SUPPER CLUB - Monday, May 23rd
Good Morning!
The pizza fest with the Z's is done for another year. Whew!
IRISH - glad to have an update on Lady Carol, but I hope she'll be back soon. She brightens my day with her witty supper reparte`! Also happy to hear your arm is improving. But don't get well too fast . . ;o) How long will Terry be with you? Besides not long enough, I mean. Does Nick have one or two more years of high school to go?
TINA - I've been thinking of you and Frankie and your parents and wondering how you all are! Is your mom still in the hospital? I would love to send you some of our rain, but I'm not sharing our green!
CHICKIE - My armadillo quilt block turned out kind of neat! I thought of Doyal the entire time I was making it! lol! We ran into another Doyal! Apparently there's two in the world! Who knew! This Doyal found Bill on our RV forum. He just retired and bought an Arctic Fox trailer and is going to our Arctic Fox RV Rally next month in Oregon. People come from all over the U.S. to this event. This fellow not only lives in Gig Harbor but lives on our road, about 3/4 mile away! AND - he retired from same place Bill did. They used to know each other! And the world grows smaller.
BECCA - how is Baby Avery? I saw in the sew-in you said she was trying to nurse. always a good sign!
CAROL - What's going on in your world today?
JANA - is everyone moved in now? I bet it's been a busy, busy weekend at your house! And I'm sure Ethan had a lot to say about his trip!
We have a few leftovers to eat up, but they may become breakfast or lunch. I have a new recipe for Black Bean lasagna from Taste of Home magazine that I want to try. I have all the ingredients. So that may be our supper tonite. Also, I was reading my cooking-themed mystery last night and it includes recipes. there was one for Cream cheese Cranberry bars. I need to use up some open cream cheese and cranberries left in my freezer from the holidays, so I may be baking today, too! Bill is already smacking his lips! I don't bake to often!
What's bakin' in your kitchen?

Good morning!
The kids are cleaning up the odds and ends at the old place. Then we wait. The builder has poured the footings and hopefully the foundation is this week. Their buolding is the last to be started.
Ethan will be here today. He had a meltdown at church and needed a big grandma hug. I am sure today that my shadow will be sticking very close!
Dinner - I will look in my Pioneer Woman cookbook and see what looks good. I am in the mood to bake as well, but have no eggs in the house, so a trip to the store. We are running out of milk and eggs faster than I am used to.
Enjoy!

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Monday, May 23rd
Good morning! I didn’t make it here yesterday, but we ate… I made pancakes for DHl for brunch, then silly me, I volunteered to help him with one of his wood projects after my laundry was all out on the line. I definitely regretted my big mouth! We came back, and I was miserable, hot, itchy, aching, everything but happy… Once I even dropped my drawers in the middle of it all to get rid of a bunch of ticks marching up my legs! YUCK! This is the worst year for them! When we returned, I picked ticks off me for at least half an hour before jumping in the shower and scrubbing… hard! I’m hoping for RAIN today!!! I may keep my big mouth shut today, too, before volunteering.
When we came back in, I was too pooped to fix much supper, so it was cool ham salad on lettuce and the last of the strawberry shortcake or blackberry shortcake (me).
Oh, and I did make it to the bar for burgers… Saturday evening. DH had gone to town with DS2 to work on a rental roof, and it was late when they returned, so… (Insert happy face for not cooking!)…
I will love to see the armadillo block! Really, another Doyal!!! Spelled the same? Who knew? That is VERY unusual spelling… thought it was a family name. That’s really amazing! Funny how many coincidences there are in that paragraph!!!
Becca—sounds like good news with Avery with her trying to feed!
Tina—you’ve been on my mind, too…
Mary—the black bean lasagna sounds delicious as well as the cream cheese and cranberry bars. I think you need to post the recipes after you’ve tried them!
Tonight will probably be grilled steak for DH and grilled portabellas for me. No outdoor grill… just my grill pan! I’ll add baked sweet potato and salad. I can scrounge up some dessert for DH (should be some blackberry cobbler in the fridge) and maybe animal crackers and coffee for me.
Enjoy!

Good Morning Everyone!
Today is for cleaning the house. I do need to make a trip to the Post Office to mail in the ballot for the upcoming election and a trip to the grocery store. I need some red cellophane and Popsicle sticks.
The red cellophane is to place over the lens of the flashlights per the star gazing people.
The Popsicle sticks are for this great recipe that only uses fruit (2 bananas plus 2 cups of another berry or fruit and 1-3 Tablespoons of water.) I have been eating these instead of ice cream.
Tonight's dinner will be banned food. I need to get to work.

Good morning
We're doing ok around here. Mom might have a procedure done this week if the Dr can find a Dr that knows how to do it that is on staff at the hospital. The hospital she's at has gone crazy, no outside Dr's, the Dr's on staff don't have offices outside of the hospital and you can't see the Dr that has taken care of you after you're discharged. .. ugh.
Chickie, no more volunteering for you. ..yucky ticks! I like you no cook nights, they sound fun.
Mary, sounds like you had a fun get together
I'll take the rain any day
I'll get my own green out of it
My belt broke on my vacuum this morning so I was running way behind by the time the boys got here plus I was wilted after wrestling trying to get the vacuum back together. ..I have no idea what I was doing wrong.
I didn't get my cushions worked on anymore, after we went grocery shopping we both had plans to work on stuff but were just too tired.
I made fried chicken last night, it had been forever since I've made it, it was yummy!
I'm thinking tonight will be banned food, asparagus and salad.

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Monday, May 23rd
Good afternoon from warm, sunny, purrrfect, SW. Pa....I think the 1st of many super days, at least hoping....
Mary, Lady Carol also brightens my day....She often writes on my face book page and really gives me a smile...Pizza with the "Zs" and you survived....Our pizza didn't happen and right now, can't even think what we had, guess it wasn't too thrilling, lol...Terry is here for a week, on business but saving the company money by not having to get a room or pay for food...But, what tilt they get my bill! And my Nick has another year in school and would you believe, he's now talking about going into law enforcement...I think he's been talking to his cousin who is on the force in Pgh.....But, whatever he chooses, he'll do well.....
Becca, You must be so excited with that new little girl..And what great news, she'll be home in no time....
Chickie, I would stay inside from now on...We have ticks but so far (knock on wood), I haven't see any...The neighbors have had to pick them off the kids and their dog...I don't even like to think about them, yuck! Just remember, no more volunteering!
Tina, I also have been thinking of you and your parents...The hospital sounds like a real mess....It's terrible when you can't depend on medical personal when you need them...And wrestling with your vacuum??? You know, I now have this vision of the vacuum hoses wrapped around you with you trying to get the upper hand....
Carol, and there you go, running out the door...Your popsicle desert sounds delish, really refreshing....
Jana, maybe you need to get a cow and some chickens...It sure makes a difference when you have extras living in the household....But, isn't it great???
Today, being so nice, Jim and I, with shovel, rake and gloves, went to the cemetery to start getting the graves ready for plants...I can't understand, how every year, we add top soil and mulch and the next year, that ground is so darn hard you can hardly dig...But, we did most of what I wanted and the next trip will be to plant and put down the mulch...Memorial Day is sneaking up on me!
BUT, the highlight of my day might be a visit from Mr. Schwan...AND being warm, I'll bet he'll be wearing his shorts...Of course I'm not even sure if it's the same fellow but we'll see...I might be in for a nice surprise or a big disappointment, lol....
The arm is coming along, not quite as colorful as it was but still nasty to look at so I try to keep it covered....
This afternoon, after hopefully my nice visit, I'm heading for Home Depot for plants...And if not that, I have enough to keep me busy at home....A friend of mine wants a quilt made with action figure fabrics and I swear, she probably has already spent well over $200.00 in different fabrics...She has made a diagram of how she wants each fabric placed, bought a rotary cutter and is starting to cut...She'll have most of the work done and all I'll have to do is sew....
I'm thinking dinner tonight will be burgers and fixings on the grill....Not sure just when Terry will be done for the day, so burgers will be easy peasie..........And I might even bake something....Love spoiling the kids when they come............
Happy eating.............

Irish, close. ..very close
Update on Mom, they are going to do one of three procedures this afternoon, We're waiting to see which one. Prayers would be greatly appreciated. If they do the one where they put her under her chances of waking up aren't good.
