SUPPER CLUB - thursday, April 28th

Post by purrfect-lady » Thu Apr 28, 2016 3:50 am

Did I not make it here yesterday? I know I started but then I must have gotten side-tracked. It was probably BILL!! He can be distracting at times - ;o] sorry.

CHICKIE - if you didn't see my note two days ago, we order our pet meds on-line for about half the price. We buy Front Line Plus in bulk - in other words, Great Dane size. Our vet worked out dosages for us and gave us syringes.

BECCA - I hope your DD finds the perfect house soon! I was reading about how many in your family. In MY family (kids and grands) I only have 10. But if I include all my brothers and sisters - YIKES! Let's see, my oldest brother, Gene, has 36 in his family. Middle brother, Al, has 26, Jim - 10, June - 10, Teese - 6, for a total of (add add add add add) 98! Wow! If my parents were still alive they would be in awe at what they have wrought and we would be an even 100. This is the first time I've added us up in many years. Personally, I was shocked!

LADY CAROL - someone needs to tell your weatherman that we are well into spring now . . .

CAROL - Nice to have your freezer full of meals to pull out! We had a little brown bird of some sort build a nest in the silk wreath on our front door a few years ago. So fun to watch the construction and then there were EGGS! They've never come back, but I left the nest in the wreath and put it out every spring in hopes of attracting new tenants.

IRISH - your Jim is getting a lot of attention at the S&D shop. Now I think you said his doc is also his cousin. Hopefully there's no leftover childhood animosity in play here and that Regis isn't going home at night chuckling that he put one over on Jim . . . Seriously though, I hope Jim heals quickly and not too painfully.

JANA - Love your kids' name for your nachos! I'm afraid to ask what all is on them. Let me guess: cooked burger, chilies, sliced olives, cheese, sliced tomatoes, avocados, salsa, and ??? am I close?

Today I am slowing down. I only have bathrooms left to clean in my spring-cleaning frenzy. I also want to get my Woven Ribbons quilt top together by tomorrow so I can clear the sewing decks before Mary Q and Sue arrive on Saturday. We have to run to Costco (Bill loves Costco and counts it as a date! lol!) and I need to make a dessert - tropical crisp/crumble to take to supper with Warren tonite. That's pineapple, bananas, (and I'm adding mandarin oranges) with a topping like any other crisp dessert. So no cooking here except for that.

Good morning!

Yes, Mary, you were close, sour cream, green onions, refried beans, nacho cheese sauce as well as cheese and lettuce, is what you missed. Need something healthy and green on there - LOL

Dinner - humm, it is cloudy and rainy today, so one of my soups will appear. Maybe my minestrone, we will see.

I got the storage pantry all organized and put away the new inventory in the back. Takes me awhile to label things and then move the old forward. Now on to the freezer. I haven't put things in order there for a time, just let Michael shove it where it fits. After all is done, need go make my inventory sheet to post by the door, along with a pen to mark off as we take out, so I can easily replace. Nice to have a cold room in the basement.

Time to scoot, Ethan just arrived and wants his second breakfast. Can't fill up that little boy!

Enjoy,
Jana

Good morning! I have to cook today. We cleaned out the fridge last night, so clean slate today. I haven’t decided on a protein, but there will be baked sweet potatoes for both of us and something green for me.

MaryZ—I don’t do syringes… Unless you still just put them on their skin. Our vet is the farm vet and he sells the meds cheaper than the pet vet in town. I looked at some on line and mine were about the same. Yours does interest me… if I’m not giving injections. Do you need a prescription to order them? Have fun at Costco!

Jana--That’s MY idea of nachos… everything but the kitchen sink! Add some black beans to the mix. The protein can be anything that walks, swims or flies as far as I’m concerned. It’s kind of a loaded nacho salad when I’m finished with my plate. I’ll be there for your soup, too! You do a good job with your freezer! DH is a good one to just shove and stir as well.

I’ve had Carolina wrens build nests in front door wreaths and baskets. You should have seen what the babies did to a Longaberger basket! I enjoyed watching them!!! I left my clothespin bag outside one day while I was doing laundry and hanging “good stuff” under the covered deck out of the sun. Before it dried and I brought it in, some Carolina wrens had set up residence in my clothespin bag and had a full nest built in just a few hours. I left it there and got new pins and a different bag until the nursery was no longer needed. I’ve also been hornet stung when I left my clothespins out between loads, so now I bring it in each load. No more stings, but no more nests.

Mary—DH took the package of blocks to the p.o. this morning. I’ll give him the “grill” about if he really did get it mailed. If you hear of an explosion in Kansas, it’s not a fracking earthquake…

Now, I’m off to the freezer…

Good morning
I'm so lazy today, I've been sick since Monday evening, I thought I'd be well enough to watch the boys but yesterday evening didn't show any signs of improvement so I let her know I couldn't watch them, I think the other Gma is today. .... She was waiting to hear from her last night.
Poor Rosie has potty problems and was up at 1:30 so that's when I got up, we finally went to bed about 5:30 I boiled her some burger then drained it, added white rice, cottage cheese and pumpkin. ...I really hope this helps her for both our sakes.
I didn't cook last night and the burger Frankie picked up was tasteless to me, I mostly just ate the meat, we had soup the night before. I was planning on make spaghetti last night and had the meat thawing but felt to bad to cook so that's the plan for tonight.

Good late morning from a very dreary, semi rainy, yucky kind of day in Sw. Pa...But, a good day to get inside stuff done (that is if I get moving)...Hopefully, the weekend will be better.....

Mary, JUST the bathrooms left! That's unheard of...I'm still working on my spring cleaning from 1998, well, make that 2001....And I have a small house....I do feel sorry for Jim for needing all this "S and D" but thank goodness for Regis...Kind of funny, when Regis 1st started, many years ago, we would catch him "eyeing" you up and down at the family reunions...He's done so much good over the years and told me the other day, he just loves what he's doing.....
Boy, your desert sounds good....No cooking sounds better, lol....

Chickie, I'm like you with the injections...Heaven forbid any of the cats ever needed insulin, I'd be at the vets every day...I had ordered Advantage from an on line place and I swear, when it came, there was nothing in the vials (and no return). So I've been leery about ordering again...It is expensive to get form the Vet....

Jana, what is it about growing boys,lol...I guess they all come with hollow legs...But, what a pleasure to have them around, right?

As I said, today is inside stuff and kitchen cupboards are going to get a cleaning...I have a very big storage space under the sink that extends under some cabinets and it's filled with old plastic containers from cakes and other goodies...Well, no more....I have a big bag ready for the garbage and another bag for a friend who does bake sales....And this afternoon, I'm determined to hit the sewing room....
Jim hasn't been doing well this past week, this surgery really did him in....He doesn't eat a lot and it's been less, thank goodness for Ensure..Would you believe, he wasn't real enthused about having apple pie????..But, hopefully, in a day or so, he'll perk up...

As far as our dinner, I'm going to another card party (if she remembers to pick me up, lol) but I think I'll make some soup for Jim.....
Happy eating.........

I'm sure tomorrow will be a better day.....
