many years ago and I love it!!! All it has is a frame around the edges that sits on top of a regular ironing board. I have a very old, and sturdy ironing board from the 1940's and they don't make tbdm like this anymore, but I still think that any board would work. I've never had any problems with mine at all. Joan

What I have that works well is a piece of ply wood, that my DH cut to about 18 x 24 (about the same size as my cutting mat). We wrapped it with some old bath towels and some batting. then I used an old pillow case, opened it up and re stitched it to fit the new board.
I can pull the pillow case off to launder it when ever I get it full of spray starch, etc.
This fits on my counter top, so I don't need to carry a big ironing board around in the RV. My pressing board slips into the closet or beside the sofa and is out of the way, when I am not using it.
I have a table top ironing board that came with a hook on it to hang it in the closet. That works well for pressing a shirt, etc. It too slips into the closet and out of the way. RV living makes you think small and downsizing and you have to keep things in their place to keep the place looking neat. LOL
