SUPPER CLUB - Fri, June 24th
Good Morning!
We are still in La Grande, OR at our Rally. Yesterday was an all-day sewing session in the park clubhouse. There are about a dozen quilters and crafters that take advantage of this time, plus a few folks who drift through checking out all the projects. I got my animal swap blocks finished - well all but the final one because I was short one 3" square. Plus I was able to assemble a top from last year's Christmas swap. I think there will be more time to sew today as most of the 150 folks here are taking an all-day bus trip to another town. We opted to stay in camp. Plus, my sister and I will make a run this morning to big thrift shop we missed in our last foray out. I found some nice Christmas fabric at one shop the other day.
Last night was the big potluck supper. I made potatoes/bacon/onion in a creamy cheese sauce in the the crockpot. So much yummy food! Tonite is wine-tasting/appetizers. I'll be taking meatballs in Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce. Again, I'll be using a crockpot!
IRISH - I'm so sorry you are having trouble keeping an eye on your Jim. I'm sure your neighbors are aware and hope they will hold their fire! It must be difficult to keep your sense of humor. Locks sound like a good idea. Hugs to you, My Dear!
BECCA - Does your hubby drive at all any more? My brother< Jim, had to give up driving many years ago because his Parkinsons meds cause hallucinations. He kept slamming on the brakes to avoid elk that weren't there, or swerving to avoid imaginary guardrails. I'm glad your DD finally got moved. I actually enjoy moving. all the sorting, packing, and setting up a new house is fun for me. I haven't moved in 30 years though. I may just find it not so much fun at 65 as it was at 35 though!
TINA -I don't envy you your heat! We are having cool, rainy, windy weather here in Oregon. At least through the night. I see the sky is clearing now. Wish you could be here with us! That's a good idea you had for Irish - putting Jim's shoes in a locked closet or chest.
JANA - You and Irish brought back a not-so-good memory of my brother Jim who went wandering one night about 3 yrs ago, when we were camped with them in northern Idaho. He had a vivid dream that he was on a sinking ship (that would be their motorhome) and he fought to get out the drivers side window. Quite a drop to the ground. And he started "swimming for shore". It was middle of the night and his wife, who is hard of hearing, never knew a thing. Some hours later a sheriff came through camp and knocked on our trailer door. They had Jim, in nothing but skivvies. A paper delivery fellow found him, picked him up on the road 3 miles from camp, and called 911. by then Jim knew enough that he could tell them sort of where we were camped. and he could describe our truck so that's how the sheriff found us. All due to his meds.
Anyway - supper! There will be none tonite as there is always a lot of food at the social hour. I'm still stuffed from the potluck last night. No cooking tomorrow, either, as the factory that makes Arctic Fox trailers puts on a big catered BBQ for us. It's good to be me, the non-cooking cook!

Hey Mary good to read all your fun:) Hey dont forget to pick yourself up some row by rows in your traveling ventures:)
I am afraid to leave home with daddy in his condition. DH wants me to schedule a vacation in sept or oct. We shall see. We have a timeshare so not out any money to stay anywhere:) and it does make us take a vacation each year.
Supper tonight will be left over homemade chicken noodle soup and salad:) I always make way too much soup LOL:) but it was yummy.
Plan to work on my goat blocks and the hand quilting commission quilt:) I need to have it done next month:)
Happy cooking all:) its too hot to cook much I do it all in crock pot or grill late in evening:)

Good morning! We had a million dollar rain last night for the farmers. The corn crop was in imminent danger of disaster if the moisture didnāt come in time. Hopefully the 3.5ā we received last night saved them⦠including DS1ās crop!
Tonight I have to cook. We managed to eat most of the left overs. Maybe it will be pork chopsā¦
No weeding this morning. I can hardly move, but we had some sprinkles earlier. I plan to go get my Row by Row from the LQS this morning before it gets hot.
Happy eating!

Hello ,Cloudy & more mild today. And we had 2/10 in last nite.Happy for any we get.
Chickie Glad you got some relief too.
Maryz DH hasn't driven in 20 yrs. Both his Drs told him to stop driving. But he has started this criticing me. In about the last year.I am sure it is hard to not be able to drive but it unnerves me.Just have to laugh & carry on.
Maryz You sure wouldn't find it a joy to move after that many years.DD has moved 12 times in their marriage that I can count. This one was so rushed that it made it hard. They still have furniture to buy & all the painting to get done.Little Avery put a hold on things.
But she is so worth it all.Such a cutie.
Mary you sure know how to find the fabric in shops, never any here though I always check for it.
Izzy Hope you got all your weeds cut.And glad you got some rain.
Irish Sure hope things are leveling out for you.Know each day is different & we have to go with the flow.Thinking of you.
DH wanted him some Bologna.Ekkk not me.I have chicken breast. And will sautƩ zucchini, garlic, & onion. Becca

Good afternoon!
Been working on my patriotic wreath. Its on the front door but needs a few more fluffies. So a trip to Hobby Lobby in a few minutes. Matt just showed up.
Dinner last night was very yummy and there were leftovers, but someone forgot to put it in the refrigerator when it had cooled, so we lost it. So I will make my polska kielbasa dinner.
Enjoy,
Jana
