SUPPER CLUB - Thursday, May 19th
Good Morning!
Quiet day here. I will probably ride along with Bill when he goes to Bremerton today. he has to get some welding done on our trailer hitch. There is a pretty cool fabric store in Bremerton . . . I'll probably get myself dropped off there. So much more interesting than the welding shop, don't you think?
TINA- glad you got some good rain for your flowers - and for your dust! Maybe now you can breathe easier. I hope Frankie is better today.
JANA - happy that your support beam is going in today. Or was that yesterday? Scary to live with the idea that your house could come crashing down on top of you at any time. that's how I feel living under this neighbor's big rotten maple tree. Only no beams will fix our problem!
IRISH - attorney day. Ugh! I hate those kinds of appts. But Terry is coming to town! That's something fun to look forward to. EVen the cooking!
CHICKIE - my stylist works in a TGF chain, but she was trained at a fancy place in Seattle. But after she got older and 'fluffier', she didn't fit their hot, edgy image. My good luck! Now I get $100 haircuts for $19! My hair has gotten so curly in the last 10 years that I just gel, scrunch, and fluff. I haven't used a hairdryer in months. Kinda nice!
BECCA - Hope your day is a good one. I bet your DD is in a packing frenzy playing Beat the Baby!
Yesterday Bill said, "let's go to Montezuma's for an early dinner!" I didn't argue. That wouldn't have been being a good wife - to argue with my hubby. Right?? So tonite will be that chicken and rice thing.
What's the 'thing' at your house?

Good morning!
No longer feeling like you are walking on a trampoline in the great room. So nice! Humm, maybe I can even have tile or hardwoods in here. DH is against them, this room is so big and live in sound, that a rug dampens the noise. But maybe in the entrance ways and my kitchen.
Logan is coming to make goodies with grandma today. Brownies and Strawberry Shortcake. His favorites. He is almost 8 now.
Sarah called, she found a old fashioned pay phone. They are coming over Tioga Pass Road home and will be here Saturday. The pass opens tomorrow from the winter snow.
Ethan was being Ethan! As they climbed the Mist trail up to Vernal and Nevada Falls, in Yosemite, about a 4 or 5 mile hike, he proceeded to tell all the kids on the trail, that you need to stay to the inside of the trail and hold your mom or dad's hand. Glad he listened! There were several older ladies hiking up the trail that were about to give up and turn around as it was getting hard. They saw Ethan and remarked that if a 4 year old can do this, they could too! Such a funny boy!
Dinner tonight is tortilla soup. It was punted to the sidelines for quick and easy pizza.
Irish - oh how fun to have Terry for a quick visit.
Time to scoot,
Enjoy,
Jana

Hi Ladies,
Sorry, I am kinda a hit and miss visitor here. Lots of times I get on very, very early and then don't get back to the computer until the next morning again.
I am back on today to get our credit card statement checked back and verify the payment, etc. So I decided to make a second stop-by.
It is good to see what you all are fixing for dinner. Sometimes it makes my tummy growl for all the goodies. I love the nights that we eat out, too.
Tuesday, I was the cook for the whole family. I used slow cooker and made pulled pork sandwiches and fixed home made potatoe salad to go with it. Still had enough for DH for lunch for Wed. when I had lunch out with girlfriends. He said there is still enough for his lunch today as well. yippee!!! I will fix a salad for me.
Tonight we are doing Pizza. The grandkids could eat Pizza every night and never complain (ahhh .... teenagers!!!)
Tomorrow is our "eat out NIGHT" Local restaurant here features homemade potatoe soup every Friday. Yummmmm! Looking forward to that already.
Hope you all have a really great day. Good to visit with you again.
Hugs
Vel

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Thursday, May 19th
Is it Thursday already!!! Hard to believe the week is flying by and I’m just trying to hang on!
MaryZ—have fun at Bremerton! I’d ride anywhere to get dropped at a fabric shop!
Yesterday we mowed at the rental, and I got dropped off at Ace Hardware to buy a new mop—only fabric is the pads that came with the mop! DH had to go deliver a receipt while I mop shopped. No fabric at my Ace—someone here found fabric at theirs!
Mary—you definitely lucked into a good stylist! I miss the girl who did my hair in Missouri. My hair is now starting to get long enough again to pull back into a pony tail. Easy peasy! (Lazy me!) I wish it were curly and I could just gel, scrunch and go.
Irish—my stylist and I had an agreement. She wouldn’t say anything to me about “my” haircuts if I wouldn’t call her at 5:00 a.m. when I was “trimming” as I got ready to go to work. I know she had to laugh sometimes when I went in for my regular cut. Know you are happy to be getting to see Terry and maybe have some Honey Do jobs completed.
How neat to get to go out and for Mexican! (I am assuming Montezuma’s is Mexican.) Last night’s ham fried rice was delicious! I added plenty of veggies to it, so it was at least somewhat healthy—I’m sure more so than take out. I think mine might have been better, too… even if I would rather not cook.
Vel—you reminded me. I should check our credit card charges. I do it but not regularly. I could eat pizza every night and not complain, too. I wouldn’t like the “fluff” that it adds to my already too well-padded figure. Potato soup sounds divine! It’s great to see you around the dinner table!
Jana—glad you got the beam installed! Have fun with Logan. Who knew there were still pay phones to be found! Ethan is quite the little trooper and in inspiration, too!
Dinner here…. Hummmm… maybe I’ll see if I can play my cards right and get a hamburger up at the bar. On second thought… I’ll just throw the ham bone in with some bean soup mix and have soup with a crusty sour dough bake it at home loaf or corn bread. I want to do some gardening this afternoon when it’s not so damp in the grass.
I think I have all the birds fed and more humming bird nectar made. I have a full time job feeding all the critters… including DH!
Enjoy!
