SUPPER CLUB - Saturday, July 2nd

Post by purrfect-lady » Sat Jul 02, 2016 4:22 am

Good morning!

Today my younger grandson turns 19. I think DH and I better go shopping today!! We will see him tomorrow.

While my sister was visiting other family, I've been working a few hours a day on everything that needs doing here - yard, laundry, trailer, house, cooking for company. But today the company is gone, the laundry is done, and the trailer is emptied of most stuff. I still need to wash bedding, clean, and restock for next outing. But I am taking the weekend off from chores! Whoo hoo! I do need to go to the grocery store and we'll probably hit Costco while we're out. and I have to make an appetizer to take to friends' tonite for supper. Tonite WE will be the guests!

TINA - I bet you are still rolling around in those four totes of fabric your mom gave you, big grin on your face!

BECCA - banana splits sound pretty good to me! so do root beer floats. Hmmmm..... I better amend my grocery list.

CHICKIE - I know you are busy with Natasha, also with a big grin on your face!

CAROL - your surgery right after the Fourth, isn't it?

IRISH - According to the national weather map, you might be having some rain in your neck of the woods. maybe more. I hope things are OK at your house. Will Terry and Nick come for the holiday weekend?

I'm not sure what we'll be having for supper at our friends, but I'm taking an appetizer - a layered Oriental dip with rice crackers. Hence the grocery run today. I haven't made this in a few years, so wish me luck!

p.S. I posted my Layered Oriental Dip recipe in the recipe section if anyone is interested. It's much like a layered Mexican dip except it has Oriental flavors.

Good morning!

I am with you Mary in taking time off! In fact I will get three weeks off, starting Sunday! The kids will be house sitting at Matt's and her parents during that time.

The bad news is that the kids house is up in limbo right now. The framers have all quit the company and the kids house is waiting to get framed. The company is hoping to find some framers to finish up, but right now in Utah framers are scarce, houses are being built right and left, so the framers can command high wages.

I need a run to the grocery store for food. Not a lot, just mostly the fresh stuff. We ran out of propane for the grill two - both tanks, so that is needed too.

Firework season started last night and will go until the 7th of July. People go ape over shooting off their own here - we can buy the aerials and one neighbor down the road a piece spends over 1000 dollars on aerials! Just how much fabric could I buy and last longer than 15 minutes! OK, we get to enjoy the fireworks, but with a very watchful eye on the tinder dry grass near the house.

Enjoy and have a safe week-end!

Hello everyone.Hot here & dry too. These hot days really dry things out. Most of the blackberries have dried up on the vines.Sad to see.

Jana When I read about your one DS & DDIL not being invited really made me sad.Families can be hurtful.Sure felt bad for them.Hope they find framers soon.

Maryz Saw you were going to Olylipia for Dinner.Thats quite a drive.Hope it is enjoyable.

I have never liked fireworks.Noises bother me.My DGS spends a lot too but not 1,000 on them.Maybe since he just built a new Home he stopped. There are none in our neighborhood that shoots them. Our Town has a big fireworks for a small town. They put a lot into them. The Jaycees put it on.

I am making BBQ ribs,Baked potato, salad,Made brownies. Becca

Mary, I went through the one with Mom yesterday and by the time we got home my back was not a happy camper but this morning while Preston mapped, I cleaned and straightened my sewing room and got one and a half rhinos sewn : ) I want to get my rhinos finished before I get sidetracked again Lol
Holly and Jazmyne went to the beauty shop today, having a mommy daughter time and Easton is with his dad and me and Frankie have Preston today. He seems to be a very tired baby today, he took a 2 1/2 hour nap and got up to eat and be changed and was rubbing his eyes again. I managed to keep him up for an hour but he's dozing off again now.....back to my rhinos : )
Becca, wow your neighbor must do a lot of fireworks! I don't mind them on the 4th but really think they should just be for the one day. The poor animals that get so frightened and take off running and get lost : (
I'm not sure yet what we're having for supper....maybe chicken strips.
