SUPPER CLUB - Wed, May 18th

Post by purrfect-lady » Wed May 18, 2016 3:29 am

Good Morning and happy Mt. St. Helens Day! 36 years ago we were camping, only to be awakened by a ranger and told to pack up and get out because the mountain was blowing! What an exciting trip that was! I still have some jars of ash that the kids collected while we were throwing things into the car.

IRISH - sorry things have been rough at your house. Hoping there are better days ahead. And I hope your little eaglet makes it back to the wild one day. At least he survived! I will have to check out Nick's photo!

TINA - how is your household today? Is Frankie feeling any better? Sorry your folks didn't get that property. But the right place will come along. It always does.

JANA - our dinner was similiar to yours last night - a one pan pasta dish I made up. Similiar to pesto but with more goodies like black beans, black olives, tomatoes, bacon bits, etc. One of DH's faves.

CHICKIE - we have been unusually warm and you have been unusually cold. I tell you, the climate is changing! But until that happens, your dinner and planned leftovers sounded pretty good from here!

BECCA - what are Bihari cuts?

Dinner tonite will be sesame chicken over rice, I think. And a salad. I always double the rice and freeze the extra for another meal.

Hope your supper is quick and easy tonite!

Good morning everyone,Nice day here.
Maryz What a laugh.I read over my post after it was posted & didn't take the time to correct the errors. That is a new way of writing hair cuts.Lol.I am using a new lady & she does a great job.

DDs move has her packing ,packing. Some friends have helped out some. The sweet little baby is giving Grama time to get it all done before she greets the family. My first one was 3 wks over due but now that won't happen.

It was a great visit yesterday with friends & Levi come later so a great day.

Irish I do understand perfectly as it gets very hard here especially since his last stroke. He gets aggatatied very easily. So different from the way he has been all his life.
Makes me very grateful for any small blessing.

DH asked for pizza last nite so that will be on the table. Becca

Good morning :)
Frankie feels about the same but hopefully he'll get to feeling better soon, thank you :)
We had our soup last night and will again tonight. We got 2 really good down pours yesterday so I'm happy and my flowers and grass are all happy, it was even pretty cool yesterday. I'm off today and hopefully getting some uglies done and going to sew.

Good morning! We are going to warm to the mid 60s today. This is really bizarre weather. I have to go to town today to help DH mow at the rental. UGH!

The veggie soup made with the red beans and rice was actually really good last evening. We had cheese and crackers with it. It was nice on a chilly evening. Tonight will be something with the rice… maybe the ham fried rice. Hummmm… the sesame chicken sounds good, too… I’ll think about that later… Don’t worry, we will eat!!!

Irish—My heart goes out to you. I so know how you feel about things closing in on you with all that goes on with your Jim. HUGS!!! Come here and “let it out” and have a cup of tea or coffee or wine with us!!! I’ve been watching orioles out my sewing room window. I thought of you watching the eagles—I just don’t have babies to watch.

Tina—so glad you got some rain for your flowers, too! Enjoy your day off!!!

Becca—so funny about your hair cuts! I’m my own hair cutter. It will grow out… at least that’s what I say when I chop on it. If I had to go anywhere except grocery shopping, I might expend the effort to find someone to cut it and style it. I haven’t had it cut professionally since I retired 10+ years ago. Still, I miss being pampered and having my hair “done”. Pizza sounds good, too. You can tell, I haven’t had brunch yet. I want it ALL!!!

Time to start brunch… we’ll be mowing in town at a rental today after the Hooligans and I return from walking down to see Ava. Best wishes to you all!!!

Good morning,

Mary - every day is a vacation day here, we moved to our permanent vacation home. No babbling brooks, just little baby babbles.

Dinner tonight might be out and then again I may make tortilla soup.

Kate and Aaron are finishing the packing up of their old basement apartment. The stuff going to the storage unit is what is left and that will be done this Friday. Matt has Fridays off from work and has the truck and trailer. I get the easy job, playing with Gracie!

Well, the contactor and the beam has arrived,
Enjoy,
Jana

Good morning from a kind of wet, over cast, warm, SW. Pa...And to show that the "Weather People" know exactly what they're talking about, Wed. "Sunny and Warm"! Maybe they're predicting next week's weather?????

Mary, Wow, 36 years ago, doesn't seem possible...And what a way to wake up...But, that sure hasn't slowed down that camping fever, has it? My Mom's name was Helen and she naturally thought they named the mountain after her....Oh I hope you do check out Nick's picture as well as the one with he and his Dad, Terry....I'm still in awe of my handsome boys, as any Mom would be....

Becca, I know you understand, you also have your hands full and I admire you for being so upbeat And you are so right about the small things, I am very blessed.....This must be the week for haircuts...I ran out on Sunday and my gal just has to take a look and knows, I've been hacking away...But, she's good, has it looking great in no time...This time, I told her not to be afraid to cut it even shorter..I consider a good cut when I can just throw some water on it in the morning and it's good to go, lol....

Chickie, boy, you are right about "sitting down with all of you"..(haven't gotten to the wine yet, lol)...And you know, I feel as you do, if the hair is too short, so what, it will grow....I do so love to hear your "Hooligans" stories....Enjoy your bird watching.....

Tina, you are another one who is so upbeat! With all you do, you always have something positive to say....Hope Frankie feels better soon and also hope you enjoy your day off.....

Well, today is the day to meet with the attorney, finally....The kids should be worried, I might leave our $1.98 to the Cat Shelters, lol....But, hopefully, I'll get some answers...And also still need to get to Home Depot for more potting soil and who knows what else...I just realized, this coming week, Terry will be in the area for his company...Yikes, that means, I might really be cooking but that also means, I might get some of my odd jobs taken care of...He doesn't know what he's getting into by telling me to make a list, lol....He'll be ready to head back to N.Carolina....He's also going to meet with our financial fellow, here on Sat. which means, I need to have something baked...Our fellow is like another son and I have to take care of him.....

As for dinner, hot meatloaf sandwiches with gravy and mashed potatoes......Not sure about afters.............

Happy eating..........
